Xin Fat Man seems to have a crush on Senior Linda, and everyone can vaguely feel it.

But many young witches who arrive at the moonlight ball are there to find a good family, and this fact is well understood by everyone in the venue.

Therefore, upon seeing the blonde witch, Zheng Qing couldn’t help but mourn for the fat man for a few seconds.

"You never ntioned you were from Alpha Academy," the young cost student bead, reaching out to the witch approaching them: "It’s quite a surprise."

Linda Barnes, in a white robe, smiled slightly, pinching the boy’s three fingers gently before withdrawing her hand, causing disappointnt among many prying eyes.

"The First University’s perennial issue lies in all sorts of small cliques."

She didn’t imdiately state her purpose—of course, she had already fully expressed her intention during the D&K anniversary celebration, and Zheng Qing could guess it now—but she continued casually: "Ultimately, the campus newspaper is still the campus newspaper, though occasionally differing in stance from the Beta Town Post, no one has stipulated that Alpha People could not serve as the editor-in-chief of the campus newspaper."

"So, all the opinions on Buji Island are under Alpha’s control," Zheng Qing quietly quipped: "Are you practicing so ambidextrous skill?"

"That’s a malicious speculation about the journalistic ethics of a news worker." The witch blinked, responding cheerfully, with no trace of anger on her face.

It was at this point that Dylan found a chance to interject.

"So, do you want to hand over your Charm Gun to for safekeeping?" he poked the young cost student in the lower back, revisiting a topic from a few minutes ago.

Zheng Qing decisively shook his head, firmly declining Mister Wolfman’s kind offer: "Don’t worry, I do have so self-control, at worst, soone might spit in my face..."

This jest caused the blonde witch to laugh with a sound like silver bells, drawing many curious gazes and leaving the boy silently cursing his luck—he had no idea what was funny about that remark.

The next second.

Just as Zheng Qing was about to walk out of the corridor, he felt as if passing through a layer of veil, stopping to glance back, seeing pairs of mannerly witches walking elegantly, with nothing like a ’veil’ visible.

At the sa ti, the temperature suddenly rose, the cold outside vanished completely, leaving only a warm feeling enveloping the surroundings, accompanied by lively and lodious music, and even enchanting singing faintly wafting from behind the hall, making listeners feel serene and joyous.

"Did you feel that little hindrance just now?"

Linda Barnes raised a round fan to cover Half-Face, smiling and gazing at the young cost student—she seed intent on lingering around the boy to fulfill her wish of interviewing Su Shi Jun, hence positively assuming the guide’s role; while Dylan had again slipped away to so unknown place, vanished without a trace, without saying goodbye. Receiving the warlock’s curious look, she satisfactorily pointed upward with the fan: "Above!"

Zheng Qing raised his head to look up.

His gaze swept past white walls and classical paintings, suddenly elevating at so edge, plunging into a grand do resembling a starry sky, majestic yet simple, without a single chandelier, yet seemingly illuminating from everywhere, with lights like candle flas, starlight, phosphorescence, and dim moonlight overlapping, saturating the do’s center with brightness.

Perhaps noticing the warlock’s stare.

The center of the do resembling a starry sky slowly parted to the sides, like Moses before the Red Sea, or a historical epic’s curtain gradually opening.

"The do opens again!"

"Who? Which influential figure is arriving?"

"The last to open the do was Sir Friedman, I thought only Su Councilor remained..."

"Related to Su Councilor, it’s her dance partner, that certain soone from Jiuyou."

"Oh, that certain soone."

Around an unabashed whisper ’unafraid of a male warlock hearing,’ puzzled Zheng Qing—when did he beco unworthy of a na—but instantly, all question marks were transford into exclamations by the forceful sight ’behind the do.’

Behind the do was a huge ’living image.’

To describe more plainly, one might understand it as a classical group photo.

Hundreds of young witches in ornate attire mingled in the painting, drinking, chatting, and laughing. Zheng Qing ticulously recognized many familiar faces—from Friedman to Matthew, from Linda to Dylan, even Su Shi Jun, occupying a large portion of the painting’s space like a giant, mostly gazing at the starry sky, with her back to the world under the do, surrounded by young witches at her skirt’s edge, seeming insignificant.

If she hadn’t turned back, waving at the young cost student looking up, Zheng Qing might not have realized the vague huge shadow was his dance partner.

Naturally, without surprises, her turning back—or more appropriately, ’stooping’, ’favor’—eliciting a stifled yet joyous cheer in the hall, along with more searching sharp looks cast towards a specific warlock.

"As you can see."

Linda also seemingly aware of the heavy pressure conveyed through the gazes around them, carefully using polite terms, offering a dry smile: "The do painting recorded each guest’s shadow attending the ball, if you don’t mind, you can leave a mark proving your presence tonight..."

Due to well-known reasons, Zheng Qing was highly sensitive to sayings like ’leaving a shadow.’

But to minimize the objection among present young witches, it’s better to avoid special attention when possible, so he reluctantly nodded.

As soon as he nodded, a sudden breeze emanated from the corridor just passed through. He turned to see a glint of light fly out of the corridor, as if drawn by an invisible thread, heading into the do.

That glint initially was just an ink dot.

Yet, rapidly the ink spread out countless intricate lines, extending, expanding in all directions, interweaving to sketch a vivid portrait of the young cost student, lifelike, even capturing his Pointed Wizard Hat and Obsidian cufflinks in exquisite detail, almost as if alive.

Zheng Qing watched the entire process appreciatively, intending to comnt on his portrait on the do, only to see the ’gigantic Su Shi Jun’ slightly bend down, reaching towards his portrait.

Exclamations erupted all around.

Zheng Qing just wanted to disappear into the cracks made by his toes.

The witch’s long white fingers landed before the warlock, who embraced a finger, lightly kissed the fingertip, then nimbly jumped into her open palm, being gently lifted, placed on her shoulder, the two turning away from the world beneath the do, gazing into the boundless starry sky.
