At that mont, Victoria Perez’s face was turning pale with anger, and she looked up at Nia Mitchell with a resentful glare.
"The police will be here soon. You just wait!"
Though she attempted to project an intimidating exterior, she was also nervous deep down.
Nia Mitchell sneered. "That’s perfect. I can also ask them what to do if soone is slandering . I assu you know there are surveillance caras in the Private Booth, right?"
Actually, Nia Mitchell herself didn’t know if there were any caras in the Private Booth; after all, today was only her second ti inside. However, since it was Maxwell Peary’s exclusive booth, others probably wouldn’t know either. She was taking a gamble, betting that Victoria Perez didn’t know and that she would panic out of guilt.
Sure enough, upon hearing Nia Mitchell’s words, Victoria Perez’s expression changed instantly.
"Of course, there are caras in that Private Booth! Hmph, they’ll be the proof that you stole my diamond ring!"
Victoria Perez sneered forcefully, yet she bit her lip and turned to look at her father, Robert Perez, behind her.
"Dad, I know you’re very kind. I’ve thought about it. This diamond ring was a gift from you, so technically, it’s yours. Since you’ve decided not to pursue the matter, I’ll let it go too."
Projecting an image of magnanimity, she wrapped her arm around Robert Perez’s and behaved very obediently.
Robert Perez was taken aback. He realized the reason for Victoria’s sudden change of attitude was simply because...
"Alright, let’s go ho now," Robert Perez said.
Robert Perez breathed a sigh of relief. He was glad things hadn’t escalated out of control.
As they prepared to leave, Nia Mitchell stepped forward to block their path.
"You can’t leave!"
Fury consud her. How could they? This pair had just ruined her reputation with their little act, and now they thought they could just walk away unscathed? Dream on!
"This matter isn’t over just because you say it is! Now I’m the one calling the police!"
She bent down, preparing to pick up her phone, but Victoria Perez quickly stepped forward and stomped on it.
"You’re really ungrateful!" Victoria Perez shouted. She had never t such an unreasonable person.
"Miss Perez, I suggest you lift your foot. Otherwise, don’t bla for what happens next!"
Nia Mitchell hadn’t expected Victoria Perez to stoop so low as to stomp on her phone. If she hadn’t pulled her hand back quickly enough, it would have been her hand under Victoria’s foot, not just the phone.
"Hmph! Are thieves these days all this audacious? Threatening to call the police?"
Victoria Perez had no intention of lifting her foot. What if Nia actually calls the police? Although I can probably sort it out with money, a big scene would definitely damage my reputation.
Poor Victoria Perez. She still didn’t realize that her reputation was already in tatters. What was one more scandal at this point?
Thinking about the potential damage to her reputation, Victoria Perez’s foot, still on the phone, shifted slightly.
"Let’s see if you still dare to call the police. Go on, try and get your phone from under my foot if you can."
After saying this, Victoria Perez arrogantly took a stack of cash from her wallet and threw it in Nia Mitchell’s face.
"This money is a token of my generosity. I’m not like you, so desperate for cash you’d stoop to stealing soone’s diamond ring."
Victoria Perez lifted her chin proudly, laughed, and tucked her wallet back into her new LV bag.
