"Divine Humans, Divine Elves, Divine Flugels, and now even the year is called ’Divine’. What the heck’s wrong with the people of this world and their obsession with Divinity?"
"This shows how great the influence of the gods on this world is."
"Is that what you really believe?"
"Nah, I think they’re all crazy bastards obsessed with so delusion of Divinity."
McEnda quickly changed his reply to Arthur’s initial question and spoke his true feelings, the sa ones he had when he first heard that the people of Aramis used ’Divine Years’ as opposed to the General Calendar System.
"Why is it just the ’530th’ so far? Has it only been 530 years since the gods dominated this world or sothing?"
"That’s sothing I actually don’t have the answer to.
But the gods have been here for more than 600 years so it’s not that."
The two were having this silly-sounding conversation atop the Bridge of the Airship that was carrying them to one of the Major Cities conquered by the Demons, and one under Alvey’s control: Militopolis.
It was originally a city ruled by Humans, but within one night, the city’s owners had changed hands to the demons.
How Alvey did it, how he was able to gain entry into this city without blowing up a single thing and defeat the five Transcendent Divine Humans who were here in just one night had beco a mystery on the level of the Wonders of Aramis.
All the scouts from nearby cities reported was that they saw bright lights shining from the city, and then all of a sudden a massive do of light (which they guessed was a Bounded Field) covered the city until dawn.
When it was released, what erged from the city were demon hordes who fought and defeated the armies of the humans who had gathered around.
The heads of the Five Divine Humans in charge of the city were all piked up on spears of demonic light, and it was a sight that sent fear into the hearts of all who saw it.
"That’s where Alvey’s ’Demon of Light’ title gained root."
"The more you tell about the guy, the more of a nonstandard he is..."
Arthur couldn’t help but also wonder exactly what it was that Alvey had done to take over the city and make all the human soldiers within it surrender, before going on to summon thousands of demons by morning.
"Did you ask him?"
"Of course, I did. But all he said was ’A few tricks, mimics, and replacents made entering the city and rounding up the soldiers easy.’
My guess is he probably took out the real commanders and used a mimic to round them up."
The young godslayer had question marks floating above his head as he did not know the whole story of this ’mimic’ business, and unfortunately, McEnda did not have the chance to explain as he quickly had to go and handle sothing important elsewhere, leaving Arthur to himself.
The Mid Rank Demons all gave the boy strange gazes as they moved past him, especially the ones who ca from Militopolis and had not seen Arthur in action during the Embermaw attack.
Most of the demons Alvey had summoned in Embermaw remained there, and the man was planning on sending a few Lieutenant Generals to handle the redevelopnt of the city since he had to focus on the Triton Ark plan and whatever his Superior had in store for him.
’Who’s his superior anyway? A High General demon? Or a Demon Lord?
I know they Have Demon Kings so they probably have the Demon Lord rank as well, right?’
Alvey, McEnda and two others he was unaware of made up the Four ’Four Star Generals’ on Aramis, so following the conventional ranking system, the ’Superior’ Alvey spoke of was probably a ’Five Star General’.
That person was the one who oversaw the entirety of the Demon’s Armies on Gozon and reported directly to the Demon Kings.
"I’d like to see if their Demon Kings are the sa as the ones from universes around Hell..."
He muttered that to himself as he felt the Airship beginning to descend, guessing that they had arrived at their destination.
The boy yawned lightly and moved towards one of the windows on the side, casting a glance outside the city and noting how developed it looked.
High-rise buildings, Neon Lights, engine-powered road vehicles and pretty much every other thing he expected from a world with average technological advancent.
’It’s a bit lacking for a pri world though.’
Arthur had seen more advanced Pri worlds, but he guessed that Aramis was a fairly young Pri World so this level of developnt was probably expected.
When the Airship finally docked, Arthur disembarked along with Alvey, leaving behind McEnda who was still busy answering a projection call with McEnda II.
"So, this is your domain, huh?"
"It’s the headquarters of my domain.
All the lands surrounding Militopolis; the country it is in, are all under my control. I’m the Premier of the South Eastern Gledea."
As things stood right now, Aramis was split in half between the Demons and its original inhabitants. The Southern Hemisphere of the planet had been taken over by the Demons, starting from the Rhigor continent where the Dinsional Rift was.
Rhigor, Guwos, Gledea, Plomux and Zefesh.
Those were the five Continents on Aramis, and only two; Plomux and Zefesh were still territories of the Aramisians.
Gledea was split between the two forces and was currently the main theatre of the war; a war where the demons were pressing the Aramisians greatly.
Arthur nodded as he slowly walked down the stairs while holding up a map of Aramis. As for the Demons receiving Alvey, they were wondering just who this boy beside their General was.
One of the gazes, in particular, was quite intense, causing Arthur to raise his eyes from the map and turn towards the source.
He locked eyes with a girl; or rather, a very young-looking woman. She had long blue hair tied up in a side ponytail, but even then, it still reached past her waist.
Like all the other demons present, she was dressed in her official uniform, and Arthur could see a single star above the crest on her chest pocket.
Height-wise, she was shorter than he was, around 5 feet 6 inches, though she seed a bit taller due to the heels of her shoes.
Her eyes, as dark as the colour of her uniform, narrowed lightly at Arthur as if she were trying to look through his very existence.
Suddenly, she let a wisp of her aura slip out of her body and when Arthur noticed it, along with three other things; two of which, left him surprised.
First, she was a Superior Stage Legendary.
Secondly, she possessed a Pseudo-Authority of an Elental Law, presumably Ice, given how the floor around her feet froze up when she released her aura.
But what took the cake, was her Race Breed.
’This woman...she’s an Elder Breed Demon!’
As a Progenitor, Arthur could tell apart the different breeds of Races, especially when it ca to Elder and Ancients.
It was how he could tell that the Drifter Larry was ’different’ from others before he even fully understood what the whole Elder and Ancient business really entailed.
His surprise at this fact showed on his face, and the woman saw it, confirming the suspicion she had.
She had purposely let her aura leak out to see if Arthur would detect her Pseudo-Authority, and as a Pseudo-Authority wielder himself, Arthur naturally noticed it. When he reacted with a surprised expression, she confird that he also held a Pseudo-Authority of his own.
The mont she confird this, her facial expression contorted into a frown, and she suddenly started glaring at Arthur.
’???’
Pretty much everyone looking at him could see the boy’s confusion at this whole situation, and this only increased when the woman suddenly spoke out.
"What are you looking at, brat?"
No matter how one looked at it, she was clearly looking for trouble now. And Arthur didn’t intend to let it slide.
"You’re calling a brat? Have you looked at yourself in the mirror, little girl?"
The other demons in the area all looked on at this sudden exchange of words, and when they heard Arthur call the blue-haired woman a ’little girl’ their eyes widened in shock as if he had just stepped on a landmine.
Arthur didn’t stop there, however, and took things further.
"Oh, you’re not a little girl? My apologies. It’s just that your maturity seems to be playing hide and seek, and unfortunately; it’s winning.
