"Since it can’t win, why doesn’t it run?"
Looking at those slender tentacles twisting in the moonlight, Zheng Qing was full of confusion: "This creature was able to escape across two worlds, shouldn’t it be able to keep running... Why hasn’t it run away?"
The black cat was clearly taken aback.
"Besides, even if for so reason it doesn’t intend to run, it shouldn’t be so weak." Jiang Yu had directly faced several followers of the Outer God before, and had a very clear judgnt of their danger:
"The ’Wizard World Encyclopedia’ stated that black goat juveniles have strong enchantnt powers... At such a short distance, did any of us just feel enchanted by it? How many demons hiding in the dark rushed out to shield it? It definitely has the ability to find several scapegoats."
The black cat’s tone was noticeably displeased, and its tail stopped swaying after being questioned by two young wizards: "Since you are so smart, what do you think is the reason for its weakness?"

Zheng Qing and Jiang Yu provided different guesses, exchanging glances, Zheng Qing imdiately adjusted his stance: "The weakening of the Outer God’s follower by the Black Prison should be one of the reasons for its frailty, but surely not the main reason... How do you interpret high-level suppression?"
The witch bit her lip, seemingly holding back laughter.
"When two similar beings exist in the sa domain, the one with higher status forms a natural suppression over the one with lower status." The black cat appeared enlightened and answered Zheng Qing’s question for the witch:
"...Just like a Tanggula Ice Chi and a Yangtze River Short-tailed Qiu appearing on the sa mountain; even if the Tanggula Ice Chi doesn’t pay attention to the Short-tailed Qiu, its natural aura will weaken the Short-tailed Qiu, drastically reducing its combat power!"
It stood with its tail erect, circling in a tiny round motion, stamping sticky ’plum blossom’ footprints on the ground, its tone out of annoyance:
"This is a very simple magical zoology principle... How could I overlook this? Clearly, I’m much smarter than a baboon!"
Rarely seeing the black cat taken aback.
Zheng Qing couldn’t help but chuckle, nodding thoughtfully about the black cat’s analysis: "So you agree with the ’high-level suppression’ hypothesis?"
The black cat emitted a deep growl from its throat, which served as a response.
Monts later, Zheng Qing seed to rember sothing, and his smile gradually disappeared.
Jiang Yu’s smile faded as well.
"Wait," the warlock’s lips twitched, glancing down at the black cat with its tail raised, his tone slightly unkind: "If I understood correctly... You just implied that I’m baboon?"
"No," the black cat proudly raised its head, denying: "You are an upright ape, not a baboon... I was rely using a taphor."
Zheng Qing was uncertain about whether upright ape or baboon was worse.
Jiang Yu seed to have the sa concern, as she kept rubbing the green jade bead in her palm, her gaze wandering between the black cat’s head and tail, contemplating whether to give the cheeky black cat a lesson.
"Don’t waste precious magic power on a re shadow."
Zheng Qing advised her thus: "As the saying goes, in the eyes of the fool, everybody is a genius, and for the short person, everyone is a giant... If in the eyes of ’certain beings’ we are baboons or upright apes, imagine what those beings must be like."
The witch burst into laughter.
The black cat, without a word, knocked Zheng Qing over with its tail.
The warlock dusted himself off and stood up, hearing a slight rustling sound in his ear. He glanced sidewise and saw the old witch demon sitting with the tiger demon’s corpse, slowly tearing and swallowing it.
Seeing its expression, it seed as if it wanted to chew and swallow every bone of the tiger demon.
Thinking of the painful scratch of bone fragnts sliding down the throat, the young wizard shivered inwardly and imdiately withdrew his gaze, resting his eyes on the Kunpeng Hunting Team for a few seconds.
Initially, he expected a long, hard duel over there, so he made an agreent with the old witch demon in advance. However, he didn’t anticipate the battle between Kunpeng and the Outer God’s minion to conclude so quickly.
This gave him a new choice.
"The trouble over there seems resolved,"
Zheng Qing pointed at the finishing hunters in the distance, telling his companions: "Since the ’Elder’s’ brother is also there, we should go and greet them... If convenient, ask them to guide us to Black Prison Castle; if not, we’ll let it lead the way."
’Elder’ was Zhang Ji Xin’s codena in the Atonent Hunting Team, which Jiang Yu also knew.
Speaking, the warlock slightly tilted his head, gesturing at the old witch demon buried in the tiger demon’s corpse.
The rustling stopped.
The old witch demon raised its head, its face sared with sticky blood, its eyes crimson-purple, speaking very seriously: "As agreed... I’ll take you to the Black Prison Castle if you give a magic potion before departure!"
"The agreent still stands, just we haven’t left yet." Zheng Qing responded amiably, leading Jiang Yu, Zhu Si, and the black cat toward the mountain pit still flowing with lava and green blood.
The old witch demon remained in place, continuing to gnaw on the tiger demon’s corpse. Under the all-encompassing moonlight above and clutching a magic potion in hand, Zheng Qing wasn’t worried about it escaping.
Jiang Yu fell half a step behind the warlock, taking several steps before speaking:
"It is Nicolas’s minion, and a top-tier registered wizard-level minion. If it was so easily suppressed... This ans another even more powerful minion exists within the Black Prison?"
Clearly, she referred to the black goat juvenile captured by Kunpeng.
Zheng Qing imdiately realized the witch’s concern.
But before he could offer comfort, a new voice answered her worries.
This ti, the answer was a series of distinct footsteps.
Clip-clop.
Clip-clop.
Hooves striking the stones, erging from behind and penetrating the silent, tranquil night, sounded very clear. This unexpected sound startled everyone—including the black cat, which hadn’t sensed any strange aura before hearing the sound. This explained the situation—everyone turned back in shock.
Out of the darkness erged a sleek, small black goat.
Standing about half a ter tall, its head was triangular with a straight nose bridge, two ears tilted forward, sporting slightly twisted sickle-shaped horns. Overall, it looked not much different from the pets the wizards kept in Beta Town.
The only remarkable feature was its red eyes, like smoldering coals, flickering in the darkness, not too bright, yet drawing a lot of attention.
