In the evening, the Criminal Police team had dinner at Taibai Building. It was truly to reward the officers, and indeed to welco Luo Fei.

That night, Luo Fei’s unmatched alcohol tolerance once again made him the champion of the night. Saying he single-handedly took out the entire Criminal Police team might be an exaggeration, but saying he outdrank all the n in the team is absolutely no exaggeration.

The first to be knocked out was the team leader Zhao Donglai. Honestly, Zhao Donglai could hold his liquor, but there were too many people toasting him, resulting in him being the first to fall.

After the feast, Luo Fei parted ways with the Criminal Police team and refused the kind offer from his colleagues who hadn’t been drinking to drive him ho. It wasn’t because he felt embarrassed; it was because, having just integrated the cheetah speed gene today, Luo Fei seed to have developed a liking for the feeling of running. He wanted to run ho.

Feeling the power beneath his feet brought a sense of indescribable satisfaction to Luo Fei. He decided that from now on, he would run to and from work, not considering other ans of transport.

Luo Fei was running along Shuncheng Avenue.

"Isn’t that Luo Fei, Sister Yang i?" At another traffic light intersection, Yang i and Wu Xiaoyue were waiting at the red light in their car when Wu Xiaoyue suddenly spotted Luo Fei running along Shuncheng Avenue and exclaid in surprise.

Upon hearing this, Yang i turned to look as well, "It is Luo Fei. He drank so much tonight, and yet he’s fine. Is he running ho?"

"Probably! But, Sister Yang i, don’t you think Luo Fei runs very fast and gracefully, different from everyone else?"

"Uh, it does seem graceful, like a beauty of power." Yang i nodded in agreent.

"Sister Yang i, you noticed it too; I thought only I could see it."

When Luo Fei got ho, Wu Yan and the others hadn’t gone to bed yet. Luo Fei had called Wu Yan at noon to tell her that he’d been transferred to the Criminal Police team and wouldn’t be ho for dinner as he would be dining out with his new colleagues.

Just as he opened the door,

"Brother’s back!" ca Luo Xiaoxiao’s delighted voice.

"Brother, you got promoted and transferred to the Criminal Police team?" Luo Xiaoxiao eagerly asked as soon as Luo Fei entered.

Luo Fei smiled, shaking his head, "Just transferred to the Criminal Police team, not really a promotion."

"How can it not be? Being a detective is so impressive and dignified; many guys in my class want to be detectives." Luo Xiaoxiao countered.

"Luo Fei, you’ve really been transferred to the Criminal Police team?" Wu Yan was still a bit incredulous. She knew Luo Fei had beco capable lately, quite different from before, but he hadn’t been on the job long. Had he already been transferred to the Criminal Police team? It seed so outstanding it felt dreamlike to Wu Yan.

"Yes, I just reported to the Criminal Police team today." Luo Fei nodded.

Upon hearing Luo Fei’s confirmation, Wu Yan’s eyes reddened with happiness, proud of how accomplished her son had beco.

"If your dad knew how successful you are now, he’d surely be proud of you if he were still around." At this, Wu Yan couldn’t help but tear up again.

"Mm," Luo Fei rely nodded, as he had no recollection of his biological father and had never heard Wu Yan or his aunt ntion him.

"Right, after joining the Criminal Police team, you must keep working hard and not get complacent. Tomorrow, I’ll go to the market to buy so good food and invite your second aunt’s family and your uncle and aunt over for a celebration. Rember to co ho early after work." Wu Yan advised. Even though she worried about the potential dangers Luo Fei might face in the Criminal Police team, her joy and pride overwhelmingly overshadowed her concerns.

"Got it."

Imdiately afterward, Wu Yan used Luo Fei as an example to encourage Luo Xiaoxiao and Luo Hao to learn from him, lecturing them a bit.

"Mom, it’s late; both Xiaoxiao and Luo Hao have school tomorrow, and you need to get up early for work, too. Let’s get so rest." Luo Fei noted the ti was already midnight, prompting Wu Yan.

Only then did Wu Yan stop talking, urging Luo Xiaoxiao and Luo Hao to go to bed.

Luo Fei returned to his room, surfed the internet briefly for today’s news, and then began his studies—"Investigative Interrogation." Luo Fei had never slacked off in his studies over this period. Roughly estimating, he had gone through about twenty books, all related to police work: psychology, trace examination, docunt examination, criminal science and technology, etc. It could be said that the majority of Luo Fei’s money was spent on books.

The next day, Luo Fei ran to the Criminal Police team, arriving at 7:20 a.m.

However, when Luo Fei arrived at the office of Group One, he wasn’t the first to arrive; Yang Su had arrived even earlier.

"Captain, you’re here so early?" Luo Fei placed his belongings at his spot and asked.

Yang Su smiled, "I’m used to it."

Yang Su then continued with Luo Fei, "Regarding your work arrangents for the upcoming period, Zhao and I are thinking like this: You know, as criminal detectives, we are always on the front lines battling criminals. Although our profession has honor, that honor cos from countless sacrifices. Many outstanding detectives have lost their lives fighting criminals."

"So, having a strong physique, agile reflexes, and excellent shooting skills are all indispensable for us. You were at the police station before, and Zhao ntioned that you got in through the civil service exam, so you might be lacking in these areas."

"Therefore, Zhao and I have decided that for the next three months, your main task will be to train your body, improve your combat and shooting skills. We will arrange for people to guide you. After three months, there will be an assessnt. If you don’t pass, you’ll continue to train until you et the requirents."

"I understand, Captain, don’t worry." Luo Fei nodded. He wasn’t worried about combat; with his current speed, reflexes, and strength, even without formal combat training, he doubted anyone in the Criminal Police team could match him.

But shooting? Luo Fei had never been exposed to that and indeed needed proper learning.

At eleven in the morning, Yang Su brought Luo Fei to the Criminal Police team’s training grounds.

Already waiting there was a spirited old man, dressed in a white T-shirt, of average build, with a close-cropped hairstyle, and a rather fierce deanor.

"Sorry to keep you waiting, Mr. Wu," Yang Su greeted with a humble smile.

"Alright, you go on with your work." The old man glanced at Yang Su, then ushered him away before looking at Luo Fei behind him, "Heard you’re the one who caught Jiang Sanqiang?"

"Yes," Luo Fei affird confidently, sensing from the first sight that the old man had definitely been in the military before; his posture was too reminiscent of a soldier’s.

"And do you know that if it weren’t for your luck, you’d be in the morgue now, not standing here in front of ?" the old man continued.

Luo Fei shook his head, understanding what the old man ant. Indeed, for any other ordinary officer, things might have played out as the old man suggested; not only failing to capture Jiang Sanqiang but potentially falling prey instead. But Luo Fei, having a system of his own, knew the old man underestimated him.
