Chapter 95 – I’m Not Your Toy

Lux studied her.

Beautiful. Dangerous. Familiar.

Flirtatious, spoiled, clever.

Maybe she did have feelings for him. Maybe she was just bored and lonely and using him to distract herself from whatever Pride politics she was dodging.

Either way?

He had to tread carefully.

Because when Sira played...

No one ca out untouched.

Lux knew that. Knew it in the marrow of his bones. Pride demons didn’t flirt for free—and Sira, daughter of the Pride Lord himself, never played unless she was trying to win sothing. Information. Leverage. Power. Affection. Sotis just control for the sake of it.

And that smile of hers?

That wasn’t a casual smile. That was a move on a chessboard.

"No," Lux said flatly.

It was quiet. Final. The kind of no that stopped lesser demons cold.

But not her.

Sira tilted her head. The light shifted just enough for the shadows in her hair to ripple like ink in water. Her lips parted, slightly pouting—pretty and sharp. "Why?" she asked, her voice dropping into a low, velvety drawl. "Are you afraid?"

Lux exhaled through his nose. "No. Like I said. I’m on vacation. Off duty, Sira."

He held her gaze as he took another sip of coffee.

"We’ll play again after I co back."

-Snap!

The infernal dice vanished instantly. Just like that. No sparks. No flas. One second they hovered with sizzling promise. The next, gone. That alone told him how irritated she was. Sira never dismissed her toys early.

She leaned in. Graceful. Predatory. Her fingers slid across the table as she drew herself closer, eyes never leaving his.

"So..." she said slowly, voice a soft whisper layered with razorwire. "You just think of as your business partner, huh?"

He didn’t flinch. "I can’t assu more."

The silence thickened.

"You and I," he continued, calmly, "are the children of Sin Lords. Everything between us? It’s watched. It’s weighed. They’ll always consider it political. Or worse—strategic." His jaw flexed. "You know that."

Sira’s lips twitched. Not into a smirk. Not quite a frown either. It was the kind of expression that said she was recalculating.

"...It’s true," she admitted after a pause.

Then, without warning—she vanished.

No ti surge. No flashy spell.

Just bam—she was suddenly on his lap.

Lux didn’t move. Didn’t blink. But internally?

[Warning: Sin Resonance Detected – Source: Pride Affinity Surge]

Yeah. He figured that much.

Her presence pressed into him like heat. Her perfu curled in the air—sothing smoky and expensive, tinged with a faint floral sweetness that never showed up twice the sa way.

She straddled him, face inches from his, her long hair sliding forward like a curtain between them and the frozen world. Ti was still paused outside their little bubble. Good. If anyone mortal saw this, there’d be lawsuits. Or riots.

Her eyes locked onto his. "Still..." she said, a low purr curling around the word. "I want to play..."

She moved her hand—slowly, deliberately—fingertips brushing along his jaw, then down his collarbone like she was painting him with intention. Every movent was a flirt and a threat and a promise wrapped into one.

Her other hand ca up, a single finger tracing his lower lip. Her voice dropped. "You know what I an... Lux Vaelthorn..."

He caught the way she said his full na.

As if tasting it.

As if owning it.

And then she made her mistake.

She assud.

Lux’s mouth opened.

He leaned forward.

And—

Licked her finger. A slow, deliberate stroke of his tongue against her skin.

The Pride Demoness stilled.

Their eyes locked.

Her pupils dilated slightly. The look on her face scread smug satisfaction, like she’d just won a round.

Except—

Lux’s expression didn’t change.

Cold. Calm.

Not his charming smirk. Not the polite mask of diplomacy.

Not the seductive grin of a half-incubus playing a ga.

This?

This was Greed in its purest, oldest form.

He kissed her fingertip lightly. Then pulled back just enough to et her gaze.

"No."

Just that.

No smile.

No warmth.

"No?" she echoed, caught between offense and arousal.

"I’m not your toy," Lux said, tone low but firm. "And you know . There’s no such thing as a fling in my dictionary."

His voice held that quiet, brutal truth that demons didn’t like hearing.

"I’m Greed. Once mine—will stay mine. Always."

He let it hang in the air for a beat. Then added, "And I don’t think a proud person like you would ever accept my terms for sothing personal like this."

The heat between them didn’t break.

But it shifted.

From seductive to volatile.

From teasing to dangerous.

"This isn’t business," Lux said, eyes narrowed. "And it isn’t politics."

Silence.

Sira didn’t move.

Then she smirked.

Displeased.

But intrigued.

"Trying to assert your dominance, huh?" she asked softly.

"Yes," he replied, casually. "Like you usually do."

That got a laugh.

A sharp, delighted chuckle that echoed like a cracked bell. "This..." she breathed, grinning, "I love this side of you. Hard to get. All fire and spine. Most incubi only think with their d*cks."

Lux raised his brows. "Thank you for the complints."

She giggled again—but it was sharper now. Her eyes glittered with that unstable edge that ca right before a Pride demon stopped playing nice.

Lux didn’t move.

He could feel it now.

The shift.

Her aura thickened.

Her nails shimred.

Shifted.

Turned to claws.

Not cute little costic claws either.

Actual weapons. Elegant and deadly. Painted in shimring infernal lacquer, but tipped with enough soulcutting edge to slice through lesser demons like fondant.

Sira’s smile didn’t fade.

She moved her hand again—toward his throat this ti.

’Teleport.’

Lux vanished.

Just blink—gone.

He reappeared three ters away, still inside the frozen ti-bubble. Coffee in one hand.

Sipping.

Calm.

Unbothered.

Sira’s hand was still outstretched in mid-swipe, now empty.

Lux took another sip. "You know, that’s a waste of perfectly good flirting."
