While the Dais Family was savoring a delicious al, Jiang Qiuqiu’s house was also brightly lit.

This was the first ti Mo Chengyu and the others had all co over. She had placed a huge table in the living room. The skewers, already sorted by type, were arranged on plates on a warming tray.

The sauces on the table were self-serve. The only dishes that needed to be cooked on the spot were set on a conspicuous sky-blue plate, with a small pot simring in the middle of the table.

Hearing from Mo Chengyu that she could handle spicy food, Jiang Qiuqiu had also specially prepared a spicy dipping sauce.

Skewers and crispy fried pork were ready. With the full spread of dishes for the night, Jiang Qiuqiu also brought out a few bottles of homade wine.

The four of them gathered.

It was the first ti Zuo Kai and the Right Protector had seen such a "magnificent" scene, and they couldn’t help but drool.

It was a gathering of old friends, so there weren’t many rules or formalities. They turned on the projector, casually put on so kind of cha docuntary, and everyone dug in.

The skewers were small; if you really went for it, you could finish one in a single bite.

They were all Spiritual Power Users who trained frequently, so naturally, they had large appetites.

Zuo Kai and the Right Protector, in particular, were practically two skewer-destroying machines.

They weren’t picky, grabbing whatever was at hand and downing it in a single bite. Between mouthfuls, they earnestly praised Jiang Qiuqiu, declaring that everything she made was delicious.

"Try the dipping sauce! It gives it a completely different flavor."

The oil and vinegar sauce was fine, but the spicy one had them hissing and gasping for air. That’s when the ice-cold wine ca in handy.

Rembering what happened last ti, Jiang Qiuqiu had checked in advance, making sure to grab the batch with the lowest alcohol content.

They ate and drank heartily, raising their glasses in toasts. The courtyard filled with the sound of cheerful laughter.

「The night grew deeper.」

Mo Chengyu, Zuo Kai, and the others helped Jiang Qiuqiu clean up the ss, sweeping the house until it was spotless.

Too full to go straight to bed and still feeling energetic, Zuo Kai and the Right Protector sensed that Jiang Qiuqiu and Mo Chengyu had sothing to discuss, so they discreetly withdrew into the shadows.

The two of them sat close together on the swing, swaying gently.

The endless stars seed to be winking in the deep blue sky. Below, under the dim yellow lights, a slight chill crept into the air as the wind picked up. Jiang Qiuqiu draped a small blanket over both of them.

She asked, "So, Sister Chengyu, when do you think you’ll be heading back to work?"

"In the next day or two," Mo Chengyu sighed. "Work needs ." ’The project’s been green-lit, and Director Zhang is already starting to rush .’

"Oh..."

"So does that an you’ll be moving out of Starry Sky Wander?"

"Yeah, I have to live at my workplace." Sensing the dejection in her voice, Mo Chengyu maintained her cool, big-sisterly deanor and patted Jiang Qiuqiu’s head.

"If you’re leaving, is Black Hole going back to work too?" Jiang Qiuqiu lowered her voice, her expression hidden by the dim light.

Her voice and her feelings were lost in the sound of the wind.

When Mo Chengyu heard her question, she assud Qiuqiu was simply afraid of being lonely and bored. "It’ll be a while for him," she said. "His work won’t get busy for at least a few more months."

"He’ll co back when this phase of work is over."

"Is he living in your house?"

"Yes, because he..." Mo Chengyu cleared her throat. "He’s my little brother, you could say. So it’s perfectly normal for him to live here."

"Younger brother?"

"Yeah. Don’t we look alike?"

"...You do." ’Their auras were completely different, but their facial features were indeed a little similar.’

’Parting with Sister Chengyu was an inevitable step on her journey forward.’

’That was the bad news. But amidst the bad news, there was a silver lining.’
