They found the tram stop without difficulty, the morning foot traffic giving them enough of a crowd to follow in the right direction without consulting the map every thirty seconds.

The stop itself was a covered platform set into the pavent. It looked like a bus stop back on earth. It even had a route board on the wall listing destinations and estimated arrival tis.

Lukas checked it, confirming what the worker had told them.

"This is the one," he said, pointing at the route they needed to take.

And so they stood there, waiting. A few trams ca and went, but they were not the one heading to where they wanted to go.

But four minutes later, the tram they were waiting for arrived, slowing to a stop before them.

They boarded, found seats near the window, and a minute later, were on the move, with the city moving past the glass.

"Look at that," lody said to Akira, nodding towards a stretch of the street where three of the hovering cars were parked outside a building with large windows.

The vehicles sat at slightly different heights, but all three of them looked like monster trucks.

"I want one," Akira said.

" too," lody said.

"You guys know they’ll be expensive, right?" Lukas chuckled.

"I’m sure everything here is expensive," Akira pointed out. "That hasn’t stopped us yet."

"I don’t think you understand. A car is a different kind of expensive."

"We have at least five hundred thousand gold coins between us," lody said. "I’m sure we’ll be able to afford it."

"We agreed to use that money for establishing ourselves here," Lukas said. "How else are we going to pay for our accommodation, food, and other expenses when we’re on the Second Floor?"

"We could budget for a car," Akira said, shrugging. It was clear that she’d already decided she would buy one and was simply just looking for a justification.

"We’ll see," Lukas said. It wasn’t as if he wouldn’t like a car too, but it could be crazily expensive. And that could be the reason no one had one in Havenhart. Who knows?

Soon, their conversation shifted to the Second Floor itself.

As they moved, they discussed what to expect and what they needed to prepare for. They still didn’t know which of the spatial gates they’d be using full ti or where they’d actually stay for now.

"The contract said they’ll help us acclimate to the Second Floor, right?" Akira asked.

"Yeah," lody nodded. "They’ll help us find our feet, so we’ll at least have that. Rember we added a clause to have soone with us on our first dungeon run. And we won’t have to share whatever loot we get."

"That was actually a good deal," Lukas said with a smile. "But I’m more worried about completing the [Void Walker] class change quest."

"Twenty-four hours barefoot in a straight line," Akira said. "I’m still thinking about that."

"Don’t think about it too hard."

The tram slowed at the transfer stop. They alighted, waited on the platform, and boarded the sector seven line when it arrived.

This tram was busier. There were also a large number of Adepts among the passengers. Lukas saw elves, drows, and humans, all in the sa tram.

It was clear this was a common occurrence, as an Awakener sat next to an Adept, each one minding their own business.

After a few hours and different stops, the city center ca into view.

lody straightened in her seat, while Akira leaned closer to the window.

They caught sight of the City Lord’s mansion. The building had a low fence, and large grounds, sitting isolated in the middle of the city.

Workers took care of the grounds, officials moved in and out of its gates, and the guards stood there in full regalia.

Beside it, the administrative building rose tall and wide, looking like a skyscraper standing beside the shorter mansion.

"So, that’s where the Le Fay family rules from," Lukas said quietly.

"Her father basically runs the city from there," lody confird.

They watched it pass.

Several hours later, the tram slowed again and the stop indicator showed their destination.

They stood, moved to the doors, and stepped out onto the sector seven platform.

The street around them was quieter than the sectors they had passed through. It had wider pavents, and more space between buildings.

They stood there for a mont, looking around to get their bearings.

Lukas found the street sign the worker had described to them, standing at a wide avenue running perpendicular to the main road.

This street was beautiful, lined with trees that had been planted at even intervals, their branches eting overhead in a loose arch.

"This way," he said.

They followed the avenue for several minutes, the buildings around them growing more spaced out.

Then they entered another street that looked deserted, with the occasional luxury car passing by.

Lukas could tell they were being watched, but that was to be expected.

In this street, all he could see was fences, and gates. The buildings here were set back from the street, with so even obstructed from view by large trees.

They saw the fence first. It ran along the left side of the avenue in a continuous line. And soon, they arrived at the gate.

It was made of iron, and through the bars, they could see an immaculate lawn beyond. In the distance was a beautiful white mansion.

The mansion itself was large, with the sa tall windows one would see in the ho of a billionaire back on earth.

Exchanging glances, they approached the gate.

Four guards stood at the entrance, with two on either side. They were all armored, their S-rank Adept auras radiating around them.

Unlike one would expect, they didn’t flex their aura, so even if an E-rank Awakener passed, they wouldn’t feel any pressure at all.

One of them stepped forward as Lukas and his wives drew near.

"State your business."
