Zhao Donglai asked Luo Fei to pack up his things, while he entered the office with Zhou Weimin. After about half an hour, Zhao Donglai ca out of Zhou Weimin’s office, and then Luo Fei bid farewell to everyone at the police station before leaving.
As he left the police station, Luo Fei turned to look back at the place where he had stayed for the past few months, feeling a sudden wave of reluctance. However, once he turned his gaze forward again, that reluctance was quickly gone.
The police station in Songxin Town was rely the starting point of his ambitions; he aid for greater and farther horizons.
The distance between Songxin Town police station and the detective unit wasn’t far, just a few kiloters. In less than ten minutes, Luo Fei and Zhao Donglai arrived at the detective unit.
After getting out of the car.
Looking at the office building of the detective unit, Luo Fei couldn’t help but feel a bit excited. He had visited the unit a few tis before, often wondering when he would finally be able to work in the detective building. Zhao Donglai instructed Yang Su, then turned to Luo Fei and said, "From now on, you’re a mber of the detective unit. Work hard. Both Director Wu and I have high expectations for you. I’ve vouched for you in front of Director Wu, promising to nurture you into a talented asset. Don’t let us down."
"I will." Luo Fei nodded deeply, genuinely grateful for Zhao Donglai’s faith in him.
Once Zhao Donglai left, Yang Su led Luo Fei to the Group One office.
"Wang Lei, Xia Zheng, Zhong Jun," Yang Su introduced the three mbers of the detective unit’s Group One to Luo Fei.
Wang Lei was a thin-frad guy with small eyes; Xia Zheng, with short curly hair, was tall and slender, resembling a Korean pop star; Zhong Jun was the most typical detective among the three, with a square face, crew cut like Yang Su’s, and a sturdy build.
"Luo Fei."
Luo Fei shook hands with the three.
"You’re quite the celebrity, Luo Fei. All of us know you, isn’t that right, Xia Zheng, Zhong Jun?" Wang Lei asked Xia Zheng and Zhong Jun with a smile.
Zhong Jun nodded, and Xia Zheng followed with, "Definitely. Hardly anyone in the detective unit doesn’t know about Luo Fei. He was awarded a personal third-class rit at the comndation ceremony for the Su Xiao and Tang Youquan murder cases, just like Officer Zhao. But the coolest part was when Luo Fei captured Jiang Sanqiang bare-handed. Everyone in the detective unit knows about that."
"It was all just luck," Luo Fei replied modestly. eting new colleagues for the first ti, he didn’t want to co off as too presumptuous.
"Luo Fei is now one of our team mbers. He’s just joined, so you three should support him in both work and life," Yang Su reminded from the side.
"Of course, boss. We’re all part of a team," Wang Lei confidently assured.
Following that, Yang Su began introducing Luo Fei to the rest of the team.
Technical room.
Wu Xiaoyue had just returned from the restroom to the technical room. She spotted Zhao Donglai bringing Luo Fei over from the playground area.
So upon returning to the office, Wu Xiaoyue walked up to Yang i, who was comparing fingerprints, and gossipingly said, "Yang i, guess who I just saw on the playground?"
"Who?" Yang i asked nonchalantly without looking up.
"It’s Luo Fei from the Songxin Town police station, the sa little cop who received a personal third-class rit at the last comndation ceremony and captured Jiang Sanqiang," Wu Xiaoyue emphasized, fearing Yang i might not recognize Luo Fei.
"Luo Fei?" In doubt, Yang i lifted her head to look at Wu Xiaoyue.
"Yes, it’s him. I just saw Officer Zhao bringing Luo Fei here. I wonder what he’s here for? But truth be told, this little cop is really impressive; not only did he earn a personal third-class rit but also captured Jiang Sanqiang. He’s more competent than many of us in the detective unit, and I heard a rumor that Luo Fei isn’t even a police academy graduate but entered the police station through a public service exam."
Thinking for a mont, Yang i hesitantly said, "Perhaps Luo Fei is being transferred to the detective unit."
"Transferred to the detective unit. Did you hear anything about that, Yang i?" Wu Xiaoyue asked Yang i, full of gossip.
"My uncle ntioned wanting to transfer Luo Fei to the detective unit last ti," Yang i replied.
"Then it’s likely," Wu Xiaoyue agreed.
Just as Yang i and Wu Xiaoyue were discussing Luo Fei, Yang Su had already brought Luo Fei to the technical room.
"Yang i, Xiaoyue, what are you discussing?" Yang Su asked as soon as he entered the room.
"Group Leader Yang, why are you here? Do you need sothing?" Yang i inquired upon seeing Yang Su and Luo Fei enter, then curiously glanced at Luo Fei.
Yang Su shook his head with a smile, saying, "No particular reason, just bringing the newcor to get acquainted with everyone."
"Luo Fei, have you been transferred to the detective unit?" Yang i looked at Luo Fei in surprise.
"Yes," Luo Fei nodded.
