Her words, filled with indignation, were a particular delight to Maxwell Peary.
Listening to her, Maxwell Peary slightly curled his lips.
He pulled her into the elevator. When the elevator doors completely closed, Nia Mitchell pouted and flung his hand away.
"How can you kiss in front of so many people?"
Nia Mitchell questioned him, much to Maxwell Peary’s amusent. Little did Nia Mitchell know.
"What? Can’t I kiss my own wife?"
Every ti his voice rose with an upward lilt, he managed to ensnare her spirit, leaving her helpless.
She could only move forward according to his whims.
"But..."
Kisses were fine, but in front of so many people... wasn’t it a bit much? She felt so conflicted.
Nia Mitchell helplessly scratched her ear, then stood far away from him and fell silent.
Fuming, fuming, fuming!
She turned her head away, refusing to look at him.
"Nia Mitchell."
Maxwell Peary, sensing her slight petulance, poked her shoulder.
"Don’t touch !"
Nia Mitchell snapped, then continued to keep her head turned away, refusing to speak to him.
"Nia Mitchell?"
Maxwell Peary, displeased, kept poking her. This little act of hers was so much like Nia Mitchell at certain tis.
"Leave alone!"
Nia Mitchell turned her head, pouting at him.
Her eyes wide, she looked as if she wanted to eat him alive.
"Don’t push it."
His voice was indulgent, not coaxing, but carried a slight threat.
Nia Mitchell looked at Maxwell Peary, her vibrant red lips pouted.
"I did not! It’s clearly your fault. How could you be like this?"
Nia Mitchell’s eyes were glistening, as if tears might fall at any mont.
He clearly hadn’t done anything wrong; he was the CEO, after all. So how, in the end, did it beco her fault?
"You’re not allowed to act like this anymore!"
Nia Mitchell thought for a mont, then said weakly, without any assertiveness at all.
She lowered her head, leaning against the elevator wall. She was simply too shy.
Seeing her like this, Maxwell Peary’s lips curled slightly as he reached out and pulled her into his arms.
"Alright, I’ll listen to Mrs. Peary from now on."
He said with a smile, but though he said it, that wasn’t what he was truly thinking. This little bunny wouldn’t be able to stop him from doing as he pleased anyway.
"Mm."
A smile imdiately lit up Nia Mitchell’s small face. Even Maxwell Peary himself hadn’t expected just how much she trusted him.
Stepping out of the elevator, the two of them headed towards the villa on the hillside.
"Uncle, what are we having for dinner tonight?"
Nia Mitchell had just gotten into the car and asked this when her phone rang.
It was Fiona Sutton.
Nia Mitchell blinked. She could hardly believe it. A wide smile imdiately spread across her face.
Was Fiona Sutton really not angry anymore?!
"Hello?"
Nia Mitchell’s voice was tinged with excitent. Her thrilled expression made the CEO beside her glance at her a few extra tis.
"Nia, you’ve finished work, haven’t you?"
Her voice sounded dejected; it was clear her spirits were low.
Nia Mitchell nodded.
"Yes."
"Let’s et sowhere. I want to talk to you. By the way, are you with Young Master Peary?"
Nia Mitchell frowned, wondering why Fiona Sutton had brought up Maxwell Peary.
"Yes, I’m with him."
"Good then. You both head over. I’m at the Milk Tea Shop we used to go to all the ti."
With that, the call ended abruptly. Nia Mitchell frowned, looking at her phone screen where the call had disconnected.
