[Heavenly Axis Barrier]
While Wuhan was having a showdown with his mother inside the castle, Noah cast a barrier around the whole Royal Estate. Standing in the space above the city with Xin Yan, he could see beyond the shaking walls of the castle.
On the ground below them, Captain Black Sword was getting reports on everything that happened in the empire. Most importantly, he was being told about the woman claiming to be the forr empress of the The Feng Empire.
"She ca out of nowhere. Fortunately, Emperor had entered seclusion away from the capital and had left a formidable powerhouse to guard the palace." All the captains and generals had gathered in the area, fully equipped with artifacts and weapons.
Unlike most of them, Captain Black Sword was one of the few people who had survived the purge of the old empire and naturally knew about the Kin Slayer, Feng Niu.
"What a troubleso woman." Clicking his tongue in annoyance, Captain Blacksword stepped forward. ’Her cruelty and obsession with control was the reason the emperor had even chosen to participate in the battle for the throne. She had brought the demon out of him, sothing he barely managed to seal along with her. Just when things were going great, why did she have to return...?’
Suppressing the bitter feelings in his heart, the captain stepped forward and spoke. "Be prepared. We cannot let the Emperor—"
His words were cut short when a familiar voice echoed within his realm of consciousness. ’Don’t move.’
The captain raised his head and looked up. eting his eyes with Noah, he showed a look of confusion.
’This is sothing Wuhan needs to do alone. Focus on clearing the area; this is not a fight you can interfere in.’
Hearing this, the captain’s first instinct was to object, but then scenes from the great battle that shook the continent centuries ago flashed before his eyes, and he froze on the spot.
"What are you suggesting, Captain?" Despite knowing Captain Black Sword had a lower rank, even Generals held his opinion in high regard. His battle prowess and intelligence were well known even among the elites of the empire.
"We evacuate the area. If we charge in a battle of Budding Soul Realm Experts, we will only join the Debris from the aftermath of their collision."
While the Golden Core Realm Experts nodded in understanding, the Soul Formation Realm Generals did not seem to be fully satisfied with his words.
"You must be exaggerating captain, surly we can do so—" Words had barely left the mouth of one of the female generals when...
Boom!
The Palace which was previously shaking, suddenly cracked when one of its sides exploded out of existence.
From the gap, a wave of flas surged upwards in the shape of a charging phoenix.
The sheer size of the flas left the soul formation realm experts dumbfounded. Soon the attack collided with the golden barrier in the sky, and the flas spread out like a sea of fire, engulfing half of the sky above the estate.
The female General who was first to voice out doubts gulped down her words. Sweat dropped from her forehead as she spoke, "After careful consideration, I think what the Captain said is wise. We have to save the people from this madness."
"She did not even use her full power to deal with us on that day..." Another General shook his head with dejection and reproach.
"Does anyone know who deployed the barrier? Was it the Emperor?"
Captain Blacksword shook his head and replied, "There is no need to worry about the barrier. For now, spread out and focus on getting the people out of the estate. The barrier won’t stop us."

"Do you think this barrier will be enough to hold them both?" Xin Yan asked softly. She was sticking close to Noah, not even leaving an inch of space between them.
"Even when we were testing each other, the destruction was not on this level."
Xin Yan slowly watched the palace slowly crumble before her eyes. A faint purple barrier covered the older one like a piece of clothing.
"[Heavenly Axis Barrier] is not a simple skill but a powerful forbidden rank skill." Noah calmly explained the details of the skill to Xin Yan while covering the place with his illusionary barrier. ’Now no one outside the estate guards would know about this fight. We need stability in the empire until the war arrives.’
According to Noah, the barrier required hours of work to be deployed in such a vast area, but with his expertise, he managed to reduce the ti by less than 10 minutes.
The barrier’s main function was not to protect what’s inside it from external threats, but it was actually the opposite.
The barrier prevented soone targeted by it or their attacks from escaping. It used the energy from their attacks to heal and fortify the barrier.
Such a powerful skill was quite taxing to cast. Even with Noah’s trendous qi reserve that might have been close to Wuhan’s own in volu, it was drained by half.
"And like every other skill, this one has a limitation as well..." Noah whispered as his eyes drifted to the two figures that erged from the destruction of the Royal Palace.
Embraced by his golden armor, Wuhan rose into the air holding a flaming sword. The debris around him showed signs of burning despite its material.
On the other side, engulfed by the mystery of darkness, Feng Niu Erged. Her figure was completely hidden inside the dark fog, which pulsed like a living thing, licking the air around it.
"What a good boy. You have grown stronger since we last saw each other." A crooked chuckle escaped the bounds of the darkness, sending shivers down the spine of every creature that heard it.
"Seeing you stand here before , poised as an emperor, fills my heart with joy." Suddenly all the dark smoke stopped expanding. "It would be a sha as a mother for to not respond to your love with my own heart."
Wuhan kept staring at his ’mother’ in silence without showing any intention of making a move.
"Allow to make you bleed."
Shinnnnkkk!
A sharp noise like tal scraping against sothing hard or untouchable echoed in all directions, making weak cultivators bleed from their seven orifices.
They rushed to get out of the barrier while a mysterious gentle force was keeping them from dying.
"Let relive the day I gave birth to you and saw you for the first ti." Feng Niu exclaid, and the next second all the dark smoke suddenly started moving and contracting.
