Now reading: Chapter 129 - 129 - Ciri and the Court Wizard; from Game Of Thrones: The King's Court Wizard, a Other novel by TheGreatPrince.

Triss was startled when Cadmus returned carrying a headless body on his shoulder and a severed head in his hand. She was not a cowardly woman, much less an innocent one, but seeing soone holding a dead body on their shoulder and a severed head in their hand was terrifying, especially at night.

Cadmus had been gone for no more than twenty minutes and returned with a body and a head. Looking at the features of the body and the head, she saw it was a child, no more than twelve or thirteen years old!!!

Paying no mind to the red-haired witch, Cadmus flicked his wrist, and a tal table flew out of his bag, followed by several tal instrunts. The Court Mage laid out the body and the head of the twelve-year-old adolescent.

Seeing this, Triss looked at Cadmus with a frightened gaze; she hadn't expected Cadmus to be like a necromancer, interested in the human body and research into death and the soul. At that mont, she felt Cadmus was not suitable to be Ciri's teacher.

With a snap of his fingers, an apron covered his body, while a transparent mask appeared on his face. As for Triss's eyes, he chose to ignore them; before him lay the corpse of a saint, a being said to be the bridge between the Divine and Humanity.

Holding a scalpel, Cadmus approached the body and undressed it completely. The body was full of scars, besides missing one of its arms. Looking at the dried blood on the body, the mage discovered a colorful touch diluted in the red blood.

This was interesting; human blood was red because of hemoglobin, an iron-rich protein present in red blood cells. Cadmus was curious about what caused the mutation in the Saint of the Seven Stars' blood. After all, even magic did not alter the human body. Of course, that was without using blood magic to alter so part of the body or even grafting sothing foreign onto the human body.

Triss noticed the red blood mixed with other colors and showed a shocked look. She had only read books about such a thing and knew what it ant in human blood. Her fear of Cadmus vanished completely at that mont.

First and foremost, Triss was a mage, and a mage was a scholar addicted to knowledge. Anything unknown was more attractive than anything else. Mages had the bad reputation of being demons for a reason. They studied everything, including the human body.

How could normal people have such a discovering spirit and be so full of curiosity about the unknown?

Gulping, Triss approached Cadmus and looked at the body on the tal table with a bright gaze.

"I want to see his heart; anwhile, you can open his brain." Of course, Cadmus understood Triss's intentions, but he didn't mind having an assistant at that mont. His ti was limited, so he wanted to preserve the organs as soon as possible.

Triss's eyes narrowed into a cheerful arc, and she quickly put on an apron to prevent blood from splashing on her, but she didn't have the transparent mask that Cadmus had.

Cadmus no longer cared about Triss and focused on opening the chest of the Saint of the Seven Stars. The scalpel cut the skin of the chest in a straight line down to the pelvis, and with two iron pliers, he pulled the skin to the sides, revealing the entire rib cage and more.

Looking at the intact organs, Cadmus noticed that the seven-colored light was mainly focused on the specin's heart. This led the Court Mage to believe that the source of the saints' power was located in the heart and not in the brain, as he had previously expected.

'No, blood flows through the entire body; it's natural for it to cause mutation in any part of the body. The brain may have suffered a mutation because of the mutant blood,' Cadmus thought with a bright gaze. He looked to the side and saw Triss opening the specin's skull, revealing the brain.

As Cadmus expected, the brain's gray matter was different. The gyri and sulci of the human brain were glowing with a very beautiful seven-colored hue, showing that the blood had indeed caused a mutation in the brain.

Rembering that the Saint of the Seven Stars was a warrior saint rather than a mage saint, Cadmus estimated that this mutation was linked to reflexes and control of the human body. After all, what the Saint of the Seven Stars did by dodging his and Kinvara's attacks was not humanly possible, even with magic!

"The brain shows clear mutations; what these mutations caused still needs to be investigated thoroughly. However, I discovered that the brain size is 30% smaller than a normal brain. Despite the size, it weighs twice as much as a normal brain," Triss comnted in a calm tone, her eyes shining more than ever.

