In the dead of night, Fiona Sutton descended into slumber and was consud by a deep dream.
In her dream, Yancy Hastings, bloodied from head to toe, kept moving forward. Before him, masked assailants reached out. They pursued relentlessly as Yancy Hastings struggled onward.
A trail of his blood marked his path; the assailants finally caught up to him.
Fiona! Fiona!
He called her na. Fiona stood rooted to the spot, wanting to rush over and intervene, but she couldn’t move.
Yancy Hastings!
She scread his na, but he seed not to hear.
Fiona, Fiona...
Over and over, he called her na, his eyes filled with longing as he looked at her, desperate to survive.
Fiona struggled desperately, but it was no use.
His eyes slowly closed.
Blood was everywhere. It engulfed her. She stood there, crying ceaselessly, calling out his na.
He lay lifeless in a pool of blood.
Yancy Hastings!
With a heart-rending scream, she finally broke free and rushed towards him, but suddenly he vanished.
"Yancy Hastings!"
Murmuring his na over and over, Fiona broke out in a cold sweat.
Alerted by her voice, Charles Northwood imdiately got up from his sofa and rushed into the Bedroom.
"Fiona? Fiona?"
Seeing her in bed, crying and shouting in her sleep, he imdiately called her na, trying to awaken her.
However, she appeared to be trapped too deeply in her dream, unable to be roused.
"Fiona, wake up. You’re just dreaming."
He shook her shoulder gently.
"Yancy Hastings!"
Fiona’s eyes shot open, her face a mask of terror.
"Yancy Hastings! Charles, quickly, save him! Hurry and save him!"
Tears filled Fiona’s eyes as she grabbed Charles’s hands.
"Fiona, you were dreaming!"
Charles forced a smile. He also gripped her hand tightly, trying to lend her strength.
Slightly dazed, Fiona slowly ca to her senses.
"It was just a dream..."
Looking around, she rembered she was in Charles’s Apartnt.
"It was just a dream... just a dream..."
The sa phrase, yet with two different anings. The first reflected relief that it was only a dream. The second was a lant that it was *only* a dream. Yancy Hastings was dead, really dead... He could no longer appear, no longer clamor about taking responsibility.
A dull ache emanated from her lower abdon. Fiona sat on the bed, tears streaming down her cheeks once more.
"How could he be so irresponsible? Why did he have to sacrifice himself...?"
She cried out, then broke into sobs.
"Fiona, it’s alright, everything will be alright," Charles held her tight, comforting her ceaselessly.
The pain in her lower abdon was getting worse. Fiona clutched at it in fear.
"What is it?"
Noticing sothing was wrong, Charles looked at her, instantly alard.
Tear tracks marked Fiona’s face as she clutched her lower abdon, her eyes brimming with fresh tears of fear.
"AH—it hurts, it hurts so much... my baby—"
Startled, Charles imdiately scooped her up in his arms.
"Don’t be afraid, we’ll go to the Hospital, to the Hospital!"
"My baby!"
Fiona was thrown into a panic. What would she do if anything happened to her baby?
"It’s okay, don’t be afraid. Nothing will happen to the baby, Fiona. Trust ."
"My baby, my baby! Save , Charles, save ! Save my baby!"
"Don’t be afraid!"
「Hospital Ergency Room—」
Charles sat waiting outside. Each passing second was an agony. Fiona’s emotional state had been erratic lately, so this baby... If they couldn’t save the baby, it wouldn’t be entirely unexpected.
He leaned back in his chair, eyes closed.
If she were to lose the baby, would Fiona lose her mind?
"Are you a relative of the patient?"
Suddenly, a Nurse erged.
