Nia Mitchell could hardly believe the news; she was visibly shocked.
She sat there, biting her lip and hesitating for a long ti.
"Why didn’t you tell ?"
If she had been told, Fiona Sutton wouldn’t have had to keep it all to herself.
After all these years, Fiona had been treating Charles Northwood as nothing more than a buddy. How painful it must have been for her.
Just thinking about her silently enduring those hardships made Nia’s emotions churn, leaving her at a loss for words.
Fiona shook her head. So things can’t be spoken about with just anyone.
"It’s over. I no longer have feelings for him."
With that, Fiona broke into a smile, avoiding Nia’s gaze.
Nia was left speechless; after all, she couldn’t stop, or even get involved in, what had transpired.
Since Fiona insisted it was all over, Nia could only go along with it.
"If you really like Charles Northwood, you should still try. After all..."

A certain company’s chairman entered the Dining Hall, frowning as he surveyed the place but finding nothing of interest.
The manager promptly approached him.
"Hello..."
As a manager with aspirations in the city, he made it his business to know every major figure in Capital Town. This chairman was one of the figures he recognized.
"That car outside, it’s Young Master Peary’s, right?"
The chairman couldn’t believe that Maxwell Peary would dine in such a place.
Upon hearing the chairman’s words, the manager hesitated briefly before nodding.
"Perfect. I’d like to et Young Master Peary. Go inform him."
Within the MC Group, they hardly ever had an opportunity to see Maxwell in person. Now that they had finally managed to see him outside, it was a rare opportunity they naturally wouldn’t let slip by.
Listening to the chairman’s words, the manager hesitated for a long ti.
"I’m sorry, although the car belongs to Young Master Peary, he isn’t here."
Young Master Peary isn’t here?
This stumped the chairman; it was sothing he hadn’t considered. If his car is here, how could he not be here himself?
The simple reason was that Maxwell’s car was not driven by Maxwell himself.
Now, this is intriguing. In all the world, who could possibly have the privilege to drive Maxwell’s car?
Heh. Now I’m even more interested in eting this person.
"Whoever drove the car, I want to et them."
In front of a re manager, the chairman naturally began to throw his weight around.
Soone so arrogant must often abuse his power.
The manager stood there, uncomfortable but not yielding.
Are you kidding ? If I let this chairman through and end up offending those two young ladies inside, will I even have a future in this business?
"I’m sorry, they won’t see anyone," the manager refused.
The chairman was taken aback, his eyes flashing with anger and indignation.
"My wanting to see them is doing *them* a favor! What? Do you think you have the power to stop ?"
