Unable to prevail against Charles Northwood, the man on the other end of the line felt utterly frustrated.
"Everything the Northwood Family has is for you."
Over the phone, he couldn’t discern Charles Northwood’s emotions, and Charles Northwood didn’t respond for a long ti.
"You should co back soon. The Northwood Family needs you."
The man spoke after a lengthy silence from Charles Northwood’s end.
"I won’t co back."
Charles Northwood repeated his refusal, his tone firm as if the decision was final, causing the man on the other end to frown in displeasure.
"So, you’ve truly abandoned the Northwood Family?"
"Is it abandoning the Northwood Family? Brother, you know better than anyone that it’s the Northwood Family who didn’t want ."
With that, Charles Northwood hung up. He lay down on the sofa and let out a heavy sigh.
The Northwood Family was like a huge boulder pressing down on him. He simply didn’t know how to deal with it.
This was a situation that should never have happened.
Frowning, he reviewed the investigation results he had just obtained and dialed another number on his cell phone.
"Hello? I have a business proposition for you."
A smirk played on Charles Northwood’s lips, and his usually gentle eyes now held a glint of wickedness.
"Oh? The young master of the Northwood Family wants to do business with us? Do tell."

Since Nia Mitchell was scheduled to leave D City for Capital Town that morning, the police chief had arrived at the hospital early.
Under the guidance of the hospital dean, the two made their way to the VIP Ward.
Unexpectedly, from a distance, they saw Nia Mitchell walking down the corridor.
The sound of crying reached them, startling them both.
What should they do?
Should they go comfort her, or just wait here until she finishes crying?
For heaven’s sake, did Young Master Peary know about the situation here?
The police chief was particularly anxious. He had to find the culprits before Young Master Peary caused a fuss.
But Nia Mitchell was uncooperative. She wasn’t saying anything. How could they find them?
The man who had called the police for them had rely been riding past on his motorcycle from a distance when he saw four people surrounding and assaulting them with punches and kicks.
By the ti he got a little closer, those individuals had already scattered and fled in four different directions.
Therefore, he hadn’t actually seen anything clearly at all.
The police chief hesitated for a mont, then approached.
"Miss Mitchell."
Nia Mitchell was surprised. Her emotions were still unstable, but she was in a better state than yesterday.
She looked up at the police chief, her eyes wide and unfocused, brimming with tears.
Seeing her in such a state, anyone would have felt deep sympathy.
"Miss Mitchell, you shouldn’t be sitting on the ground; it’s cold."
Nia Mitchell blinked and slowly stood up.
The police chief’s concerned voice filled her ears.
However, in her haziness, she seed to see Maxwell Peary.
Maxwell Peary wouldn’t even let her stand barefoot on the carpet for fear she’d catch a cold, let alone allow her to sit on the cold tiles like this.
If Uncle saw her now, he would surely look at her with concern and then dotingly pick her up.
"Miss Mitchell, we still hope you can cooperate. Only by doing so can the culprits be brought to justice sooner."
The police chief spoke, an eager smile on his face, hoping Nia Mitchell could provide so useful information.
Nia Mitchell stood there, her fists clenched.
"There were four people in total. They all seed young, but their faces were covered by black cloth. I didn’t see their faces."
As she said this, Nia Mitchell felt extrely defeated.
She had been panicking at the ti. Forget their faces being covered; even if they had been completely visible, she wouldn’t have been able to rember what they looked like.
She couldn’t provide even the slightest bit of useful information...
