There was a flash by Sylas' side and Yaro appeared. The snake construct looked up into the skies, his expression hard to read for more reasons than just the fact he wasn't a humanoid.
"I take it back." Yaro eventually said. "You're about as good a Rune Master as I am."
Sylas didn't respond, his mind still analyzing what happened. But he was running on fus at the mont. His thoughts weren't moving as smoothly as he would have hoped.
But this much was still fine. All that was left was this final mont.
He took a step and began to rise into the skies.
Yaro's body swam after him, sparkling motes of space and hints of what had actually begun to look like ti hanging onto him. He had only just heard Sylas' advice, yet he was already seemingly sensing Ti Runes.
However, what was clear was that his skill with Ti Runes was highly lacking, and compared to the A-Grade Spatial Runes he could command at his peak, these were just F-Grade Ti Runes, far inferior to Sylas.
But still, it was impressive. Sylas took silent note of it.
BOOM. BOOM.
A furious montum tore a path toward Sylas. He didn't even have to look over to know that it was the Lion Emperor. As powerful as he had grown compared to the past, he could feel that much of the Pride of his Lineage had been stripped down to bare bones and then rebuilt back up as sothing entirely different.
Although he had been elevated, the Whale, Serpent, and Ape had been elevated even more than that.
However, just as the Lion Emperor was about to reach Sylas, there was a ripple through the air and a woman pulling along a chained Scorpion Construct as though it was a little puppy rather than a hundred tis her size appeared.
Fanelei ca to a pause in front of Sylas, and as though on cue, all of the other Emperors surged over at the sa ti. They had just been trying to stop the Lion Emperor from doing sothing foolish, but it almost looked like they had co to greet Sylas in the skies.
"SYLAS GRIMBLADE!"
Fanelei looked over toward the Lion Emperor and snorted. A power descended from above and slamd into him like a pillar. He wavered in the skies and almost crashed down below. But before he hit the mountains, Sylas waved a hand and a great amount of power caught him.
He squeezed down and raised the Lion Emperor back up through the air, depositing him in the sa location he had been at before Fanelei struck him down.
Fanelei raised an eyebrow. Sylas wasn't one to show rcy at all. But in the end, she chose to just stand by and observe, her mind whirring with thoughts and questions. Just what level of Rune Mastery was this?
Suddenly, Sylas didn't feel like he was any weaker than herself. Was this the sort of power an E-tier should have the right to wield?
All of the Lion Emperor's montum seed to be deflated. His face was twitching with rage, but there was little he could do. He had never felt so helpless in his life.
He almost just wanted to look at Sylas and ask why. What had his Lion Lineage ever done to Sylas?
In truth, the Lion Lineage had never done anything to Sylas—at least not the Lion Emperor Lineage.
Technically, Fanelei's granddaughter and the 713th Lion Warlord of the 001 Sanctum had been annoyances, but it was never much more than that alone.
The trouble was that Sylas didn't like their Path, and he had just so happened to have stronger bouts of inspiration for the Whale, Serpent, and Ape than he had for the Lions.
It looked like he was targeting the Lion Lineage, and maybe he was in part. But that wasn't his entire intention.
"Recall your disciples from the Mancer Scape." Sylas said slowly.
The Emperors frowned.
"It is no longer necessary. Those who should be God Beasts will beco them upon exiting."
A flicker of realization extended the eyes of the Emperors. Could it be that there was no way for their disciples to sense the Spirits from within the Mancer Scape?
When they had the thought, their lips couldn't help but twitch. Could the solution to their troubles have been as simple as leaving their disciples in the Mancer Scape until they were strong enough to inherit their Ancestral Spirits?
Well, that wasn't as bad as it sounded. It wouldn't have been so easy to do that. Their Ancestor Emperors had only been in ditation for a few days and they had already been attacked. If they had to leave their disciples in there for years, what would have happened.
"Shouldn't we..." The Whale Emperor's gentle voice trailed off as she looked toward their enemies beyond the barrier and the few stragglers still within it.
Battle was still very much raging on within the barrier, while outside of it, their enemies were rapidly finding paths to escape.
"How far can they go without their ships? Their heads will be served on a platter whether they want to or not." Sylas said coldly.
The Whale Emperor's pupils trembled. From start to finish, Sylas had not ever looked at the Scorpion Lineage. In fact, when he was inside the Mancer Scape, he didn't make the slightest effort to try and find Keyesen though he could have easily.
He didn't even have Fanelei get revenge for him.
It was like he simply didn't care.
"I will go and retrieve them." The 713th Whale Emperor said gently.
In a flash and a sway of a silky illusory tail, she had vanished across the skies, appearing by the temple.
One after another, their Ancestors awakened and the temple began to shimr.
Then, alerted from the inside, the disciples began to return, confusion on their faces.
It seed that not a single one of them had successfully beco a God Beast...
Or so it seed.
Because the mont they stepped out, their Spirits resonated with the howling changes triggered by Sylas.
