The mont she entered Draco, Sansa heard beautiful music all around her.
The lody was graceful and sacred, as if drifting down from the heavens and rising from the depths of the soul at the sa ti.
It was unlike the rough folk songs of Westeros, and nothing like the deliberately ornate court music of King's Landing.
It was simply… beautiful.
So beautiful it made one want to cry.
Inside the carriage, the female guard sitting across from Sansa Stark wore a neat uniform with a longsword at her waist, looking valiant and heroic. Seeing Sansa's reaction, she smiled kindly.
"Lady Stark, welco to Draco."
Sansa nodded, but her gaze was drawn to the huge speakers mounted on the city walls. The music was coming from them.
The female guard followed her gaze and laughed.
"This song is called Draco. Many outsiders who hear it for the first ti feel an overwhelming urge to worship and a deep sense of inferiority."
She paused, then added sowhat sheepishly, "Although I've heard it many tis, I still get that 'country bumpkin entering the city' feeling every ti."
Only after speaking did she realize her words might have been inappropriate — after all, the person sitting across from her was the daughter of a great lord.
Sansa didn't mind. She smiled and said, "These songs are truly wonderful. Draco is such a magical place. It's already so magnificent while still under construction. I can't even imagine how stunning it will be when it's fully completed!"
A reverent light flashed in the female guard's eyes. She looked toward the core district of Draco and gave a crisp military salute.
"This is a land blessed by the gods. Lord Luke is the incarnation of the Seven on earth. Only he can lead the people to prosperity and strength."
Looking at the guard's devout expression, Sansa couldn't help but recall the mont at the tourney.
That Lord Luke had been invincible. In front of the entire crowd, he had placed the crown of the Queen of Love and Beauty upon her head.
In that instant, the whole arena had cheered, and every eye had been fixed on her.
Her pretty face flushed involuntarily.
The female guard noticed the change and winked at her.
"Lord Luke is still unmarried. Right now, every girl in the territory dreams of becoming his wife."
Sansa asked curiously, "Even common-born girls?"
"Of course," the female guard said matter-of-factly. "The Seven Gods Bible states that any daughter of a Jaqenion subject, as long as she is of pure birth and a maiden, has the right and possibility to marry a Celestial Dragon."
Along the way, she kindly introduced Sansa to all kinds of things about Draco.
The smooth streets, the orderly houses, the dazzling shops, the spirited pedestrians… everything felt so fresh and wonderful.
Sansa was completely enchanted by this magnificent, dreamlike city.
The female guard gave her a beautifully bound book.
"This is The Seven Gods Bible. Everyone in Draco has a copy. It contains many of the Seven's teachings and the deeds of the Celestial Dragons. If you want to learn more, you can also read The Celestial Dragon Epic and The Legend of the Holy Knights."
She added, "These are all required reading for the Draco civil service examinations."
Sansa accepted the book with a gentle smile.
"Thank you, Miss Charlotte."
The female guard smiled. "Just call Charlotte. I'm only a third-grade female agent."
The carriage stopped in a garden.
This was Luke's temporary residence — the "Wooden House District."
Several beautifully designed wooden houses were scattered elegantly among the gardens, surrounded by lush trees and blooming flowers.
A small stream flowed nearby, its water crystal clear.
The mont Sansa stepped out of the carriage, a maid wearing a strange but elegant outfit (Earth-style maid uniform) ca forward to greet her.
The maid wore black stockings and high heels… Sansa knew these novel items were currently the favorite topics of discussion and envy among the noble ladies and young maids of King's Landing. She had once fantasized about owning a pair herself.
The maid's bearing was in no way inferior to the noble ladies of King's Landing. Standing before her, Sansa even felt a little self-conscious.
The maid bowed respectfully.
"Lady Sansa, welco. I am Annie, one of Lord Luke's personal maids. Your room has already been prepared. Lord Luke is currently occupied with territorial affairs and cannot greet you in person. He will receive you at dinner tonight."
Sansa nodded. She took out a letter from her bosom.
"Thank you for Lord Luke's hospitality. This is a personal letter from my father to Lord Luke. Please make sure it reaches him."
Sansa was led into the wooden house.
The mont she stepped inside, she was stunned.
The interior facilities, decorations, and layout left her completely amazed. Soft sofas, bright lighting, exquisite ornants, and many things she had never seen before… mirrors and other appliances?
She had never known that a house made of wood could be so beautiful and comfortable. It was many tis better than Winterfell's castle or the Red Keep.
At dinner, she finally t Lord Luke.
He wore well-tailored clothing, stood tall and straight, with handso features and an outstanding presence. He looked like a knight who had stepped out of a storybook, or a legendary hero!
Sansa's heart skipped a beat.
She took a deep breath and curtsied gracefully.
"Greetings, Lord Luke. Thank you for taking us in. Please allow , on behalf of Winterfell, to offer my most sincere gratitude. Thank you for saving my father and from King's Landing."
Luke stepped forward and gently helped her up.
"No need to be so formal. I have great respect for Lord Eddard's character. This was only right."
He sighed.
