Hearing Nia Mitchell say this, Maxwell Peary was at a loss for words.
So she *did* mind his smoking habit from before.
"I’m already quitting," Maxwell Peary helplessly reassured her, trying to offer so comfort.
"Understood."
Such a scene would be perfectly normal between a husband and wife, but the doctor now felt like he was seeing a ghost.
Oh my god, what on earth is happening? Is this gentleman in front of really Young Master Peary? The famous Young Master Peary from Capital Town? He should be exuding a domineering aura, so why is his entire vibe suddenly off?
Witnessing this, the doctor rubbed his eyes, suspecting it was all a fignt of his imagination.
"Rember, don’t say anything you shouldn’t."
That was Maxwell Peary’s parting warning. With that, he took Rabina and left, leaving the doctor sitting there, utterly dumbfounded.
Nia Mitchell picked up so calcium tablets and folic acid, then headed ho with Maxwell Peary. However, since it was already noon, Maxwell Peary decided they should have lunch together before going back.
"Shall we go to Madgar Pavilion?"
Madgar Pavilion again! Maxwell Peary felt a pang of jealousy. What on earth is going on? Why does Nia Mitchell like that place so much?
"I’ll take you to a better place."
Nia Mitchell looked at Maxwell Peary in confusion. Madgar Pavilion is already very good.
"No need, let’s just go to Madgar Pavilion."
She didn’t have many friends at the mont. Fiona Sutton seed to be avoiding her, and she didn’t feel it was right to seek out Charles Northwood. Fortunately, she still had Evelyn Peary.
Maxwell grumpily agreed and drove straight to Madgar Pavilion.
When they arrived at Madgar Pavilion, Evelyn Peary was already waiting outside. She had a stern expression, huffed, and pointedly ignored Maxwell Peary.
"You’ve been coming to my place quite often recently. Don’t you find it troubleso?"
She’d bet he was only here to eat because of Nia Mitchell.
Sure enough, at Evelyn’s words, Maxwell’s expression turned even fouler than hers.
"Lead the way."
The cold, hard command made Evelyn gape, her mouth twitching as she stood there.
Brother, you’ve been coming to my place for so long, and you still need to lead the way? Good heavens! Right now, she felt even more flustered than that doctor from earlier.
Nia Mitchell, witnessing Maxwell Peary’s rudeness, also felt he was going a bit too far.
"Evelyn, I hope we’re not bothering you by coming here?" she said, walking over and taking Evelyn’s arm. The two of them chatted and laughed as they headed into Madgar Pavilion.
Maxwell Peary followed them, his face grim. After a long hesitation, he finally managed to suppress his anger.
After ordering, the three of them sat in the private room. Nia Mitchell happily munched on her Sweet and Sour Spareribs.
"The Sweet and Sour Spareribs here are particularly delicious, and their fruit is exceptionally good too!" Nia Mitchell praised generously.
Upon hearing this, Maxwell Peary’s face darkened, and he looked unhappily at Rabina.
"Is the fruit here better than the fruit at the Villa?"
Is she kidding? The fruit at the Villa is flown in from other countries on the sa day—it’s incredibly fresh! If she dares to say this is better, I’ll... I’ll seriously lose it and want to throttle her!
"Of course! The fruit from the Villa doesn’t taste as good as the fruit here." After saying that, she smiled and continued to eat her fruit.
Maxwell Peary was speechless. All that fruit imported from across the country, and this is the answer I get from Nia Mitchell? This is truly... ARGH! So frustrating!
