"The City of the Wrongfully Dead?"
Lu Yuan's eyes narrowed as he read the words above the gate. Before, it had only been a guess. Now, he saw the truth with his own eyes. The words inscribed on the city gate couldn't be a lie, could they?
Was this truly the Netherworld?
His mind raced, and he could not help but feel a bit shocked. In Huaxian mythology, the City of the Wrongfully Dead was created by the Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha for the souls of those who had died unjustly.
The one who governed this city was said to be King Biancheng, one of the legendary Ten Kings of Hell.
However, much of Huaxia mythology was a blend of various traditions, and there was no single authoritative version. These myths could serve as supporting evidence and weren't to be blindly believed.
The City of the Wrongfully Dead stood right before Lu Yuan, so he was not inclined to doubt its existence. At the mont, he was also more concerned about those figures scaling the walls and whatever lay within the city.
"I'll know once I get inside." Lu Yuan smiled. Then, he stepped forward without any hesitation. He moved quickly and reached the gate of the City of the Wrongfully Dead in the blink of an eye.
Instead of imdiately entering the city, he examined the walls and discovered that they weren't actually black. The sheer amount of blood that had seeped into them was the reason they appeared pitch-black.
Yes, they were real blood rather than a re illusion. So parts of the walls were even scarred with the marks of sabers, spears, swords, and halberds.
He deduced that a terrible battle had once taken place here, at the legendary City of the Wrongfully Dead in the Netherworld.
Setting aside his concerns, Lu Yuan stepped through the gate.
Inside the city lay rows upon rows of buildings, and in the distance stood what appeared to be grand halls. However, the streets were completely empty.
Unlike the outside, the city was immaculate. He even spotted buildings resembling inns and shops in ancient tis. It looked like a genuine ancient city, and there was nothing unsettling about it.
The atmosphere here was completely different from what lay beyond the walls.
"This is..." Lu Yuan frowned in confusion, unable to make sense of it. In the end, he opened his Martial Dao Heavenly Eyes. Streams of light seeped out of his eyes, but he found nothing noteworthy. He couldn't discern anything strange.
Before he could deactivate his Martial Dao Heavenly Eyes, the entire city suddenly erupted with a bizarre will.

The will gave Lu Yuan not a sense of foreboding. Instead, it carried with it defiance, resentnt, and the boundless intent to fight. It was like the will contained the emotions of soone before they perished.

Lu Yuan was stunned, feeling even more shaken. He couldn't even begin to imagine what had transpired here. However, it seed he wouldn't be given ti to ponder any further, as the sound of marching footsteps reached his ears.

Lu Yuan closed his Martial Dao Heavenly Eyes and turned to find rows of armored soldiers advancing toward him. So carried long spears, others wielded sabers, halberds, or polearms. Each soldier had their own weapon.
Several figures on horseback moved at the forefront, and they charged at Lu Yuan.
At first glance, they appeared to be the commanders of this army, but they didn't have any fleshly body. Instead, they looked translucent as if they were made of so kind of energy.
An army of Yin Soldiers? Lu Yuan thought. He was reminded of a similar sight at Mount Li.
"Kill!" the commander at the head of the army bellowed. His jarring voice sounded similar to tal scraping against tal. At his command, the Yin soldiers behind him charged forward without hesitation.
Individually, these soldiers weren't particularly powerful, but their numbers were overwhelming. They looked like an endless swarm of soldiers.
Lu Yuan frowned slightly at the sight, yet he felt no fear. He took a single step forward, and the golden vital qi within him erupted.
BOOM!
A thunderous boom echoed as his golden vital qi transford into an ocean of gold, which emanated a fearso and dazzling light. Every Yin soldier that made contact with the light was forcibly scattered, dissipating into nothingness.
Even so, their relentless charge continued. It was like they truly stood on a battlefield as they moved ferociously to fulfill their superior's orders.
"Are they mindless beings? Or do they possess so intelligence?" Lu Yuan muttered with narrowed eyes.
Just then, his organs rumbled, and the Great Sun's Furnace manifested, banishing all darkness beneath its light as if it were the sun.
By now, Lu Yuan's organs had been completely divinized, becoming far stronger than ever.
As expected, the mont the Great Sun's Furnace appeared, hundreds of Yin soldiers perished. In less than half an hour, the entire army was annihilated, despite their overwhelming numbers. The streets were empty once more.
Lu Yuan relaxed slightly and prepared to venture deeper, but he noticed that the distinct will of defiance and resentnt had not faded away. If anything, it had grown stronger than before.
Soon enough, the very army he had just destroyed reappeared before him. Their ranks were as orderly as before, and their positions had not shifted in the slightest. The only difference was that their auras had grown more powerful.
They co back stronger after dying? Lu Yuan was astonished. This was far too similar to what he had experienced at Mount Li.
Jiang Ningxian had ntioned that the Primordial Dragon once led an army to this very place, intending to wage war across the starfields. Could this be that sa army?
"Kill!" the commander of the Yin soldiers roared, interrupting Lu Yuan's train of thought. The entire city trembled beneath the weight of the army's advance. There were just too many of them.
However, Lu Yuan remained unafraid. He stayed calm as he mustered his power once more.

Golden vital qi surged forth, and the Great Sun's Furnace once again, emanating a radiant and all-consuming light. Lu Yuan was really formidable. He was, in every sense of the word, unstoppable.
The army had beco stronger than before, but it still posed no threat to him whatsoever. Moreover, Lu Yuan also increased his power output. In less than half an hour, the army of Yin soldiers was annihilated once more.
Lu Yuan made no other move. He simply stood in place and waited. Sure enough, the army materialized again. Just as before, their positions remained unchanged, but their strength had increased yet again.
The pattern hasn't changed? Then I'll kill them all again. Lu Yuan smiled faintly. He wanted to confirm whether this place truly operated the sa way as the Mausoleum at Mount Li.
Just as he prepared to make a move, he sensed a powerful aura.
Monts later, a familiar voice reached his ears.
"King Lu, don't attack them! Get out of there!"
Lu Yuan turned and saw Jiang Ningxian. He had no idea when she had arrived here.
Jiang Ningxian descended and hurriedly added, "Let's go sowhere quiet first."
Before Lu Yuan could respond, he noticed another army behind her. It was a far more powerful army. Every soldier had reached the Unfettered Realm; each was strong enough to be considered a king in the outside world.
Clearly, Jiang Ningxian had destroyed that army multiple tis during her journey here. Otherwise, they wouldn't have grown that formidable. Moreover, her words just now suggested that she had discovered sothing.
