[Vid: Landon Johnson might be a problem, Dad, don’t interact with him anymore!]
Vid quickly wrote this sentence in the Friendship Book and then imdiately contacted Lupin, asking him to protect his parents.
A few seconds later, a reply appeared in the Friendship Book—
[Ferdinand: Why say this suddenly... Did you hear about Annie’s passing too?]
[Lupin: Okay, I’m on my way now.]
[Ferdinand: Dumbledore checked Landon’s mory and found nothing wrong. They think perhaps Annie saw sothing she shouldn’t have while gathering information, which is why she was targeted.]
[Lupin: I’ve arrived at the Gray’s house, the door is locked, and no one is inside. Mr. and Mrs. Gray aren’t ho?]
[Fiona: Dear, we’re very safe right now, no need to worry. However, during your rest days, don’t just focus on studying; flying on brooms with your classmates is good too!]

The ssages appeared on the parchnt, back and forth. Vid, after reading one, barely had ti to respond before new words appeared on another parchnt.
But there was a contradiction in their words, making Vid feel a chill down his spine.
He picked up his pen, hesitated for a mont, and wrote on the "Family" page:
[Are you all at ho now?]
Subsequently, new ssages appeared—
[Ferdinand: No, we moved out.]
[Ferdinand: Just in case, Dumbledore found us a bodyguard, reputed to be a very skilled retired Auror.]
[Ferdinand: But he’s a bit eccentric, unwilling to leave his familiar surroundings, so we temporarily rented a house next to his.]
Vid let out a long sigh of relief, a thin layer of sweat already ford on his back.
He first inford Lupin about his parents’ relocation to prevent him from worrying, then asked:
[Vid: Who is that retired Auror? I asked Remus to help protect you, he went to our house and saw no one, which terrified .]
He couldn’t help but grumble a bit at the end.
[Fiona: Sorry, Vid, we didn’t tell you about the move because we didn’t want you to worry at school. We’ll definitely co back before the sumr holiday if everything is okay.]
Fiona drew a tongue-sticking-out emoji, as if playfully making a face.
[Ferdinand: Don’t bla your mom, it was my idea too.]
[Ferdinand: The Auror is nad Alastor Moody, although he’s a bit grumpy, his scars are his badges of honor. Now he’s our neighbor, I’m sure no dark wizard could escape his detection on this street.]
[Fiona: He’s just a bit paranoid. The first ti we t, he suspected the poppets you sent were assassins disguised as toys and wanted us to throw them away.]
[Vid: ...Assassins?]
[Fiona: Yes, isn’t it absurd? We swore that Coco and the others wouldn’t enter his house, and he finally agreed to let us keep the little ones, telling Dumbledore if we got killed by poppets, it wouldn’t be his fault.]
You could tell Fiona was trying to sound objective, but there was still a hint of resentnt.
Vid couldn’t help but chuckle.
He certainly rembered Alastor Moody. Although he didn’t appear much in the storyline, he was acknowledged as the strongest Auror.
Even though he aged, retired, and was considered paranoid... people just thought he was senile, not a weak one needing protection.
With Moody living next to his parents, Vid was, of course, reassured.
He would also not forget that without Dumbledore’s request, a retired hero like Moody living in seclusion would never co to be the bodyguard of two ordinary people.
Vid didn’t overestimate himself, nor did he underestimate his worth. He knew Dumbledore must have his reasons for valuing the safety of the Greys.
He gratefully accepted it, knowing he could surely repay such goodwill.
[Vid: Dad, do you still need to go to work?]
[Ferdinand: Most work can be handled online. If docunts need signing, Darren will bring them over.]
Darren was Ferdinand’s assistant, usually helping him with various work matters, and sotis even picked up Vid from school.
After chatting casually with his parents, Vid relayed Dumbledore’s arrangents to Lupin, thanked him for his help, and apologized for his instability.
[Lupin: There’s nothing to apologize for. Anyone would be nervous when it concerns their family. I actually envy the bond you have with your family.]
[Lupin: Also, because of this, Sirius finally left the Black mansion. This was the first he heard of it, now he’s rushed to Dumbledore to apply to join the investigation.]
[Vid: Sirius? Is he alright? This matter might involve so dark wizards willing to kill easily, and any carelessness could lead to danger.]
[Lupin: It’s nothing, we’ve fought the most dangerous dark wizards in the world. Besides, having sothing to do can help lift Sirius’s spirits.]
[Lupin: Anyway, to facilitate action, we’ve returned to Hogsade. You can still co over and play on the weekends.]
[Vid: I’ll skip playing, I want to quickly learn the Patronus Charm.]
[Lupin: The Patronus Charm? It’s one of the most powerful and ancient Defense Spells, very difficult to learn.]
[Vid: I know, I’ve seen it in many ancient magic legends, and it counters most dark magic, that’s why I want to learn it.]
[Lupin: Alright, starting this weekend, we’ll begin learning the Patronus Charm.]
Pausing briefly, Lupin added:

Vid looked at this line, showing a bitter smile.
He certainly knew so people were willing to sacrifice themselves to protect others, but those whom he relied on when he was weak—
Dumbledore, Lupin, Sirius, even Moody...
None of them lived to the end.