Cadmus showed a thoughtful expression as he looked at the red blood mixed with seven colors. He touched the blood with his hand and felt a touch of familiarity with it. He frowned, feeling this.

Suddenly, Cadmus took a vial from his bag and looked at the transparent liquid inside. He looked at the blood and then at the vial with a calm expression. He understood where he felt the familiarity with the saint's blood.

The poison that was in the bodies of the mbers of House Targaryen was made from the saint's blood!

'Does that an the blood is poisonous to common people, besides the saints themselves?' Cadmus showed a thoughtful expression. He looked at the blood on his finger and showed a deep look.

He checked his own body and felt nothing abnormal, aning the blood is not transmissible just by skin contact.

While Cadmus was performing the experint, the tent entrance was opened, and Rhaegar's voice sounded. "Cadmus, Jon and Robert are two unscrupulous bastards—"

Rhaegar was about to continue when he saw the scene inside the tent. Not just him; the mbers of the Kingsguard looked stunned at the interior of the tent.

Under the flickering torchlight, Cadmus and a woman could be seen dissecting a child's body...

"Sorry to interrupt, I'll co back another ti," Rhaegar said in a dry tone, and as he was ready to flee the tent, Cadmus's voice made him stop in his tracks.

"Co et the origin of the poison."

Rhaegar turned around and approached with a cold look, staring at the child on the tal table with a chilling gaze.

"Was it him?" the king asked in a terribly cold tone; he didn't even care about the suspicious woman in Cadmus's tent.

"Yes, his blood, to be more exact," Cadmus spoke in a calm tone, looking at the Saint of the Seven Stars with a deep gaze. "He is the Saint of the Church of the Seven; Kinvara and I killed him minutes ago."

Rhaegar knew where Kinvara was stationed, so he understood Cadmus's words. "It seems the Faith of the Seven decided to reach the Trident but was intercepted by you and Lady Kinvara."

"Furthermore, I didn't expect sothing as mythical as a saint to actually appear," Rhaegar said in an emotional tone. The bastard who had caused so much pain to House Targaryen was before him, being dissected like an animal.

Rhaegar frowned, thinking of sothing, and asked in an uncertain tone, "However, you said the poison has been administered to the female mbers of House Targaryen for hundreds of years. This piece of trash looks like a child."

Cadmus pointed to Triss beside him and spoke in a calm tone. "Ask her how old she is."

Rhaegar didn't ask, just looked at Triss with a calm and chilling gaze.

Faced with the king's deep and chilling gaze, Triss gave a dry laugh and replied in a calm tone. "I am seventy-three years old."

(Note: I know, her age is younger, but this is another world.)

"Magic is incredible; the sa applies to these saints who are favored by the gods," Cadmus said in a calm tone. Despite appearing twelve, this bastard was over two hundred years old.

"What do you want to do with his body?" Rhaegar asked in a cold tone.

"After I take out all the organs and study the rest of the body, I'll give it to you to do whatever you want." Cadmus certainly knew Rhaegar's intentions behind the question and spoke in a calm tone.

"Thank you," Rhaegar said with a genuine tone of gratitude. Even as a layman, he knew how precious such a body was. Cadmus giving it to him showed how sincere he was.

"No need to thank ; this bastard also poisoned my wife," Cadmus said in a cold tone. He looked at the Saint of the Seven Stars and felt he had killed the divine bastard too quickly. If he had known before, he would have tortured him for a long ti.

Rhaegar didn't stay in the tent any longer and left with a heavy mood, but without a weight on his shoulders.

Triss looked at Cadmus with a softer gaze; Cadmus was not the monster she had expected. Any other mage would have refused to part with such a precious body, but Cadmus didn't hesitate to give it to Rhaegar for him to take his revenge.

Although she didn't know what poison it was and its effect, from the king's tone, it was not a gentle poison.

"Let's continue, Triss," Cadmus spoke in a calm tone as he removed organ by organ, then drained all the blood.

Triss was also fast, and as an alchemist and a potions expert, her hands were precise and quick.
