Tsk!

Cressida clicked her tongue in frustration as she forked out of an alley with a bright, relieved smile hanging on her face.

She did not care about the filthy sll coming from the alley or the gri sticking to her robes. The thought of losing the Grim Reaper pleased her mind greatly.

"I bet he must have escaped with his tail tucked between his legs," she chuckled as she sauntered off proudly, brushing off her clothes.

"Even though I have lost him for now, I need to plan my next move quickly. I can no longer stay in this town," she mused, lost in thought about her future.

"Those damned guilds, why are they not trying to save ?" she cursed hatefully under her breath.

Just as she walked a couple of steps forward, a foreboding feeling washed over her entire body.

It was as if death itself had co to claim her soul.

Hmm?

Goosebumps erupted all over her skin, and her hair stood on end.

Instantly, she halted in her tracks and raised her head to look at her surroundings. And behold, her nesis was standing right on her heel, watching her.

Ah!

She scread in terror and retreated a couple of steps backward, her heart racing.

’How is this possible?’ she thought frantically.

’Why did that bastard not stop him from following ?’

Many questions rushed to her panicked mind, but she did not dwell on them for too long. She turned and fled down the street.

That was right.

Flee.

That was the only thing she could possibly do now. Against the Grim Reaper, she knew she was as weak as an ordinary person facing a natural disaster.

However, this ti around, she had miscalculated badly. She thought Thoren would play by the rules once again, but he did not.

Thud! Thud!

The heavy sound of footsteps echoed rapidly from behind her.

They were closing in on her quickly.

She looked over her shoulder and saw four hollow, burning eyes locked onto her fleeing form.

"This is impossible," she shuddered violently.

Fear gripped her mind like a cold, unbreakable vice.

"Undead. Undead," she stamred in terror and pushed her speed to the absolute limit.

She raced through the crowded street, pushing everyone in her path aside without rcy.

"Get lost," she scread.

"Out of my way," she shouted.

Jackals or humans, it did not matter. She shoved everyone aside with her heart in her throat and her lungs burning.

’What should I do now?’ she asked herself desperately.

’What can I possibly do?’

She thought of using her previous trick to delay Thoren once again, but she quickly realized it would not work against him.

Against Thoren, only a few powerful individuals could stop him. And why would those few go against such a terrifying opponent for her sake?

The more she thought about her situation, the more she realized she had no real path of escape left.

With the undead servants locked onto her trail, she could forget about escaping unless she managed to defeat them in combat.

But could she truly defeat them?

She was rely a Level 24 Spell Caster.

Deadly and powerful against ordinary opponents, but against a Necromancer with so many undead servants under his control, her profession seed woefully lacking.

Ah! Ahhh!

She panted heavily as she raced through the winding street, pushing her body far beyond its normal limits. But when she looked over her shoulder again, the undead servants were only a couple of ters behind her.

They were closing in fast, and in the next couple of minutes, they would inevitably catch up to her.

"Nooooooo," she scread in pure desperation.

Her piercing screams gathered the attention of everyone on the busy street. They looked at her and saw the two dark figures in black robes chasing relentlessly after her.

"Please, help ," Cressida scread with fake tears in her eyes. "They want to capture and rape ."

When many young n in the crowd heard this, they could not help but crease their brows in anger.

Rape was sothing no honorable man could ever accept. Even though the Jackals treated humans like animals, they could not accept such a cri from their fellow humans.

Without any hesitation, a few young n rushed toward her. Their faces were filled with righteous indignation and fury.

"Do not worry, we will protect you," one of them said confidently as he shielded her with his own body.

Another young man looked at the two figures rushing toward them and sneered with contempt.

"Stop right there. How dare you try to rape an innocent woman?" He unsheathed his katana and raised it high over his head.

Beside him, a young man full of overflowing muscles took his heavy shield from his back and positioned it firmly before him.

The three n were all brimming with a misguided sense of justice and heroism. Across the street, humans and Jackal Beastn had already gathered in a large crowd, watching the show unfold.

Many expected the Jackal Beastn guards to try to stop the impending battle, but to their shock, the guards seed to ignore the commotion completely.

When Cressida saw this strange behavior, she was confused but did not dwell on it. Her gaze fell on her three ignorant saviors, and a bright, cunning smile appeared on her face.

Slowly, she took a couple of steps backward, distancing herself from the n who were trying to protect her.

It was as if she had nothing at all to do with the upcoming bloody battle.

’As long as they buy enough ti, I can escape from this forsaken town,’ she thought greedily.

Previously, she had not wanted to leave the town, but now she had completely changed her mind.

She realized she was no longer safe anywhere near the Grim Reaper.

Unknown to her dark thoughts and selfish plan, the three young n brimming with a sense of justice glared at the hooded figures approaching them.

The two undead servants closed the distance in a couple of seconds, arriving before the three young n without any warning.

Without any fanfare or hesitation, they raised their deadly weapons high. One of them wielded a massive Axe, and the other wielded a long, sharp spear.

"Bastards. Die," the first young man shouted and swung his katana with all his strength.

Clang!

The undead Axe descended heavily, twisting the air vehently as it slamd into the katana.

Bang!

The katana stood no chance against the brutal force. It shattered into dozens of pieces, and the young man stumbled backward from the powerful aftershock.

The young man with the heavy shield was sent skidding backward across the street, his hand trembling uncontrollably.

Fear gripped their faces as they realized their grave mistake.

The last young man managed to strike the undead servant with his longsword, only to hear a loud clanging sound of tal against tal.

Hmm?

He raised his head in confusion, and the only thing he saw was the incoming, terrifying Axe strike descending upon him.

Bang!

The Axe struck his chest with devastating force, shattering all his ribs and cleaving his chest apart in a spray of blood.

Thud!

He fell heavily to the ground, blood and innards gushing out onto the dusty street.

Huh!

Those who were watching the brutal battle could not help but gasp in disbelief and horror.

However, the undead servants did not stop in their deadly advance. Their hollow, burning gazes locked onto the two remaining intruders, and they swung their weapons without rcy.

"Nooooooo," one of them cried desperately, but his cries were useless against the inevitable.

His head was severed cleanly from his neck, and his headless body fell to the ground with a wet thud.

For the Tank, he managed to withstand another heavy strike before he was cut apart like his fellow ignorant runt.

Watching the bloody, horrific scene, many in the crowd could not help but shiver in terror. Now that the three idiots were dead, everyone shifted their attention to the woman who had caused everything.

But to their complete surprise, she had long since escaped. The crowd could only see her backside disappearing into the distance.

"Oh my..." A man among the crowd muttered, shaking his head.
