Learning that he was another, completely opposite personality of himself left the young Gu Ningxuan astonished and frightened. He wanted to share this secret with others, but he knew that speaking out wouldn’t be beneficial. This kind of personality split wasn’t the "schizophrenia" of the Earth Era, but involved spiritual power...
Though young at the ti, he knew this wasn’t an ordinary matter; it was quite serious! Moreover, the other had said that they were essentially one person, both carrying the sa mories. If it were treated as a regular split personality disorder, and one personality was eradicated, the whole individual would face ntal collapse—at best, becoming dented and foolish, and at worst, spiritual power dead, becoming a vegetable!
Gu Ningxuan couldn’t do anything about the other, because as the other had said, they were actually one person, and harming the other would be harming himself. They weren’t truly two independent personalities, but one person with two different temperants.
Gu Ningxuan was the main personality, while the other guy was the secondary one, but sotis their roles could swap, leading the other to venture out and cause trouble. Like last ti, the other casually drank a dubious beverage, putting the main personality, Gu Ningxuan, in a tough spot.
After many discoveries and research, Gu Ningxuan roughly understood under what circumstances the other could break out... It was when the other’s power surpassed his own. Looking at his hands, Gu Ningxuan couldn’t help but feel dejected. When at the Gu Family, he could barely suppress the other, but now the other could break out so easily... Was it because he had progressed too little, or the other too much?
No matter how fervently Gu Ningxuan wished internally, hoping the other wouldn’t cause trouble, the successfully "escaped" secondary personality of Gu Ningxuan had already awoken. He moved his hands, savoring the real sensation he dearly missed.
He narcissistically admired himself in the mirror, showing a radiant but roguish smile. "Gu Ningxuan" contentedly stretched his hands and rubbed his cheeks, complaining slightly, "Tsk tsk tsk, what a good-looking face, utterly wasted by that guy, always keeping a stiff face. The facial muscles must be getting rigid..."
Checking the ti, "Gu Ningxuan" raised his hand to look at the schedule on his smart brain. Uh oh, still half an hour until off work.
Nonchalantly slinging the coat over his shoulder, he humd a military tune gone awry, planning to skip work. His ti out was limited, and the main personality wasn’t easygoing. If pushed too hard, self-harm might ensue, benefiting no one. Half an hour was still ti, after all; he didn’t want to waste it... With that thought, his resolve to leave work early strengthened.
Yet, the world never lacks obstacles. Guan Changxi ca by to check the store and discovered "Gu Ningxuan" about to walk out. He frowned and said, "What’s Mr. Gu up to? I think there are still thirty-four minutes until you finish work?"
Normally, Gu Ningxuan was punctual, even bidding goodbye when leaving early. Now, his attitude... Sothing about his style seed a bit off! Guan Changxi pondered, but didn’t dwell on it.
Hearing this voice, "Gu Ningxuan" stiffened, and his smile imdiately froze, then tightened, adopting the signature expression of the genuine Gu Ningxuan—an impassive face. Turning to Guan Changxi, he said, "Out to buy so things, very urgent."
Guan Changxi, not an unreasonable robot, nodded and said, "In that case, Mr. Gu, do co back early and be careful on the road."
Once "Gu Ningxuan" had disappeared from view, Guan Changxi finally sensed sothing amiss, silently thinking, "Sothing’s not right. That guy just received his salary. Does he have Credit Points now? I tricked him before, and he’d have to wait until next month to receive his wages..."
