"Seal."
A giant runic circle with the character for seal etched into its Nexus appeared in the sky behind Cain.
An ability that caused the laws of magic to crumble. A skill that acted at the point of convergence between the spirit and physical planes.
It was a technique that made use of magic to destroy magic, much different from magic nullification abilities in terms of structure, but quite similar in application.
The mont he activated the {Interdiate Seal}, Cain noticed an imdiate change.
Reality around him trembled, and what he thought to be true was shattered to pieces.
The string attached to his chest trembled and almost snapped, but the power behind the {Interdiate Seal} was not enough to break apart magic of this caliber. Still, it weakened it.
Not just his, but that of the others as well.
Cain fought off the migraine caused by the information flooding his ears.
Instead, he turned to the {High Elves} who were now standing in plain sight, confusion written over their faces.
Eziel stared at Cain, a deep frown scrunching his brows.
The High Elf couldn't help but ask,
"How?"
Cain clenched his fist around the {Lonely Dragon} Warblade,
"An ability of mine."
Then he pointed it at the elves,
"Thanks to it, I have recalled a bit of the past."
The skies rumbled as the seal rune disappeared and the skill was deactivated.
However, sothing far more frightening now hung in the air above Cain.
His expression was dark like pitch,
"Now I can kill you with a clear conscience."
To say he was pissed would be the greatest understatent since the Thousand Millennium war.
With {Interdiate Seal}, he had broken off a layer of enchantnts that had been suppressing his mories.
And with peeling off that layer ca a flood of information.
Information of most that had happened since he had entered this trial.
'I get it now.'
Eziel exchange a glance with Vlad who still seed all to eager.
They dashed forward.
Elves usually relief on their high affinity with Mana. They were not a very physical race.
However, the ones that did fight on the frontlines were called Rangers by profession.
They were mostly assassin types that took advantage of illusions and their speed to ambush and disorientate their opponents in order to have the upper hand.
While fighters like that would not be very appreciated in large scale battles, in guerrilla warfare or duels, they were hard to beat.
In this case, the High Elves still held the advantage. Not only we're their numbers greater, they also were, to put it crudely, higher ranked.
The potential of a High Elf could not be compared to the potential of a regular human.
And yet...
For so reason...
An explosion of energy exploded out of Cain. Then a thick miasma seeped out of his body, enveloping his sword.
His demonic features were enhanced, and his dark eyes now seed like two bottomless abysses.
Eziel frowned. The dagger in his eyes briefly glinted with light.
In a split second, his body turned into a haze before producing two other exact look alikes.
The sa went for the other lee Rangers that had rushed forward.
Now, instead of just three opponents, Cain was forced to face nine.
His eyes narrowed. Then he closed his eyes. The sword in his hand was montarily enveloped by a white radiance before it disappeared.
'He put his weapon away?' Eziel has seen recklessness before. This wasn't it.
He frowned, 'Could he be looking down on us?'
His expression turned cruel and dangerous.
In seconds, they had him surrounded in all sides, their daggers stabbing at vital parts of his body.
Cain took in a deep breath.
Right now, he had to go for maximum endurance. There was no way he would be able to outmaneuver so many strong opponents, so the best bet he had was to try outlasting them.
Luckily, he had a wide variation of abilities, skills and spells in his arsenal that would allow him do just that.
He activated them all.
A sheen of golden flas that burned gently enveloped his body. Then a layer of azure flas burned at the soles of his feet.
And finally, a deep Crimson flas clad his fists like a glove.
One ability boosted his defenses at a cost of his movent speed, the other aid to alleviate so of the backlash from the first ability, and lastly, a skill that practically doubled his attack output.
The world seed to slow down for so reason.
He clearly saw the outlines the daggers traced in the air as they aid for his vital spots.
His hands moved.
His body moved.
The daggers pierced into his armor, but that was the most they could do.
anwhile, his fists went flying three tis in a split second.
The heads of three clones turned into bloody pulp before falling to the ground and dissipating into ashy motes.
Eziel grimaced. The attacking elves quickly picked up speed, attacking much faster and even more brutally.
At the sa ti,.the remaining two kept attacking Roselle, who was trying her best to guard both Susan and the unconscious Jenny.
Thanks to the ability Cain had used earlier, she had also awakened so mories as well.
She gritted her teeth, cutting arrows that ca flying.
She threw a concerned glance at Cain.
Slowly, he was leading them away, so as not to let the dangerous shockwaves from their class harm Jenny any further.
Although they were moving at high speeds, her eyes could trace their movents. Cain was not only able to keep up with all three elves and their clones, he was also able to retaliate every once in a while.
He was like an impregnable wall and a terrifying ballista at the sa ti.
Her eyes widened.
It was like witnessing a form of art.
Despite wearing heavy armor, his body was still nimble enough to dodge the sharp tip and edges of their daggers. For so reason, the elves seed slow. They were unable to thoroughly avoid his fists, and when they did, it was an imdiate death sentence.
And yetz the situation was still precarious.
For so reason, the more clones Cain sent to the afterlife, the more seed to appear.
Now, even more blades were aid at him, and he was having a hard ti moving around even with the help of {Azure Burst} and {Hell Step}.
He grabbed a hand wielding a dagger aid at his stomach and pulled, ripping it clean off.
Using the arm as a bat, he swung it, pulverizing the head of another clone behind him.
Then he winced as he felt two blade dig into his waist from behind.
'This is getting nowhere.' He thought to himself.
Golden light flashed in his palms, and two golden daggers appeared. They looked un impressive at first glance, but a second would prove their lethality.
The blade was broad, and their edges were sharp, allowing for more lethality upon penetration and ample surface area for slicing and hacking.
His hands twisted behind him as he stabbed the two daggers into the heads of the clones, ending their lives on the spot.
