After a long while, Seii opened his eyes again.
A spark of excitent flashed in his gaze.
Just as his wood clone had said, the news it delivered was indeed good.
According to the latest intel from the clone, the Three-Tails, which had died alongside Rin Nohara near the end of the Third Great Ninja War, was showing signs of revival.
There wasn't definitive confirmation yet, but all signs pointed to the Fourth Mizukage, Yagura Karatachi, already preparing for it.
As the host of the Three-Tails, the Mist Village knew more about it than anyone. If Yagura was convinced the Three-Tails was coming back, Seii had no reason to doubt it.
So, he needed to prepare early.
Did he really need to vie for the Three-Tails, given he wasn't exactly short on chakra anymore?
The answer was a resounding yes.
When it ca to chakra, more was always better.
Only with an abundance could he act freely without worrying about running dry.
Plus, Seii hadn't forgotten why he'd planted spies in the Mist Village in the first place—it was for the Three-Tails.
Now that it was about to revive, how could he just sit back and do nothing?
Especially since Uchiha Obito had his eyes on the Mist Village too. If Obito had caught wind of this and was also after the Three-Tails, Seii couldn't afford to let it slip away.
Most importantly, his strength gave him the confidence to get involved.
If he were weaker, diving into this would be suicidal. But with his current power, even if he didn't secure the Three-Tails, it wouldn't cost him much.

Looking at it, he said directly, "Keep a close eye on this situation. Report any updates to imdiately."
"Got it," the clone replied calmly.
Seii nodded, saying nothing more. He prepared to use the Flying Thunder God Technique to leave.
But just then, sothing occurred to him, and he paused.
Smacking his forehead, he added, "Oh, almost forgot. Keep tabs on Yagura's condition too. If you spot any signs of him being controlled, let know right away."
"OK!" The clone flashed an 'OK' hand sign.
With that, Seii didn't waste another second. He used the Flying Thunder God Technique and teleported to a spot just outside the Mist Village's walls.
Activating his Byakugan, he confird the positions of the nearby Mist patrol teams.
Then, bypassing them, he activated Ama no Miya and slipped out of the village without a sound.
Originally, he'd planned to head straight back to the Leaf Village.
But since he was already out here, he decided to swing by the Cloud and Stone Villages to check in with the wood clones he had stationed there and exchange intel.
By doing so, he gained a solid grasp of the current state of the major ninja villages.
As for the Sand Village? Well, sorry, but after the Third Great Ninja War, they were a shell of their forr selves.
The Sand was now the weakest of the five great villages.
Not only was the Wind Country's daimyo dragging them down with financial woes, but their talent pool was severely depleted. It wasn't worth Seii's ti or energy.
So, after leaving the Stone Village, he headed straight back to the Leaf.

Then, he returned to Moon Island to start a new round of training.
As he'd expected, thanks to the intel he provided, Minato Namikaze didn't bla the Cloud Village for the attack on the returning team.

This set a positive tone.
Over the next month, both sides followed the agreent, gradually pulling back their border forces, and the ninja world settled into a tentative peace.

For Seii, his planned ten-day training session on Moon Island was cut short after just three days, forcing him to tweak his plans.
The reason? Simple.
He was running out of space to store natural energy.
That night, in a primal forest in the northeastern Fire Country, Seii paused his Reflection of the Heart Technique. As usual, he dispelled his Multiple Shadow Clone Technique, ready to absorb the past hour's worth of training experience and mories from his clones.
But when the clones dissolved, he realized the natural energy they brought back had completely filled the alternate space in his abdon created by the Three Elents Sealing Technique.
Continuing to absorb natural energy would leave him with nowhere to store it.
Even if he burned through so tomorrow training Extre Body, sticking to his original plan would still leave him with excess energy.
And that excess had nowhere to go.
It seed like he'd have to cut back on absorbing natural energy.
But could he really do that?
Obviously not.
That would an wasting a chunk of his daily effort.
The bigger issue was that he relied on shadow clones to gather natural energy.
In other words, he couldn't redirect that effort to Extre Body or Reflection of the Heart Technique even if he wanted to.
Ti in a day was limited, after all.
What about using those clones to develop his Bloodline Net?
Also a no-go.
The number of clones he used for Bloodline Net developnt was carefully optimized through trial and error. Adding more would not only fail to boost efficiency but would waste even more chakra.
So, that wasn't an option either.
After mulling it over, Seii realized he had only one path forward.
He needed to start a new kind of training.
And what was it?
Simple: Sage Mode.
Truth be told, ever since Natural Energy Perception and Natural Energy Control hit Lv10 (0/0) and reached perfection, he'd been itching to start training Sage Mode.
