"Easy for you to say." Her old voice let out a defeated sigh as she continued speaking.
"Yes. Although only a Heaven Step cultivator can kill another Heaven Step powerhouse, the process is not as simple as chopping off the head or destroying the body."
"The very term ’HEAVEN’ ans that the cultivators are equal if not above the heaven of this world. And killing them ans killing a part of heaven."
"How could it be an easy process?"
The white masked woman’s eyes flashed with an inexplicable emotion, but she didn’t show it. Instead, she sat quietly and listened to whatever Jian Yu had to say.
"If there were no Yun Ning, then ten years from now on, I would have died, and you would have taken over my position as the next leader of the Sword sect and the one in charge of taking care of the ruins."
"But now..." Jian Yu’s lips curled up in a smile.
"Now, we just need for Cang Yue to enter that place and activate the array and use her as a catalyst to wipe out that damned thing inside."
"..."
"..."
Jian Yu’s proposal was t with a deafening silence as the white masked woman gently nodded in response.
"But do we really need to?" She asked again, clearly not willing to give up the topic of Cang Yue’s sacrifice.
"How about we wait for Yun Ning to console her cultivation base and even progress further?"
"If we do that, chances are that she will be able to deal with the thing inside all by herself, and we wouldn’t have to sacrifice Cang Yue."
"....." Jian Yu’s smile disappeared as soon as she heard this. She then looked at the white masked woman once again, but it was clear from her expression that she was getting annoyed by the constant ntion of Cang Yue.
"Where is this coming from?" She finally couldnt hold it any longer. "Out of all the people, you should be the last one having sympathy for that crazed bitch."
Jian Yu no longer sugarcoated her words. Instead, she chose to speak in the most blunt and direct way possible.
"Did you forget how she skinned, tortured and killed all those mbers of the Sword sect?"
"Did you forget just how many people she had flayed alive over the course of these thirty years?"
"And you..." She pointed towards the white masked woman. "You are having sympathy for such a wretched person?"
"Have you lost your mind?"
The white masked woman stayed silent for a long ti. Her head hung low as if she were afraid of eting Jian Yu’s gaze.
In the end, she couldnt help but mutter under her breath.
"Then how are we different from the Deominc Sects who sacrifice others?"
"BECAUSE WE ARE DOING IT FOR THE GREATER GOOD." Jian Yu almost scread out loud.
"Because we are doing it to save the world."
This ti, the white masked woman simply raised her head and t Jian Yu’s gaze, causing Jian Yu’s heart to flutter inexplicably.
"Are you sure we are not doing it because you just want to destroy her and step into the Heaven Step?"
"WHAT RUBBISH." The white masked woman’s words seed to have hit Jian Yu’s soft spot as she almost flew in rage. "Have you lost your mind. Do you even realise what you are even talking about?"
The white masked woman simply averted her gaze and looked in another direction. Clearly not wanting to engage in this conversation.
Jian Yu, on the other hand, waved her hand in annoyance.
"Get out."
The white masked woman simply let out a soft ’hmm’ before her figure disappeared from that place, leaving behind Jian Yu, whose previously sunny face had turned dark.
"Just a few more weeks... just a few more weeks..." She kept on muttering to herself.
------------------------
On the other side of the Sword Sect, Cang Yue’s figure kept disappearing and reappearing as she made her way towards a rather obscure house in one of the sword peaks that was located far away from the core region.
Without making a sound, her figure directly appeared inside the house as she took a look around. After seeing Yang Ze’s door closed, Cang Yue’s figure blurred before an entirely new figure appeared in its place...
"Now then..." Xiao Ruolan took a look around as she played with a small bag in her hand. These were just so of the resources that Cang Yue was entitled to as the Grand Elder of the Sword Sect.
Even though these resources were completely worthless to her because of her strength, it didn’t change the fact that she still got them because of not want to cause any distraction for the ’Cang Yue’s Breakthrough’.
"Should I hand these to him?" Muttering to herself, Xiao Ruolan glanced in the direction of Yang Ze’s room but then soon shook her head before entering her room.
