Xiang Hang quickly left, and Wang Li held her forehead with both hands, obviously not in the mood to listen to her, and she hadn’t figured out how to persuade them.
Qin Mu felt like her mind was in a ss, unable to think of a way to help them. But should she go and scold Xiang Hang?
After dinner, Qin Mu went to the bookstore. The bookstore was about to open for business, and many books had already been placed on the shelves. Qin Mingzhu’s mother-in-law had returned to Beijing after the baby was a month old to take care of another child. Qin Mingzhu said the baby wasn’t feeling well today, so she didn’t co, and Qin Mu helped keep an eye on things.
At five o’clock, she went to wait for Mu Yichen under his office building. Mu Yichen ca down with Qiao Yi and Yang Qin. Qiao Yi and Yang Qin had things to do, so they parted ways while stepping off the stairs. Qin Mu looked in Yang Qin’s direction, and Yang Qin glanced at her car. It felt like won’s sixth sense; Qin Mu sensed that Yang Qin was looking at her with an expression that wasn’t quite hostile but not friendly either.
Hmm, just like how she felt about Yang Qin.
Turns out, they both didn’t feel good about each other.
Qin Mu raised an eyebrow, rolled down her car window, and greeted Qiao Yi. Qiao Yi smiled and ran over, leaning against the window: "Are you Yichen’s full-ti driver now?"
"If you need, I can be your temporary driver too!"
Qin Mu joked with him.
"Hmph! You’re too expensive a driver for to afford!"
Qiao Yi said.
"If you can’t afford it, then get lost!"
Mu Yichen couldn’t stand it after watching for a few seconds and lifted his foot to kick Qiao Yi’s leg, but luckily, Qiao Yi dodged quickly: "Goodbye, Xiaomu."
Mu Yichen got in the car, and Qin Mu drove him back. Mu Yichen sensed sothing was off in the car’s atmosphere, turned to her and asked, "Why do you seem unhappy?"
"It would be a wonder if I were happy. Brother Hang got soone to smash Zhang Hongyun’s apartnt because of what happened yesterday when she bothered ."
Qin Mu sighed and complained to him, as he was the only one she could talk to about it.
"Hmm! Well done!"
Mu Yichen gave a simple comnt after hearing that and was sowhat pleased with Xiang Hang.
"But Wang Li found out. The three of us had lunch together, and Xiang Hang suddenly proposed breaking up. You know Wang Li and I have had a pretty good relationship for years, and Xiang Hang has always been my bodyguard. I’ve always treated him like a brother. Now I’m stuck between the two of them, completely clueless about what to do."
Qin Mu shook her head after speaking, feeling like she was becoming a clown.
"What does it have to do with you? It’s their business whether they break up or stay together."
"But Brother Hang did it because of ."
Qin Mu glanced at him with disapproval, actually wanting Mu Yichen to convince her not to think too much about it.
"If they break up over this, it ans their relationship wasn’t that strong. What does Wang Li think is so terrible about it?"
Mu Yichen asked her.
"To be honest, if my boyfriend was a bodyguard, I’d probably feel a lot of pressure too."
"Isn’t your husband your bodyguard? How many thrilling things has your husband done?"
"That’s different!"
Qin Mu furrowed her brow, wondering how she had lived so carefreely all these years. She always felt everything was under Mu Yichen’s control.
But last ti, when Mu Yichen got hurt because of Yang Qin, she truly understood Wang Li’s feelings.
"There are so many car accidents on the road every day, what do you say?"
Mu Yichen asked her again.
"I think Wang Li is just being too sensitive and overreacting."
Qin Mu didn’t speak anymore, her head pounding, unsure how to communicate.
She wondered if she should ask Brother Hang to stop being a bodyguard.
But she didn’t want to; she had a good rapport with Brother Hang, but if this job cost him Wang Li, she pondered for half the night, then fell asleep in Mu Yichen’s arms from thinking too much.
Mu Yichen’s dark eyes remained gentle, whispering softly, "Fool!"
He knew Wang Li had given her a difficult problem, but he didn’t realize Wang Li would throw such an issue at Qin Mu so quickly, which made him sowhat unhappy.
Wang Li was a very shrewd woman but also soone with a strong sense of self-protection. A woman being overly ticulous inevitably leads to being overly sentintal, but what did that have to do with his wife?
Mu Yichen felt a bit annoyed seeing Qin Mu troubled over these insignificant people, but he had to restrain himself because these kinds of things often happened around them. As for Xiang Hang, he couldn’t treat him as ruthlessly as an ordinary subordinate.
However, the next morning, Mu Yichen left the house early.
Xiang Hang was already waiting outside the Mu Family residence. Mu Yichen walked out and lit a cigarette as he made his way toward Xiang Hang’s car. Seeing Mu Yichen, Xiang Hang instinctively got out of the car imdiately.
"Young Master Chen!"
Brother Hang called out formally, not thinking much else.
"Hmm! Have a smoke!"
Mu Yichen said, opening his cigarette box and shaking a cigarette out for Xiang Hang, who quickly took it, sowhat restrained.
Mu Yichen glanced at him, couldn’t help but chuckle at his stance: "You’ve been following Qin Mu for quite a few years now, haven’t you?"
"Yes!"
"Has it ever caused you any inconvenience in your life?"
Mu Yichen asked, his voice not high, as if he were just casually checking in on a subordinate.
"No! My duty is to protect madam."
Xiang Hang replied earnestly and seriously, realizing that the boss wasn’t happy.
Mu Yichen chuckled lightly: "Why so tense? We’re about the sa age. My wife always calls you Brother Hang and says you guard her well; she’s already taken you as her real brother!"
Mu Yichen said while patting Xiang Hang’s shoulder, turning slightly sideways, still holding the cigarette and taking a deep drag.
Although Xiang Hang was a bit wooden and straightforward in matters of emotions, he could still sense a whiff of jealousy.
"Young Master Chen, by saying this, are you thinking of... letting go?"
Honestly, this was the easiest job Xiang Hang had ever had; he didn’t want to switch jobs. He felt there was so understanding with Qin Mu now, and he feared he really couldn’t handle the picky nature of another employer.
Mu Yichen squinted slightly, looking ahead, with a seemingly smiling yet possibly sinister expression, which made Xiang Hang’s heart race with anxiety. The more he looked at Mu Yichen, the more he felt that he didn’t intend to keep him.
"Young Master Chen!"
