"Yichen! I definitely..."
Xiang Hang’s voice was drowned out by the sound of a horn.
Qin Mu drove out from the house and saw the two of them standing outside, instinctively honking the horn.
From her angle, although Mu Yichen had his back to her, Xiang Hang’s deanor clearly showed he had been confronted by Mu Yichen.
Qin Mu rolled down the car window, glancing over as she approached: "What are you two talking about? Mu Yichen?"
Qin Mu didn’t ask Xiang Hang but looked at Mu Yichen.
Mu Yichen turned sideways to her, smiled slightly, and then took a deep drag on his cigarette: "Just borrowing a cigarette from Xiang Hang!"
After he spoke, he lifted the hand holding the cigarette and then imdiately dropped it on the ground, extinguished it, and looked towards the direction of the house door. He walked around to Qin Mu’s passenger side, opened the car door, and elegantly got in, sitting comfortably.
As Qin Mu’s car moved away, Xiang Hang looked at the cigarette in his hand that had barely been smoked, took a hard puff, then got in his car and followed.
On the road, after passing a traffic light, Qin Mu asked Mu Yichen, "What did you just say to Xiang Hang?"
"Nothing much! Don’t overthink it!"
Mu Yichen looked outside, his eyes always half-closed.
Qin Mu guessed he was hiding sothing from her, but between two n, there shouldn’t be any major issues, so she didn’t ask further.
Mu Yichen didn’t go to the office building today, he went to AM instead. There was an important eting there this morning, and Yang Qin was already waiting at the hotel entrance.
Seeing Qin Mu driving over, Yang Qin took two steps back. After Mu Yichen got out of the car, she just stood aside quietly, waiting for Mu Yichen to finish talking with Qin Mu.
Mu Yichen bent his tall and straight figure towards the car window: "Not coming in?"
Qin Mu just smiled at him and then drove away.
Mu Yichen retracted his ambiguous gaze, stood upright, buttoned his suit, and walked inside with large strides. Yang Qin quickly followed, handing him the materials she had prepared.
Qiao Yi had already clashed with one of the senior executives, and when Mu Yichen entered the conference room, he saw several people with cold expressions, especially Qiao Yi and the person diagonal to him.
Zhao Huai leaned over and whispered in Mu Yichen’s ear after he went past, Mu Yichen glanced at the diagonal person, then lowered his head to open the file in his hand. Yang Qin sat on his other side, and the eting officially began.
The atmosphere in the conference room was oppressively tense to the point of madness, but it still ended before noon.
Mu Yichen, Yang Qin, Qiao Yi, and Zhao Huai were the last to leave the conference room. Qiao Yi had been holding back his temper, so there was always a hint of macho restraint on his face.
Zhao Huai put his hand on Qiao Yi’s shoulder but got pushed away as Qiao Yi walked coolly beside him.
Yang Qin, though aware this morning’s eting was different than usual, didn’t dare say much. As a secretary, she just did what she had to do, especially since Mu Yichen seed so calm, giving her the confidence to remain unflustered.
The four of them went downstairs for lunch. After finding a quiet spot to sit, Qiao Yi still didn’t speak, and Mu Yichen also remained silent, just started ordering dishes. The more Mu Yichen ordered, the deeper Qiao Yi’s frown beca, and by the end, Qiao Yi was utterly infuriated.
"Damn it! Mu Yichen, you’re screwing over!"
"What do you an? I’m just ordinarily ordering dishes, how is that screwing you over?"
"Is there anything here you like? It’s clearly all stuff I and Zhao Huai like—and I just know you can’t eat this stuff now! If that woman Qin Mu finds out, wouldn’t she give trouble?"
Qiao Yi shouted imdiately.
"Oh!"
Mu Yichen responded lightly and continued ordering dishes.
Qiao Yi beca frustrated, realizing that Mu Yichen did it on purpose. It was so easy for Mu Yichen to deal with him; he wanted to hold back his anger but unfortunately didn’t have enough wisdom.
Zhao Huai had been holding back laughter, but now he couldn’t help it, "Brothers, I’ve learned a new trick today!"
"What are you learning?"
Qiao Yi imdiately snapped at him.
"Yeah, yeah, I shouldn’t learn, shouldn’t learn. As long as you’re calm, just drink so tea and relax a bit!"
Zhao Huai patted his back while pouring him tea, urging him to take a break.
Qiao Yi finally muttered under his breath, "Damn it, does he even know what he’s saying? Is his head full of crap?"
"I heard that Zhao’s general manager’s daughter is dating the Crown Prince over there, and they might get married."
Yang Qin knew they all felt uneasy and, after thinking it over, shared the gossip she had heard from colleagues.
