These stats... they were truly shocking. Was this the potential Nosphaleen had had in her from the beginning?
But it wasn't just this either. She had unearthed a great number of Skills-so many it felt almost comical. There were at least a hundred Skills, at least half of that in Gene Skills, and there were still more than a dozen Growth Skills on top of that.
As though that wasn't enough, she had nine Gene Class Forms, and a Gene Class Harmony that could combine all of them.
She had unearthed every single powerful sryx Path there was.
Seeing all of this, Sylas knew that he had made the correct decision. In fact, this decision couldn't have been more correct if he tried.
Gene Class Forms were the backbone of a Class. For Nosphaleen, they were technically Gene Beast Forms, as she had no Class, but instead her lineage as a sryx.
Normally, the caliber of talent a beast had could be decided by how many of their Ancestral abilities they had awakened.
Before this, Nosphaleen had none at all. She only had her sryx Totem, which acted as a Comprehension that could allow her access to so of the abilities of the sryx.
But it could be said that she could only truly be considered a sryx right now.
At most, before, she was a bastardized version of what the sryx were.
But she was not only a true sryx-she was no normal sryx either. She was the pinnacle of what a sryx could be.
From Sylas' mories, he knew that if a sryx awakened just three of their Gene Beast Forms, they would be highly treasured by their race.
Much like in humanoid races, the sryx had various factions and bloodlines, each one separated. Though they all shared a common ancestry, it was incredibly difficult for a single sryx to have awakened all nine of their core abilities-let alone the Beast Harmony that would allow them to all work in conjunction with one another seamlessly.
And under normal circumstances, this might actually be a good thing. That was because one existence couldn't possibly have the ti to maximize so many strengths at once.
A Gene Class Form-or a Gene Beast Form-was so powerful that it would take too much effort to maximize one, let alone them all.
But...
Nosphaleen wasn't alone. She had a master in Sylas whose ability was in helping the growth of his Contracts. He had a natural intuition for his Contracts as well-one that was especially strong for Nosphaleen because she wasn't a Legendary Beast, but rather "just" a Gold one.
Much the sa way the King Serpent's Ancestral Call had unearthed far more potential from Nosphaleen than it could have from Gogo, was much the sa way Vipermancy could bring out far more potential with much greater ease from Nosphaleen as well.
[Gene Beast Forms]
[Sinuous Grace][Veil of Effervesce] [Petalfall Mirage][Wings of Rhy] [Silken Reverie] [Gilded Fog] [Fleeting Caress] [Shimring Vein][Twilight Dance] -
Every one of these that Sylas read ca with a shocking ability.
With [Sinuous Grace], once the totem was active, perception of space would be bent. This acted on the world itself, not a person. aning, even if a person was resistant to illusions, they would find themselves missing attacks they felt should land-as though trying to spear a fish in the water.
[Veil of Effervesce] ford silky strands in the air that acted as powerful shields. These would be reflections of reality itself. While they would look as though they had been blocked and reflected, in truth reality was warping to change the direction of the attack back toward the user.
[Petalfall Mirage] caused a rain of blossoms to fall from the skies. Every touch was said to be capable of stripping away a random mory.
These mories were acute and related to things like how to control a Skill or Gene Talent. Essentially, it could forcefully lower the mastery of attacks the user was facing as though it had been cast from a lower level, bending the reality around it.
If the opponent was weak enough in relation to the sryx, these mories could be taken away permanently, or they could even rewrite the being entirely-taking away not just sothing as simple as the mastery of a Skill, but even the mories of their own family.
[Wings of Rhy] was probably the most powerful movent Skill Sylas had ever laid his eyes on. It worked curiously like his [Glassvolt Throne], comprehending the world around it and taking advantage.
But this ti, it matched the rhy of the world, using it to unrestrict the sryx's limits in speed, ignoring things like the sound barrier or even wind resistance.
By ignoring these things, a sryx could push its own physical Speed far beyond the limits of its Physical stats.
[Silken Reverie] tapped into the most carnal desires of a person and was probably the Skill the sryx were most well known for-pulling soone into an illusion, eating away at their Will, and forcing them into obedience.
The Clypsians also had so aspects of these abilities, but that was why Nosphaleen was such a good candidate for this Path in the first place.
[Gilded Fog] was a more combat-oriented form of [Silken Reverie]. It could create clones, form real-ti illusions that could often leave very real and lasting attacks. Bending the line between false and real, it could make a person question everything-until they were attacking even their own understanding of the world.
When [Gilded Fog] was matched with [Shimring Vein], though... that was when things truly beca shocking.
That was because, as far as Sylas could tell, this was actually a Path for the sryx to even begin influencing Ti, a synergy to break all synergies.
