Xie Daiyu whipped his head and turned to look at the woman beside him in shock. He pursed his lips in silence and tried to calm himself down. He told himself again and again that there was no point in getting angry with Ruan Chanchan; his destined one was too kind and couldn’t understand that she was being played by Shao Xia like a fool. If she did understand such a simple thing, then she would certainly have never called Shao Xia the benefactor of their tribe.
How could this woman be the benefactor of their tribe? She was nothing but a scrooge!
If she were a benefactor, then he was the disciple of the beast goddess.
"Chanchan, you do not understand," began Xie Daiyu as calmly as possible. "Shao Xia called these people because she wants them to learn our secrets and possibly trade a place in their tribe for the secrets of our tribe."
Ruan Chanchan curled her lips. Ruan Chanchan was not worried, unlike the chief. Just now, when she cooped herself up in the cave with Xiao Xi, she went through the laws of the beast world. Many of the beast warriors thought that these laws were useless and there was no point in learning them, as ultimately, strength was what worked best. But Ruan Chanchan didn’t think so. She believed that even though the council of the beasts seed like a corrupted bunch, there had to be sothing that could protect the weak tribes.
After all, the council couldn’t be too blatant in favouring the strong tribes, and she finally found sothing!
Ruan Chanchan snickered when she thought about how she was going to deal with this bunch of cronies very soon. Did Shao Xia think that she could just take advantage of her, pat her butt and then leave? There was no way! Nuh uh!

Ruan Chanchan’s face twisted into that of a malevolent one as she laughed under her breath.
Shao Xia sensed a malicious intent being pointed at her. She turned her head and looked in the direction from which the intent was coming, and was stunned when she saw the expression on Ruan Chanchan’s face.
This woman...why was she looking at her like that?
Shao Xia was startled awake by Ruan Chanchan. Was she hiding sothing? Shao Xia, however, shook her head. In her mind, she didn’t take Ruan Chanchan seriously. After all, accepting that Ruan Chanchan was witty enough to cross her would only prove that the woman was sharper and much smarter than her. How could she be willing to accept such a thing? She would rather accept that this woman had gone mad with anger!
Yeah, that must be the case. Ruan Chanchan had been working so hard these days to make sure that the tribe would live a good life, and she took advantage of her hard work; Ruan Chanchan must be driven mad by her.
That must be it.
If Ruan Chanchan knew what the woman was thinking, she would have rolled her eyes to the high heavens.
There was no way soone like Shao Xia could make her mad, nor did she have the energy to get mad at soone like her.
After living so many lives, she had long learnt how to control herself in such situations; it would be surprising if she lost her temper with soone as childish as Shao Xia.
"Of course," said Chief Xie through gritted teeth. Even though she had already expected this, she still had so hope for Shao Xia, who would have thought that the woman would let her down again and again?
She turned to look at the cooking team, who started to cook at once. But they deliberately brought bones and the internal organs of the beasts, sothing that was unwanted and not eaten by the people of tribes as big as the mighty eagle tribe. When Li Nuanzi and the rest saw that Chief Xie had removed the feast and brought bones and innards, her expression turned a bit sullen. She thought that the woman was deliberately looking down at her and her tribe.
Li Rong also thought the sa, and unlike his cousin, he couldn’t control his temper. He said angrily, "Chief Xie, why are you giving us animal bones and these rotten innards? Didn’t you catch prey? Why not cook it for us?" They clearly hunted fresh ga in the morning, and yet she was bringing these things to serve them. Who was she looking down at? Chief Xie turned to look at Shao Xia with a smile on her lips. She was waiting for the woman to contradict her, but how could Shao Xia do that? She had never seen anyone cook and had never paid attention to the cooking process, even if she had been keeping an eye on the things for a couple of days. She had no idea how the cooking team did their work. So how could she say that they cook with fresh at, what if the dishes were unpalatable? Then she would be the one taking responsibility for it!
