"I swear after this, I am never ssing with this bastard again," Cressida cursed, panting heavily as she pushed her speed to the absolute limit.

Yet, the heavy footsteps coming from behind told her that she was still far from being saved from this nightmare.

"Please. Please just leave alone," she begged desperately, her voice cracking with fear.

She wished she could turn back ti and stop her previous self from getting greedy and reporting the Grim Reaper to the Slave Trade Guild.

Just thinking about the Slave Trade Guild made her blood boil in hot anger. She had been chased like a rat for more than ten minutes, and they had not appeared to save her even once.

Were they waiting for the undead servants to kill her before they finally showed themselves?

Perhaps this was all part of their twisted ploy from the very beginning.

The more she thought about it, the more likely she found the terrible truth.

She did not believe for a mont that they would not have heard the news of her being chased around the town in broad daylight.

Just as she was ready to turn toward the north street, she heard the rapid footsteps coming from directly behind her.

They were faster than before, much faster.

’What is happening now?’ Her heart skipped a terrified beat, and she tried to look over her shoulder.

Hmm?

All the hair on her body stood on end, and without any hesitation, she jumped to the side as fast as she could.

Bang!

A powerful axe struck the ground exactly where she had been standing, creating a spider web of cracks in the muddy street.

Covered in a black robe, the undead servant turned its head slowly, its hollow socket staring intently at the fallen woman.

Feeling its cold, dead gaze, Cressida shuddered violently and rushed to her feet.

Through the corner of her left eye, she saw the second undead servant swinging its spear, going directly for a killing blow.

Danger!

The alarm rang loudly in her skull, and she hastily retreated while also summoning her staff from her inventory.

Quickly, she began to chant a defensive spell. However, how could the undead servant stand still and allow her to complete her magic?

They closed the short distance in an instant, and the axe wielding undead servant struck first.

’This is the end,’ she thought in despair.

Cressida’s muscles stiffened completely.

Her thoughts slowed down to a crawl.

Fear gripped her heart like a cold, unyielding vice.

’Is this truly my end?’ the strange, final thought popped into her panicked heart.

Just as the axe was going to connect with her chest, a figure appeared out of nowhere and pushed her roughly to the side.

Bang!

The axe strike missed once again, but the undead servant did not care about the miss. It turned its hollow eyes to the new intruder who had dared to interfere.

As for Cressida, she fell hard to the cold, muddy ground, and a sharp wince escaped from her lips.

But she did not care about the pain.

’I am alive,’ she exclaid in her heart with desperate relief.

She had thought her end had finally co, but she had been saved at the last second. Raising her head, she saw an unknown figure battling one of the undead servants with fierce determination.

However, she had no ti to watch the battle, as the second undead servant was already locked onto her again.

"Why can’t you just give a break?" she scread in frustration. Her rage was boiling over, but she had nowhere to vent her anger.

"Die!" a voice scread from her right.

Turning her head, she saw a group of ard n rushing toward her position.

Seeing the approaching group, Cressida could not help but breathe a deep sigh of relief.

With the arrival of the new group, they quickly surrounded the two undead servants and attacked them from all sides at once.

Clank! Clank!

To the people’s utter shock, when their weapons hit the undead bodies, the blades bounced off as if they had struck solid, unyielding steel.

’This is impossible,’ many thought.

Most of them were using High Iron Grade weapons, while so even had Peak Iron Grade weapons in their hands.

Yet against the undead armor, their weapons were completely useless.

Instantly, the atmosphere on the battlefield changed dramatically. Cressida took a couple of steps back, and her heart raced with growing fear.

’Do not tell he ard all his undead servants with Bronze Grade armor?’ she exclaid in her heart, unable to believe the thought.

How expensive were Bronze Grade items?

Even in the Jackal town, such items were rare and valuable. Only a few ever appeared on the market, and their prices were exorbitant, far beyond most awakeners’ reach.

And yet the undead servants before her seed to be fully covered in Bronze Grade gear from head to toe.

Ahhh!

One of the n cried in agony as he retreated hastily from the battle. He held his chest tightly as blood gushed out like a broken dam.

"Damn it," one of the n cursed loudly. "Be very careful. They are using Bronze Grade weapons as well."

When the other n heard this warning, their expressions turned ugly and grim. They now battled with extre caution, avoiding direct strikes.

With the first injury, the n slowly tried to take down the undead servants by attacking their joints and their weak spots instead.

With this new tactic, the undead servants’ attacking pattern beca more erratic and sluggish, their movents less fluid.

Seeing this positive change, the n’s confidence grew, and their strikes beca bolder and more aggressive.

"Try to target their heads," one of them shouted to his companions.

While the n thought the battle was already in the bag, Cressida could not help but feel an ominous, terrible feeling all over her body.

Her hair stood on end again.

Just as the n were about to end the battle, the sound of heavy, synchronized footsteps ca from both their front and their back.

Turning their heads in horror, they saw eight black robed figures approaching from both directions. Four figures on each side, surrounding them completely.

And behind the black robed figure on their right was a young man with shoulder length silver hair and deep, cold blue eyes.

"H-he is...he is..." Cressida stuttered, pointing her trembling finger.
