Now reading: Chapter 13: Acceleration (Bonus - ) from Golden Eye Tycoon: Rise of the Billionaire Trader, a Fantasy novel by BaronIggy.

Friday morning carried a strange kind of energy.

Jake couldn’t explain it at first. Nothing unusual had happened overnight. There were no unexpected ssages waiting on his phone, no sudden ergencies, and no changes in his routine.

Yet as he stepped onto campus with his backpack slung over one shoulder, sothing beneath the surface of his calm felt... charged.

Maybe it was the numbers. Maybe it was montum.

Or maybe it was the realization that his life was shifting faster than he had ever imagined possible—and there was no realistic way to go back to the version of himself who had existed only weeks earlier.

While walking across the courtyard, Jake slipped his phone from his pocket and opened his trading app.

Balance: 421,260 VM

His thumb hovered over the screen for a mont. Half a million was starting to feel possible. He locked the phone and slid it back into his pocket.

’Focus first. Enjoy later.’

---

The study hall was quieter than usual.

Only a handful of students occupied scattered tables, most of them half-awake, staring blankly at their screens or hiding behind headphones while sipping coffee. The soft hum of laptops and the occasional rustle of notebooks filled the room.

Jake walked to his usual seat near the window and placed his bag carefully on the floor beside the chair.

Routine. Consistency. Control.

Those three things had started to define the rhythm of his mornings.

He opened his new laptop, and it powered on instantly. The smooth startup still gave him a small sense of satisfaction every ti he used it. There was no lag, no whining fan noise—just clean, efficient performance.

’Worth it,’ he thought. The trading platform loaded. Gold chart. The shift arrived almost imdiately.

Jake felt the familiar sensation as clarity settled over his mind, like a lens snapping perfectly into focus. The market that had once looked chaotic now revealed a deeper structure. Candles moved with intention instead of randomness, and subtle shifts in montum beca easy to read.

He leaned slightly forward and exhaled slowly. "One hour," he murmured under his breath. That was the window he had learned to trust.

He logged in.

421,260 VM

Today felt... different. Not reckless. Not greedy. Just ready.

---

The first setup appeared quickly.

Price pushed above a resistance level with aggressive montum. To most traders it would look like a breakout, but Jake imdiately recognized the signature of a liquidity grab

Too obvious. Too fast. Late buyers were flooding into the move while the underlying montum was already weakening.

Jake waited.

Patience had beco instinct now. Then the confirmation appeared—a sharp rejection wick that snapped back into the range. Jake entered short. Four positions opened within seconds.

Price reacted almost imdiately.

14 pips.

29.

45.

A quiet surge of adrenaline moved through his chest. Jake secured partial profit and adjusted his stops, letting the remaining positions run freely.

The downward montum accelerated.

68.

84.

He closed everything cleanly. Jake leaned back slightly in his chair, letting the internal rush settle before moving again. "Good," he murmured softly.

The second trade ford roughly ten minutes later.

This ti the setup was a reversal pattern forming after a false breakdown beneath support. The mont price snapped back above the level, Jake entered long with the sa disciplined control.

The move unfolded smoothly.

21.

38.

61.

Closed.

He didn’t rush into another trade imdiately. Instead, he watched. Observed.

Let the market reveal its intentions instead of forcing opportunity where none existed. Near the end of his clarity window, the final setup ford. The entry was precise and the exit was just as clean.

When the hour finally ended and the heightened clarity began fading from his mind, Jake sat still for a mont before opening the account panel.

Balance: 503,940 VM

He stared at the number. Half a million. A slow breath left his lungs.

For several seconds he didn’t move at all, allowing the reality of the figure to settle into his mind. Five hundred thousand. Not simulation. Real money, earned in a matter of weeks.

Excitent surged through his chest, stronger than anything he had felt before. A quiet laugh slipped out as he ran a hand through his hair.

"This is crazy," he whispered.

He leaned back and stared briefly at the ceiling above him. A month ago he had been calculating whether he could afford bus fare to campus. Now half a million sat quietly inside his trading account.

The hospital bill that had once felt overwhelming now seed small in comparison—almost irrelevant.

Jake closed the trading app and began packing his laptop slowly, deliberately forcing his thoughts back into discipline mode.

’Don’t get high on numbers.’ That was how people lost everything.

Still, as he stood and slung his backpack over one shoulder, the excitent lingered beneath his calm exterior like a steady pulse.

At this pace... One million wasn’t far away.

---

"Oi."

Jake turned as he stepped into the corridor outside the study hall. Alex jogged toward him, slightly out of breath and holding two energy drinks. "I’ve been looking for you."

Jake accepted one of the cans. "Why?"

Alex grinned. "Food first. Then talk. I’ve got news."

They walked together toward the outdoor seating area near the campus cafeteria. Students filled the space, laughter and conversations blending together while music drifted faintly from soone’s portable speaker.

Jake sat across from Alex at a small table beneath a shaded umbrella. Alex leaned forward slightly. "So... rember that basketball ga when you got hurt?"

Jake’s grip on the drink tightened almost imperceptibly. "Yeah," he said calmly.

Alex glanced around before lowering his voice. "Apparently it wasn’t an accident." Jake didn’t react outwardly. Inside, however, his attention sharpened. "What do you an?" he asked evenly.

Alex exhaled slowly. "One of the guys from Mason’s team talks too much when he drinks. I ran into him at a party last night."

Jake held his gaze steady.

"And?"

Alex hesitated for a mont. "Apparently Mason told them to play rough that day. Specifically on you." The words landed quietly between them.

Jake had suspected sothing before. The collision during the ga had felt unusually targeted. But hearing confirmation shifted sothing deeper.

He leaned back in his chair, his expression calm. "Why?" he asked.

Alex gave a humorless laugh. "You’re not gonna like this."

"Just say it."

Alex rubbed the back of his neck. "The rumor was... Catharine was considering going out with you. Soone told Mason. He didn’t like that."

Jake remained silent.

Alex continued carefully. "He’s been trying to date her since freshman year."

The space between them grew quiet.

Jake lowered his gaze to the table for a mont. He wasn’t shocked. He wasn’t explosive. He was simply... processing. ’So that was the reason.’ Not random. Not unlucky, but deliberate.

A slow breath left his chest. Inside, anger sparked—sharp but controlled. It wasn’t wild rage or emotional fury. It was colder than that.

The kind of anger that settled quietly and refused to disappear. Jake lifted his gaze again, his expression composed.

"I see," he said.

Alex studied him carefully. "You’re taking this very calmly." Jake took a sip of his drink before answering. "What would getting angry change?"

Alex frowned. "Still ssed up though."

"Yeah," Jake replied softly. Inside, however... He didn’t forget. Wouldn’t forget.

The mory settled into place like a file stored carefully for future reference. Not urgent. Not consuming. Just recorded.

Jake stood and slung his backpack over his shoulder. "Thanks for telling ."

Alex blinked. "That’s it?"

"For now." Jake gave a small nod and began walking away. As he crossed the courtyard, his eyes drifted across the crowd—and there, in the distance, he spotted Mason laughing with a group of friends. Relaxed. Confident. Completely unaware.

Jake’s expression didn’t change. But inside, sothing shifted. Calm and focused. ’Keep underestimating ,’ he thought quietly. Then he continued walking. Because revenge wasn’t urgent. Growth was.

And at the rate he was rising... The balance of power would shift on its own.

Soon.