The mont she entered her room, the first thing that greeted her sight was the figures of Cang Yue and Lin Yue entwined with each other on the bed. Both of them seed to be sleeping with their bodies wrapped around each other.
Cang Yue’s naked body was tightly hugged by Lin Yue, whose eyes would keep on trembling as if she was going through so kind of nightmare.
Xiao Ruolan looked at the two of them for a mont before clicking her tongue in pity.
"What a cruel fate...."
"Two sisters who never got to know each other and would be separated soon." Speaking till here, she let out a heavy breath before walking to the corner of the room from where she picked up a thin quilt and covered both Lin Yue’s and Cang Yue’s bodies with it.
"Rest..." She spoke softly in an incomparable gentle tone.
"This is the last ti you both are going to have a peaceful sleep."
Thinking about their future, she rely let out a forced chuckle before walking to the corner of the room, pulling out a bamboo chair and sitting on it quietly while gazing at the starry sky outside in silence.
-------------
On the other hand, Yang Ze, who was constantly entering and exiting his enlightennt state, couldn’t help but rub the centre of his eyebrows.
"Damn it. It’s exhausting." Even though he could use the Enlightennt now without any restriction or any ti limit, he still needed to use his ntal energy.
Even with the current number of mortal objects that he had visualized that had increased his ntal energy, it was still a difficult and exhausting task to enter Enlightennt.
The feeling of having one’s ntal energy exhausted was sothing that he didn’t like in the slightest.
Every ti he ran out of ntal energy, it felt like he hadn’t slept in days, and then there was the process of recovering his ntal energy... It took all his effort and will to not just close his eyes and sleep.
"Just a few more days..." Exhaling a mouthful of air, Yang Ze muttered to himself.
"Shall I take a look around?" The mont this thought ca to his mind, he imdiately walked out of the room. The first ti he created sothing with his skill, it gave him a Clock of Ti.
He could only imagine what the next thing would be.
Now that the cooldown of one week was over, it was ti for him to create sothing new.
With this in mind, he hurriedly walked out of his room and, after taking a look at both Lin Yue and Xiao Ruolan’s closed doors, headed out by himself.
Walking slowly towards the market, he kept on admiring the serene scene around him.
Often, he would pause, use his all-seeing eyes to take a look at the random herbs and grass around him to make sure there wasn’t anything precious lying around.
Unfortunately for him, the most precious thing he was able to find was a stalk of blood-cogaluting grass which was still immature.
"Tsk..." Clicking his tongue in annoyance, he finally hastened his pace before arriving in the market.
"Now then..." Yang Ze didn’t go to the previous place where he bought the spiritwing and the map from. Instead, he chose to explore around by himself.
The scene in the Sword Sect’s market was much different from that of the Tianxu trading zone.
There wasn’t anyone shouting or explaining about the things. Instead, won who were sitting there with their stalls in front of them kept their eyes closed in ditation. Even when Yang Ze stood in front of them or sat down to pick up the items to check them, they didn’t open their eyes.
Yang Ze could only sigh in response to such professionalism. Not only were they not bothering him, but the items in front of them were also genuine, unlike those bastards at the Tianxy Trading Zone whose sole purpose seed to be to extort as much money as possible from the unsuspecting victims.
Yang Ze just kept on wandering around.
Most of the things he saw were so precious herbs that were grown by the won themselves. There were also a few bottles of anti-venom as well as so cultivation assistance powder, which was useful for those below the pulse opening realm.
There were also a few bottles of pills for the Foundation forging experts, but the price was so ludicrous that even Yang Ze had to rub his eyes, wondering if he was rely seeing things.
Other than these herbs and dicines, there were also various kinds of poisons, which broadened Yang Ze’s horizon. So of the poisons that he saw looked like they were created specially to target n... making them just mindless animals.
The re sight of those poisons sent a shiver down Yang Ze’s spine as he hurriedly shook his head before walking around.
Ignoring the pills and herbs, Yang Ze finally focused on the next major thing that almost everyone was selling.