"Unfortunately, Lord Eddard has returned north. Still, having the beautiful Lady Stark grace us with her presence brings honor to my humble ho. Please forgive that my castle is not yet finished, so the daughter of the Lord of Winterfell must temporarily stay in a wooden house."
Under the glow of the LED lights, Sansa's pretty face grew even redder.
"Lord Luke, please just call Sansa."
Luke looked at her and raised an eyebrow slightly.
Even without using spiritual power, he could feel the girl's emotions. That affection was practically overflowing from her blue eyes.
Under spiritual detection, Sansa was enveloped in a layer of pink light.
The corners of his mouth curved upward involuntarily.
Was his charm really this strong?
Dinner was prepared by a five-star chef Luke had brought from Earth.
The exquisite plating, rich flavors, and ingredients Sansa had never seen before once again left the Northern girl pleasantly surprised.
Soon, Sansa made three good friends.
Annie and Emma — the pair of Water Maiden sisters. They were gentle and kind, very good to her, and often took her around Draco to explore.
And Tyene Sand… the Dornish Sand Snake.
She could clearly sense Tyene's "hostility" toward her. The other girl openly admitted she was Lord Luke's woman and subtly warned her to back off.
How dare she?
The maid sisters, however, were much friendlier. They frequently took her to various places.
One day, they arrived at the "Everlasting Love Chapel."
It was a uniquely designed building with pure white walls, pointed towers, and exquisite carvings.
Sunlight shone upon it, as if coating it with a layer of holy radiance.
Annie told her, "Lady Sansa, this is the Everlasting Love Chapel. The most romantic and sacred place in Draco. It is the dream destination for every girl in Draco."
She explained, "People hold their weddings here. Draco promotes freedom of marriage, but to get married in Draco, you must register at the civil affairs office and obtain a marriage certificate. After that, the couple's marriage will be protected not only by the Seven Gods, but also by the laws of Draco."
"Weddings held at Everlasting Love are witnessed by at least one knight, one bishop, and many mbers of the clergy. Territorial officials will also officiate. Sotis, Lord Luke himself will attend. The newlyweds will receive blessings from the entire God-blessed land."
As she spoke, solemn and sacred music began to play.
It was the Wedding March.
The mont the lody sounded, all the girls froze.
The music was too beautiful.
So beautiful it made one's heart tremble.
Listening to it, all the girls — including Sansa and even the Sand Snake Tyene — felt an inexplicable tightening in their chests.
They suddenly wished they could put on a holy wedding dress and marry any boy right then and there!
This was the power of music!
Tears shimred in the girls' eyes.
The bride and groom's families and friends arrived.
Soon, another particularly beautiful lody played. It was 1000X — the song for the bride and groom's entrance.
Accompanied by the music, the bride appeared in a pure white wedding dress, led by her parents. The groom wore a sacred white suit.
During the vow exchange, the background music changed to One Last Ti.
The bishop asked solemnly:
"Godwin, do you take Glory to be your wife? To love her, cherish her, and be faithful to her in sickness and in health, in good tis and in bad, until death do you part?"
"Glory, do you take Godwin to be your husband? To love him, cherish him, and be faithful to him in sickness and in health, in good tis and in bad, until death do you part?"
Sansa Stark clasped her hands to her chest and silently mouthed, "I do."
She felt as if she were the bride on the stage.
The bride and groom recited their vows:
"I, Godwin (Glory), before the Seven Gods and all our family and friends, do solemnly swear. From this day forward, in good tis and in bad, in sickness and in health, in wealth and in poverty, I will love you, cherish you, and be faithful to you until the end of my days. This is my solemn vow."
Then they exchanged rings.
Finally, the groom kissed the bride in front of everyone.
Sansa Stark's pretty face flushed crimson.
As the couple exited to the recessional, the background music changed to Marry You. The cheerful lody made one want to dance along.
During the reception performances, Lover, A Thousand Years, Perfect, and Nothing on You played.
The lodies were beautiful, the lyrics direct and passionate.
As the saying goes, music has no borders.
In fact, it can transcend ti and space.
Even the natives of Westeros, upon hearing these songs, were completely captivated.
The girls left the chapel reluctantly.
Annie whispered playfully in Sansa's ear:
"All these songs were created by Lord Luke. He is so talented! Which one do you like? I'll play it for you tonight. I have a magical MP3 in my room — it's a magical device Lord Luke gifted !"
Sansa's beautiful eyes sparkled.
"Really?"
The maid sisters dragged her off for a crazy shopping spree.
Only then did Sansa Stark discover that there was such a wonderful thing in the world as shopping.
While trying on clothes, Sansa blushed and stamred, "I don't have that many gold dragons…"
She was shocked by the price tags. One dress cost 69 gold dragons — so expensive?
The cheapest pair of high heels was 99 gold dragons!
Annie held up clothes against her and giggled, "It's fine. This is the most luxurious store in Draco. Even I can't afford it normally. But this is Lord Luke's business. We can just put it on Lord Luke's account. I have a monthly allowance of one thousand gold dragons, hehe!"
"You're an honored guest, so you definitely have an allowance too. If not, put it on my account!"
