A month ago, Seii's chakra capacity was 4.19 million points. After a month of refining his potential, it had climbed to 4.4 million points.
Split evenly among himself and four shadow clones, that gave each of them 880,000 chakra points.
As everyone knows, mastering Sage Mode requires two key conditions: the ability to sense natural energy and a massive chakra reserve. The first is essential for absorbing natural energy, while the second ensures that energy doesn't spiral out of control once it's in your body.
Seii had both covered.
His "Natural Energy Perception" skill had long reached Level 10 (0/0), the absolute peak of what was possible at this stage. As for chakra, 880,000 points was hundreds of tis more than most jonin had—more than enough to be considered massive.
On top of that, for the past few months, he'd been consistently blending sage chakra to train "Extre Body." So, in theory, achieving Sage Mode shouldn't be too hard for him.
With that in mind, Seii decided to split himself into five—himself and four shadow clones—to experint simultaneously and see if he could get Sage Mode registered on his proficiency panel in the shortest ti possible.
No sooner thought than done. Seii stood up, approached his four shadow clones, and carefully injected 880,000 points of natural energy into each of them. Thanks to his Level 10 "Natural Energy Control," the clones stabilized the energy the mont it entered their bodies.
Seeing the first step go smoothly, Seii let out a small sigh of relief.
He pulled back his hands and said to the clones, "Alright, get to it!"
The four clones nodded, each finding an open spot to start blending the natural energy with their chakra.
This wasn't like his usual prep for "Extre Body," where he'd channel chakra into the interdinsional space in his abdon to mix with natural energy. In that case, natural energy was the dominant force, and he could adjust the chakra amount as needed. Plus, the seal kept everything contained, so it didn't affect his body. As long as he had enough control over both chakra and natural energy, a few tries would do the trick.
But now? He was trying to fuse a large amount of sage chakra directly inside their bodies. One slip-up could ss with their systems and cause mutations. The difficulty was on a whole other level.
As Seii watched, he could sense the clones' auras growing slightly unstable as they progressed with the fusion. Fortunately, whenever things started to get dicey, the clones paused, let the runaway natural energy settle, and then tried again.
After observing for a bit and confirming they wouldn't lose control anyti soon, Seii began his own attempt. Unlike the clones, he moved with extra care and caution.
He had to. If a shadow clone lost control, it'd just dissipate, wasting so chakra and natural energy. But if he lost control? That'd be a real problem. Sure, with his current physique, ntal strength, and mastery over natural energy, he wouldn't turn into a stone statue or so weird monster. But it'd still hurt like hell and could even disrupt his training going forward.
So, Seii played it safe.
…
Ti ticked by, second by second.
About half an hour later, Seii opened his eyes.
He paused his Sage Mode training and glanced at the four shadow clones. They'd been lucky—despite a few close calls, none had lost control.
That ant he could fully absorb their training experience.
Yep, Seii was ready to dispel the "Multiple Shadow Clone Technique."
Why not wait the full hour? Simple. For one, the clones were already pushing their limits. If they kept going, the risk of losing control would skyrocket, wasting a ton of chakra and natural energy. Better to cash in now.
Second, when practicing a new skill, the more frequent the iterations, the faster the progress. Half an hour was the sweet spot.
With that decided, Seii didn't waste ti. He had the clones stop, then dispelled the technique.
In an instant, the four clones vanished.
Their mories flooded into his mind, along with a surge of chakra and natural energy. Seii sorted and stored the chakra and energy, then closed his eyes to focus, carefully digesting the training experience contained in those mories.
A mont later, he opened his eyes again.
After a brief pause to reflect, Seii ford hand signs and cast the "Multiple Shadow Clone Technique" again. This ti, though, he doubled the number of clones from four to eight.
That ant each clone's chakra dropped from over 880,000 points to just under 500,000.
Why the change? After the last round, Seii was confident that 500,000 points were enough for the clones to last half an hour without collapsing. So, naturally, he wanted to summon more to gain even more experience.
With those thoughts settled, Seii focused and injected equal amounts of natural energy into each clone.
"Go for it," he said.
The eight clones didn't waste words. They scattered, each finding a spot to start blending sage chakra.
Seii watched them for a mont to ensure nothing was off, then began his own attempt.
Ti slipped by, and Seii went through round after round. With each batch of clones he dispelled, his understanding of Sage Mode deepened.
Still, even with his foundation, mastering it in just one night— a few hours—was impossible.
So, the next day, Seii dedicated ten shadow clones solely to practicing Sage Mode.
As for himself, he didn't join in. First, he had plenty of ti, so there was no need to rush. Second, ten clones were more than enough. One more or less wouldn't make a difference.
After so thought, he stuck to his usual routine, heading to the volcano to train "Extre Body." That way, he wouldn't fall behind on that front, and he'd also solve the issue of excess natural energy. Two birds, one stone!
