The trial squad returned along the sa teleportation passage they had used to arrive, heading back to the square of the God Court.
"It seems you all passed the assessnt. May I ask who bound with the Temple of Faith?"
"Yes." Ethan stepped forward. "I bound with the temple."
"Mm, very good. You all did very well. Keep it up."
The captain of the square's guard squad was not surprised. He nodded lightly, looked at Ethan, and said, "Co with . I'll take you to register at the Temple of Faith. The others may continue cultivating in the Temple of Faith. If there's no need, you may also go directly to the main hall to register."
Ethan turned back to the others and said, "I'll be back soon. Wait for , then we'll go register together."
Everyone nodded.
After Ethan left, Fang Heng turned his back and walked alone toward a side hall at the rear.
Gu Er felt puzzled and raised his hand to call out, "Hey, Zane!"
"The trial has ended. Goodbye, everyone."
The squad mbers looked at one another.
Strange.
They had fought together as teammates. Why was this person so peculiar?
Ethan was from the royal family of the God Clan. If an ordinary person could build a connection with royalty, wouldn't they rush forward to cling to him? Yet the man before them instead seed to be deliberately distancing himself.
"Probably just naturally withdrawn," the woman in the squad shrugged. "Let's go. We don't need to worry about him."
"But then our team is short one person again."
"Let's wait until Ethan cos back before deciding."
Among the group, Matthias watched Fang Heng's departing figure thoughtfully and said, "There's sothing wrong with his identity."
Hm?
Everyone turned to gaze at Matthias.
"Let's go check the list of participants for this trial. I think we'll have our answer."
Fang Heng had originally planned to return to the temple to raise his sacred study level, but on second thought, with so many people around and under the watchful eyes of the God Clan elders and guards, if he absorbed energy too quickly, he would definitely be discovered.
He might as well stroll around the various side halls of the God Court and see whether there were other places in the Holy Realm where he could obtain a large amount of the power of faith. If he was lucky, he might even find clues related to the Nether Emperor.
Having made up his mind, Fang Heng walked toward another side hall nearby.
Inside the side hall.
Quite a few young mbers of the God Clan were flipping through materials.
Fang Heng joined them and spent more than an hour quickly browsing through basic daily information such as maps of the divine realm continent, gaining a general understanding.
The divine realm was sowhat similar to the Holy Realm, but essentially different.
In the divine realm, there was only one main city district, the God Realm, also known as the central God Court.
Aside from the God Clan concentrated in the God Realm, the God Clan mbers in other regions were considered the lower strata of the clan.
Within the God Realm were established the Judgnt Court, the War God Court, the Arbitration Court, the Discipline Court, the Faith Court, the Glory Court, and the Elders Council.
Each God Court had floating islands built outside the God Realm, controlling the surrounding temples under their jurisdiction.
The central God Court was the nominal ruler and spiritual symbol of the God Clan, divided into the inner court and outer court. Under normal circumstances, the God Court did not issue commands. The body that truly made decisions on behalf of the God Clan's will was the Elders Council.
The place where he was now located was the Faith Court.
The God Clan had set up teleportation passages in various God Courts and within the God Realm. Under normal circumstances, they were patrolled.
He had gathered enough information.
Fang Heng returned the books to the shelves.
Unfortunately, he had not found any clues about the holy war of the Netherworld or the Nether Emperor.
"Zane, we've been looking for you for quite a while. So you were here. What, looking for so materials? I'm very familiar with this place. I can help you."
"Nothing. Just browsing."
Fang Heng turned back to look at Kaia and Gu Er, who had co together, and asked, "Sothing you need?"
"Ethan asked us to find you."
Gu Er was sowhat unconvinced. He felt Fang Heng had not shown much presence in the dayti battle and spoke in a muffled tone, "The next Tier 1 practical training is about to begin. Ethan told us to bring you back to the team."
"Sorry, I'm not interested..."
Gu Er placed a hand on Fang Heng's shoulder, interrupting him. "Zane, we already know."
Fang Heng's heart skipped a beat, but he remained calm.
"Know what?"
"We checked the list. Your na wasn't on it."
Not good.
His identity had been discovered.
Fang Heng's mind stirred, and he imdiately cald down.
If there had been an anomaly with his identity, it wouldn't be these youths who ca looking for him, but the God Clan guards.
So why had they co?
Fang Heng remained silent, waiting for them to speak first.
Gu Er couldn't hold back and continued, "Although we don't know how you handled to sneak into the trial, fine, now we understand why you were always so silent. Actually, it's not a big deal. You know Ethan's identity. As long as you speak up, he can definitely help you settle it."
Kaia said, "Zane, here's so good news. Ethan has already arranged a recomnder identity for you. Your na has now been registered on the master list."
Ah?
There was such a good thing?
Fang Heng remained expressionless on the surface, but inwardly he was overjoyed.
From what he had just read, he had gained so understanding.
The God Clan also had a hierarchy.
The royal family stood above all. Those born in the Central Divine Kingdom were upper class, those born around the various God Courts were middle class, and the rest were lower class.
It was very difficult for lower-class mbers to join this kind of trial.
Fang Heng didn't know what the initial screening conditions were, but from Gu Er's tone, Ethan had handled it for him?
Was his luck really that good?
Or was it a trap?
Fang Heng quickly cald down and thought it through.
The probability of it being a trap was very small, almost nonexistent.
However, continuing to follow this squad also carried risks. His identity could be exposed at any ti.
In the divine realm, his combat strength had been greatly weakened.
He should leave as soon as possible.
Gu Er pursed his lips and said, "Zane, can you return to the team now?"
"Thank you."
Fang Heng nodded in thanks.
...
Soon, the seven mbers of Ethan's squad regrouped in front of the central temple.
"Welco back to the team, Zane."
"Thank you, Ethan."
Fang Heng nodded to Ethan, then continued to remain silent within the group.
Ethan smiled slightly.
As a mber of the royal family who had awakened the Eye of God, unless he chose to lie flat, his future path would not be smooth sailing. He needed to recruit reliable companions and gradually build his own foundation.
He could see that Fang Heng was very strong.
Helping Fang Heng resolve his identity issue had not been troubleso.
There were too many God Clan mbers, like Fang Heng, who were born into poverty.
Born humble and lacking a letter of recomndation, they could not enter the upper ranks of the God Clan. The most likely outco was to beco an ordinary guard, never truly rising.
In Ethan's view, Zane was very talented and clever, sohow managing to sneak into the trial.
It had to be said.
He had intelligence, strength, and courage. Most importantly, he understood how to assess the situation.
Back in the temple, he had not asserted the inheritance of the stone tablet for himself, but had waited until Ethan awoke.
Ethan had a very high evaluation of Fang Heng.
As for the identity issue, he had never doubted Fang Heng's identity as a mber of the God Clan.
The unique sacred study power of the God Clan, the special racial aura, and the Eye of God's ability to see through illusions.
No one had ever successfully disguised themselves as a mber of the God Clan.
Fang Heng might have been the first in history.
There had simply been no way to guard against it.
