It seed several bones might have been broken.
"Don't run! Don't run! Let run first!" The High Priest, despite his painful expression, couldn't be bothered with his injuries, crawling and scrambling towards the door propelled by adrenaline.
"Uh?"
Ian hesitated.
Like realizing sothing, he turned his head—sure enough, the decaying body that was previously sitting on the throne was now standing behind him, tilting its dry head to gaze at him.
This humanoid alchemy monster seed to have been manipulated by invisible large hands, standing in an extrely twisted posture, its eyes hollow but radiating a chilling coldness.
"Hello."
Ian politely nodded.
The magic wand he held suddenly shot out a dazzling light.
"Boom!"
The magic hit its mark.
With a loud explosion, the humanoid monster's body was instantly shattered into pieces, dissolving into ashes amidst the Fiery Fire that rose subsequently.
It had no ability to resist at all.
Just as Ian had judged, it was rely a broken alchemy creation. Though it might have once possessed great power, now it was less than a walking corpse.
"It's not as scary as you all thought."
When Ian turned his head back, the temple was devoid of others' presence, only a little girl still kneeling on the ground, staring at him with wide Carslan eyes.
The gaze of the little girl was filled with uncertainty and shock.
"I think everyone is reasonable, you saw it, right? He showed the blood bar first... Um, I an he lacked martial virtue and attempted a sneak attack."
"Trust , it's really just a broken alchemy creation."
Ian exchanged looks with the little girl known as the Dream Guardian Queen. At this mont, the empty temple was left without others, and the atmosphere beca sowhat awkward.
Faced with Ian's explanation.
The little girl continued to kneel there, looking at Ian with Carslan eyes, not responding, her face revealing a few degrees of unbelievable shock.
Silence persisted.
Ian wasn't soone fond of silent atmospheres. He was indeed a bit embarrassed by his reflex, mainly because the little girl's gaze was truly hard to adapt to. He thought the little girl didn't understand his choice of words, so he tried an approach the counterpart might understand.
"Sorry for blowing up your gods... Can this be settled if I compensate you?" The Little Wizard's way of thinking was always peculiar and unique.
He wasn't mocking; he just had long since realized these strange priests weren't like regular clergy who believe in their served deity.
They seed more afraid of the things slumbering in this temple. Ian wanted these people to understand the essence of the thing, but evidently, this group might not have encountered biological alchemy.
No way around it.
Ian could only adopt their term for the alchemy creation.
"Or I could make you a new one of those things... I've researched before, though lacking wisdom, but we could catch a Dentor and stuff it inside."
"Oh, right, you probably don't have Dentors here, which could be a bit tricky." Ian transford into a wisp of white mist from the altar, drifting down to the temple floor.
He reverted into a humanoid form in front of the little girl.
"This is magic."
Ian explained a bit to prevent scaring the little girl. Though he sensed magic power on her, this era's Little Wizards knew little about it.
"I know."
Fortunately, the little girl didn't make a fuss, she just stared at Ian with astonished eyes, fixating her gaze unerringly on Ian's face.
Ian moved slightly.
The little girl's gaze followed his movents a bit. Her gaze made Ian sowhat uneasy, this was an expression Ian hadn't seen before, lacking hate or hostility but filled with admiration.
Just as Ian was striving to adjust,
"I've always been singing to you." The little girl suddenly spoke, her voice crisp like a mountain creek, her eyes bright with color.
"Since I rember, it's been daily." The girl stood up lightly, like a feather, starting a curious circle around Ian.
"Every morning I must stand below the altar and sing. They say these are hymns for the gods. In those songs, I saw a different world."
"A world utterly unlike ours." The girl suddenly ceased her circling, raised her hand, gently touching the Little Wizard in front of her.
"It's you, I know it's you... not that ugly monster earlier." The girl seed pleased at touching Ian, her whole face written with exhilaration.
"I think everyone got it wrong, you're not here to destroy us, you're here to save us." The girl suddenly hugged Ian, making him sowhat cluelessly lift his hand.
"I only followed an evil wizard here... You know wizards, right." Ian attempted to escape the grip, but the girl held on tightly.
He exerted much effort finally peeling the girl off.
