Xu Wuyi stared intently to the northeast.
In his perception, six auras belonging to Human Race Martial Artists were zipping through the mountain forest. Their Qi and Blood were surging, a clear sign they had pushed their speed to the absolute limit.
They were all carefully selected elites. Not only were they powerful, but each was also a master of Qinggong, making them incredibly fast.
The goal was to ensure that among their pursuers, only Milo could keep up, leaving the other Wolfman War Generals behind.
And less than a kiloter behind them, a dark-gold aura, like a burning torch, was in hot pursuit.
The aura was violent and savage, carrying a condescending majesty.
Milo.
But just as Xu Wuyi detected Milo, the dark-gold aura abruptly paused.
Imdiately after, a cold, sharp Spiritual Power swept back toward him like a needle prick!
Xu Wuyi’s pupils contracted sharply.
Milo had detected him too!
Separated by several kiloters, the two had engaged in a brief but intense clash on the spiritual plane.
Xu Wuyi could clearly feel the other’s montary shock and doubt, followed by rage, and finally... wariness.
"He’s noticed!" Xu Wuyi hissed. "Move now! Don’t give him a chance to retreat!"
Almost as the words left his mouth, the distant dark-gold aura abruptly changed direction. It stopped pursuing the decoy team and instead darted into the forest to the side!
Milo was trying to escape!
"Zhou Ming!" Liu Yue snapped.
"Copy."
Zhou Ming squeezed the trigger.
The muzzle of the sniper rifle spat a pale blue fla, and a special armor-piercing round tore through the air at three tis the speed of sound.
It crossed a distance of nearly five kiloters, aid precisely at the path the dark-gold figure was bound to take!
Milo’s reaction was astonishingly fast.
An instant before the bullet hit, he forcibly twisted his massive body in mid-air, swiping at the projectile with a dark-gold claw.
"CLANG—!"
The piercing sound of tal striking tal was faintly audible even from several kiloters away.
The bullet was swatted away, but Milo’s montum was broken.
The purpose of the shot was achieved—not to kill, but to delay.
"Go!"
Shi Gang roared and charged out of the cave like a heavy chariot, hurtling down the rock face.
With every step he took, the rock wall fractured in a spiderweb of cracks, yet his downward speed was astonishing.
Liu Yue followed close behind. Her figure pushed off the rock face a few tis, swift as a nimble martin, her speed hardly any slower than Shi Gang’s.
Lin Zhaowen put away his datapad, pulled two fist-sized tal spheres from his backpack, and threw them to either side of the canyon.
The spheres unfolded in mid-air, transforming into two massive energy nets that sealed both ends of the canyon.
At that mont, the six mbers of the decoy team also arrived at the canyon.
They were covered in blood, having clearly endured a bitter fight, but their movents were still swift.
Seeing Shi Gang and Liu Yue charge out, the six didn’t hesitate for a second. They imdiately turned, joined up with the pair, and moved to surround Milo.
Eight against one, with others providing support from the outside.
In terms of numbers, at least, they had the absolute advantage.
Xu Wuyi did not join the fight imdiately.
He stood at the mouth of the cave, his gaze locked on the dark-gold figure.
After being halted by Zhou Ming’s shot, Milo was imdiately surrounded.
Shi Gang launched a frontal assault, his shield smashing down with a whistling sound. Liu Yue cut in from the flank, her dual blades aid at vital joints. The six mbers of the decoy team spread out, sealing off every possible escape route.
The battle instantly beca white-hot.
Milo truly lived up to his title as the Divine Son of the Werewolf Race. Even while besieged by eight people, he was not at a disadvantage.
Every one of his claw strikes ca with a shriek that tore through the air. Under the pale light of day, his dark-gold fur glinted with a tallic sheen.
A Martial Artist from the decoy team tried to launch a sneak attack from behind but was t with a backhanded swipe to the chest from Milo.
His alloy armor tore like paper. The Martial Artist was sent flying, spitting blood, and slamd into the rock wall, his condition unknown.
"Be careful! His strength is far beyond that of a normal War General!" the decoy team’s captain, a middle-aged, sword-wielding Martial Artist, shouted as a warning.
Shi Gang roared, and an earthen-yellow light flared on his shield as he forcibly blocked a heavy blow from Milo’s claw.
Five deep scratches appeared on the shield’s surface. Shi Gang himself slid back more than ten ters, his feet carving two deep furrows in the ground.
But he had successfully created an opening for the others.
Liu Yue’s dual blades took the opportunity to slash in, leaving two bloody gashes on Milo’s left side.
They weren’t deep, but it was the first ti Milo had been truly wounded since the battle began.
A trace of fury flashed through Milo’s crimson pupils.
He took a sudden, deep breath, his chest swelling dramatically.
Xu Wuyi’s eyes narrowed.
"He’s going to summon the Celestial Wolf Illusion! Stop him!" soone shouted.
But it was too late.
Milo threw his head back and let out a long howl.
The howl carried an ancient, majestic rhythm, like a call from primordial tis.
The air behind him distorted violently, and a five-ter-tall, silver-white Celestial Wolf Illusion slowly materialized.
The illusion’s four paws were wreathed in ethereal blue flas, and its crimson pupils, like two blood moons, coldly surveyed the battlefield.
The mont the Celestial Wolf Illusion appeared, a terrifying spiritual pressure descended upon the entire canyon.
The movents of all eight fighters beca noticeably sluggish.
Milo’s aura surged. Silver patterns appeared on his dark-gold fur, and the power of his claw strikes increased by at least thirty percent.
With a single swipe, Shi Gang’s shield was sent flying. He staggered back, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.
Liu Yue retreated rapidly, but the wind from the claw still grazed her waist, tearing her tactical suit and drawing blood.
The tide of battle turned in an instant.
And just then, the sound of chaotic footsteps and wolf howls ca from the canyon entrance.
Four Wolfman War Generals burst out of the forest. They had clearly been following Milo from a distance and had finally caught up.
Milo’s perception range was greater than they had anticipated. They hadn’t managed to lure him fully into the canyon, which ant the Werewolf Race reinforcents had also arrived ahead of schedule.
"Dammit, they have reinforcents!" a saber-wielding Martial Artist from the decoy team cursed through gritted teeth.
With four War Generals joining the fray, the already precarious situation grew even worse.
Xu Wuyi knew he could wait no longer.
He pushed off with his foot, his body shooting out of the cave like an arrow loosed from a bowstring.
Using Instant Shadow Step at full power, his speed was so great that he left an afterimage in his place as his true body crossed several hundred ters to appear at the bottom of the canyon.
The four Wolfman War Generals who had just charged onto the battlefield didn’t even have ti to see who had arrived before the glint of a dark-gold spear rapidly filled their vision.
Xu Wuyi held nothing back.
The Hundred Refinents lting Furnace within him roared to life. His Qi and Blood erupted like a volcano. He activated lting Furnace Boiling Blood, and a scorching, violent aura shot toward the sky.
On his teor Iron Long Spear, the [Undying Fla] burned fiercely. But it was not a scattered flicker; it had condensed into a flowing, liquid-like, dark-gold fla.
The first thrust pierced the throat of a Wolfman War General.
The fla instantly surged inside and erupted from within. The War General was incinerated into a pile of charcoal before it could even scream.