A sword.
For the Heavenly Sword Sect, whose very core cultivation was about using swords, there were all kinds of swords in the market.
So were large, so were thin, so were pointy... There were even a few short swords that looked more like knives.
But Yang Ze only cast a cursory glance at them before shaking his head.
In the end, unable to find anything of value, he directly made his way towards the only place he had bought anything from.
"Young master. You are here again?" The mont Yang Ze entered the shop, the shopkeeper walked towards him with a smile.
"How can I help you this ti?" Just by looking at Yang Ze, her eyes were gleaming with the shine of money.
"...." Looking at her expression that looked like she wanted to eat him alive, Yang Ze reached inside his robe before taking out a cloth pouch and after fiddling inside, took out a handful of coins before handing them to her.
"I would like to have my necklace back, please." Last ti, he pawned his Amulet of Life for the detailed map to the Tianxu Trading Zone.
To the current him, the use of that amulet was almost negligible. But with the ability to combine two or more things into a new one, he could perhaps use it to gain sothing extraordinary.
"Eh!" The mont Yang Ze asked about his amulet, the smile on the shopkeeper’s face stiffened as the corner of her lips twitched for a mont before she shook her head with a forceful smile.
"Apologies Young master... The ti limit for getting your pawned item back is five days."
"Any longer and we sell the item."
The shopkeeper’s words caught Yang Ze by surprise, who couldn’t help but narrow his eyes in displeasure.
"So, did you sell it?"
The shopkeeper simply nodded in response.
"Can I know the na of the person?" If possible, Yang Ze didn’t want to give up.
"Sorry, but I can’t tell you that." The shopkeeper bowed to him in apology.
"...."
"...."
"Forget it." Yang Ze looked at her for a mont before shaking his head. Since the amulet was gone, it was gone... There was no use thinking about it.
After taking a look around the shop, he simply shook his head and walked out of the shop.
He was finding it incredibly difficult to co up with satisfactory items to rge.
In the end, he just kept on roaming aimlessly.
It wasn’t until almost an hour passed, and he was standing at a rather remote location, that he suddenly clapped.
"Wait... if I can rge anything, can I rge the talents as well?"
Yang Ze was sure that he didn’t see any limitations. The description was simple... he could rge anything.
And since he could rge anything, was it possible for him to rge the talents as well?
By now, he had a variety of talents that were only going to increase in the future. He could’t just walk around with tens of thousands of talents, which would provide little to no help to him, right?
In that case, it was much better to rge them and hopefully get a talent that was actually useful to him.
The mont this thought ca to his mind, it was hard for him to suppress it.
Taking a deep breath, Yang Ze imdiately focused on the personal panel in front of him. Narrowing his eyes, he thought about rging them, and sure enough, the next mont, a speck of light seed to flow out of his body before hovering in front of him.
"Success." Clenching his fists, Yang Ze almost jumped up in excitent.
Without any hesitation, he took back the speck of light that had flown out of his body and gazed at the nurous talents in front of him.
After thinking for a mont, he chose the talents that he wanted to rge.
[Mighty Vigour(Blue), Affinity For Water(Blue), Escape Master(Blue), Ethereal Shadow Step(Blue)]
He chose all the Blue talents except the Sky Cleave one.
[Confirm to rge the talents?]
Looking at the prompt in front of him, along with the blue specks of lights floating silently in the air, Yang Ze simply took a deep breath and then, without any hesitation, chose ’Yes’.
In the next mont, the blue specks of light suddenly began to rotate at a rapid pace before gathering in a single spot.
Yang Ze’s breathing almost stopped as he looked at the scene, and in the next mont, a dazzling golden light almost blinded him.
"HOLY SHIT. A GOLD." Yang Ze almost jumped in excitent as he tried to control himself.
Without any hesitation, he looked at the new prompt that appeared in front of him, completely hiding the golden speck of light behind him.
[Mission: Have sex with Jian Yu in the next three days.]
[Failure to do so will result in rging failure.]
