"Immortal fairy…" Hearing the muttering of the woman in his arms, the guard moved and turned around.
His eyes trembled to see a woman floating a couple of inches above the ground without any support.
As the woman said, she appeared to be an immortal fairy. Even though her face was hidden by the white mask, he could say she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.
Her detached deanor gave her ethereal appearance even more charm. Once he looked at her, the guard could not take his eyes off the woman, but suddenly his eyes started to hurt.
"Argh!" When he looked away from the woman, the pain in his eyes disappeared instantly. The man realized that the pain was a warning from the woman and did not dare to directly look at her.
When he turned around, he realized that the woman was no longer in the sa place. She was now above another beast and slashed down with the gray sword in her hand.
He was shocked to see that, even though the woman was moving so slowly that he could see her moves clearly, none of the beasts could escape her sword.

One after another, head after head started to fly in the air. It did not take long before all the beasts lay on the ground as dead as they could be.
Even after all the beasts she had decapitated, there was not a single drop of blood on her clothes.
After beheading the last beast, the woman turned around and walked towards the guard and the woman.
"Ummm… Mr. guard." Hearing a ek voice right beside his ear, the guard felt a shiver down his spine before he snapped out of his daze.
He turned around and saw the blushing face of the woman he had been hugging with her son from the start. Seeing the blush on her face, the boy snapped out of his daze and imdiately moved away while blushing as well.
"I am sorry! Without knowing," he lowered his head while doing a slight bow, apologizing to the woman.
"Hu'er!!!" Hearing the scream of the woman instead of sothing else, he raised his head and saw the woman patting the face of her unconscious son.
The blood drained from her face as despair flooded back onto it. Her son's chest was rising and falling at a dangerously fast pace, and the sight scared her to death.
"Don't worry." Hearing an ethereal and soothing voice coming from before her, the woman stopped trembling and found herself calming down.
She raised her head and saw the masked beauty standing before her. Just from the mysterious woman's voice, she found her heart calming down.
She watched as the woman crouched down before her and placed her hand on her son's chest.
*Woosh!*
Her hand started to glow and soon the boy's breathing returned to normal. Tears stread down the woman's face as she hugged her son close to her chest.
"He just needs so rest and he will be fine." The woman raised her head more, hearing the sa soothing sound. Sothing about that voice told her that she could trust its owner.
*Thud!*
"What are you doing?" Xin Yan hastily asked, seeing the woman kneeling before her all of a sudden.
"You saved my son. I don't have anything to give in return… Please accept my bow!"
Xin Yan paused to hear the words coming out of the woman's mouth. Placing her hand over the woman's head, she said, "There is no way I will watch a mother's innocent little child get hard before my eyes."
Her words not only shocked the woman but also moved the guard's heart. His eyes glead in reverence as he thought, 'To think there are strong cultivators like her in the world.'
The rest of the guards had already closed the doors and were watching everything unfold from a small window on the wall in shock and daze.
"Who is that woman…?" One of the guards muttered in fear. He could still recall the way she slaughtered the horde of Rank 3 beasts, which even their Chief would have a problem dealing with a single one of them.
"She can fly in the air without the help of a flying sword; it seems she is a strong cultivator from the capital city." Another guard spoke up, making his guess.
"Indeed, she should be at least in the first level of the Core Formation realm." The old man who ordered them to close the gate nodded in confirmation.
"What's going on here?!" Just as they continued to speculate, another loud voice interrupted them, catching their attention.
They turned around and saw a middle-aged man making his way in their direction. Unlike the guards, the man had a sharper and more condensed aura, and even the aura of the old man paled in front of him.
"Chief Vel!" Seeing the bald middle-aged man, they all greeted him with a bow. Seeing fear and shock in the eyes of the guards, Chief Vel narrowed his baggy eyes.
"Tell , why are the gates closed, and what was that loud roar? Are we being invaded by the beasts?!" The bald chief asked once more, getting no response. He frowned and jumped up on the wall, climbing it before reaching the top.
His eyes widened in shock, his heart started to beat faster seeing the ground painted with blood. As the air blew, the sll of the blood reached his nose.
The man could not take his eyes off the dead bodies of the spirit beasts lying everywhere. He could imdiately tell that they were Rank 3 beasts.
While he was looking, the rest of the guards also ca up on the roof from the side entrance. Due to the long route they had to take, they were a little breathless.
"Just who in the hell saved us…" Just then, the chief's eyes landed on a masked woman kneeling on the ground before one of the won from their settlent.
