The Cetery Building incident did not affect the grand spectacle of the Yorknew Auction.
It wasn't because Yorknew City had a strong heart, but because the revenue and profits involved were terrifyingly large.
Therefore, even though nearly all the mafia mbers involved in the Cetery Building incident were dead, the Yorknew Auction could not possibly be cancelled.
Gon and Killua ca to Yorknew City for the Greed Island's ga qualification at the Southernpiece Auction.
On the night of September 1st, like many amateur bounty hunters, they had set their sights on the bounty on the Phantom Troupe.
However, the swarm of bounty hunters, including Gon and Killua, never even caught a glimpse of the Phantom Troupe's mbers before hearing about the incident at the Cetery Building.
By the morning of September 3rd, the latest news erged from the underground bounty black market.
The Phantom Troupe was annihilated, and the bounties for multiple mbers had been claid.
Upon learning this news, the bounty hunters who had flooded into Yorknew left one after another. They had no interest in becoming auction custors.
Gon and Killua felt they had missed a huge opportunity to make money quickly, until they suddenly received a call from Law at noon.
Thus, they ca to the Bejita Hotel, saw the feverish and unconscious Kurapika, and the Scarlet Eyes placed on the coffee table.
"What happened to Kurapika?" Gon asked, looking at Law who was sitting on the sofa.
"He got caught in the rain last night, but it's nothing serious," Law explained casually.
"Oh," Gon acknowledged.
"How much have you two earned so far?" Law suddenly asked.
Hearing this, Gon and Killua exchanged a glance.
"I've earned 160 million," Gon replied.
"Eight hundred thousand," Killua said, hands behind his head, his gaze drifting elsewhere.
Law expressed surprise. "The gap is that big?"
Gon explained, "Originally, Killua earned about the sa as , but he insisted on gambling on those..."
Halfway through Gon's sentence, Killua suddenly pounced, covering Gon's mouth with his hand, correcting, "It's playing, not gambling!"
Gon directly pried Killua's hand away, loudly saying, "It was gambling!"
"What do you know? That's called official prediction!" Killua's eyes turned cat-like as he said seriously, "If it wasn't to help you gather money faster, why would I have played that stuff!"
"I don't believe it!" Gon said.
"Alright, you two," Law shook his head slightly, interrupting their argunt.
He knew Gon and Killua wanted to buy the Greed Island's ga qualification, but with their funds and money-making ability, it was impossible for them to gather that much money within ten days.
Money-making ability is a reflection, in a way, of a Hunter's strength.
That might sound a bit vulgar, but it's quite straightforward.
The assets of every top-tier Hunter are unimaginable to ordinary people.
It must be known that among the world's top one hundred wealthiest individuals, quite a few are Pro Hunters.
Thus, money is one of the ways to gauge a Pro Hunter's strength.
Gon and Killua knew Law was incredibly strong and that he was very rich, but they did not ask Law for money.
Law also would not proactively help them purchase the Greed Island's ga qualification. However, he gave Gon and Killua a channel to make money.
That was, to go to the antique market in Yorknew City to acquire any objects carrying Nen, then co to him to exchange them for money, at a price five tis above market value.
Hearing Law's proposal, Gon and Killua left the Bejita Hotel without a second word, heading straight for the antique market.
They seed to see hope and threw themselves into it with all their might.
However, Law knew very well that even if Gon and Killua turned the antique market of Yorknew upside down, they could not possibly gather assets exceeding 10 billion in a short ti.
Law would not point this out to them. Instead, he gave them a direction to strive and struggle towards.
Evening, September 5th.
In a very short ti, Gon and Killua brought over thirty objects carrying Nen to Law, ultimately exchanging them for 1.6 billion in earnings. Law also gained a tiny increase in his attributes.
"It's no use, we can't possibly earn that much!" In the room, Killua lay flat on the carpet.
"Eight point nine billion minus 1.6 billion... how much is left?" Gon counted on his fingers.
8.9 billion was the minimum successful bid price for the Greed Island ga qualification. In other words, anything less than 8.9 billion ant no chance of winning the auction.
"Don't bother calculating, we're still way off anyway!" Killua glanced at Gon who was seriously calculating the difference and couldn't help but comnt.
Hearing this, Gon scratched his head, looking slightly troubled.
"Otherwise... we could ask Law for it?" Killua thought for a mont and suggested.
"No," Gon refused without hesitation.
Killua's eyelids drooped. He almost asked 'why' but swallowed it and changed his words: "We could consider it borrowing from Law. We'd pay him back later."
"That's still a no," Gon said seriously.
"Alright, alright, whatever you say."
Seeing Gon's serious expression, Killua spread his hands. Precisely because he understood Gon, he lacked even the desire to persuade.
The night passed, and ti moved to September 6th.
Ellie, Salin, and Stargie went to the Southernpiece Auction. They wanted Law to go with them but were refused.
Although Gon and Killua had only gathered 1.6 billion, they still went to the Southernpiece Auction. The two of them had found another thod to enter the Greed Island ga.
The Southernpiece Auction lasted five days in total. The auction catalog cost 12 million Jenny and included an admission ticket.
On the first day, one set of Greed Island was to be auctioned, starting at 1:30 p.m.
Gon and Killua did not travel with Ellie and the others. They entered the Southernpiece Auction separately at different tis.
At the entrance, Killua ran into an acquaintance: Milluki.
"Yo, Milluki."
Killua took the initiative to greet Milluki.
Milluki, hearing the voice, looked back and saw Killua. Imdiately, he acted as if he hadn't seen him, turned his head back very calmly, and walked directly into the venue.
"That guy!"
Seeing Milluki ignore him, a vein popped on Killua's forehead.
"What's wrong?" Gon asked, puzzled.
"Milluki is here too," Killua said.
"Huh? Which one is he?" Gon asked.
"He went inside. Let's go in too," Killua said.
Because of the Greed Island's mory card left by Ging, Killua had contacted Milluki and obtained quite a bit of information from him through a transaction, so Gon also knew about Milluki but had never seen his face.
The two followed the crowd into the venue.
Soon, they spotted Milluki in a seat.
So, they went over to him.
"You're here to buy Greed Island too?" Killua probed.
Milluki tilted his head, looking lazily at Killua, and said, "So what if I am?"
A gleam flashed deep in Killua's eyes. He grinned and said, "What a coincidence, too. How much money did you bring?"
Hearing this, Gon looked at Killua in confusion, but the latter stepped on his foot, signaling him not to speak carelessly.
"Give 100 million, and I'll tell you," Milluki rolled his eyes.
"..." Killua.
...
2:30 p.m. The Southernpiece Auction had been going on for over an hour.
Bejita Hotel. Kurapika opened his eyes.
Law was sitting on the sofa reading a forbidden book on biology. The biological information inside was all related to First-Class Forbidden Species, naturally including the Chira Ants.
Seeing Kurapika awake, Law put down the book and said, "Awake, huh? Are you hungry?"
Kurapika pressed a hand to his forehead. Before he could speak, his stomach let out a loud rumble.
"Wait here. I'll make you a bowl of noodles."
