Behind The Spotlight Chapter 228

Well, that was in the past, a long-forgotten issue. Even if the scandal ca out now, no one would really care. Ellie couldn't use it against Lawrence and his team.

Instead, Lawrence's fans would probably burn her to death for cheating. What happened back then couldn't stop Lawrence's fa anymore.

Then Collin looked at Lawrence, his brows slightly furrowed, as if weighing possibilities.

"What will happen then? Will Emma's introduction bring us any problems or not?" Collin asked quietly, half talking to himself and half talking to Lawrence, who was busy interacting with other people.

The West had an open-minded ntality and they respected their favorite actor marrying a woman. But there were still so cases where die-hard fans couldn't accept it.

'Let the Blackstone Corporation handle it. They have a lot of money to spend anyway.'

The next day, tabloids and small publishers wrote an article about Lawrence's marriage. However, news stations never talked about it, as if they were told not to.

Just as Collin expected, Blackstone Corporation was a powerful organization for a reason. Collin appreciated their influence, as he could tap into this power once in a while, a very useful connection... Although he admitted that sacrificing Lawrence for this power was pretty bad.

At the end of the day, it was all about benefits and profits.

Three weeks passed and it was now April. Nation TV had been advertising a new TV show for their morning segnt. It was a morning talk show. Jennifer's face was plastered on television, as she was the face of this TV show.

Jennifer was gorgeous. Being in her mid-30s didn't stop her from blooming. Furthermore, Jennifer had been dating soone lately, which made her glow even more.

Jennifer went into many relationships as the years went by, and none of them really lasted long. At this point, she might not be interested in sothing long-term. Was she waiting for soone or sothing?

As for her position in The Singing Voice, Jennifer was still on the show. She just had to work hard to keep up with the production schedule.

Fortunately, The Singing Voice aired on weekends while her talk show aired on weekdays, which saved her. Her schedule was packed, but they didn't collide with each other. She could work on two shows as long as she wanted to.

Jennifer's salary on the morning talk show was $25,000 per episode, smaller than The Singing Voice's $50,000 per episode. However, the talk show had five episodes per week while The Singing Voice only had two episodes per week.

If you looked at it that way, Jennifer's salary as the talk show host was not that bad. This was just the initial amount. Once the talk show beca permanent and gained popularity, her salary would also increase.

Jennifer had been working so hard these past few weeks, attending production etings. It was obvious that she wanted the show to succeed.

Their talk show was called Morning with Jennifer, the official title. The production team copied so inspiration from The Tonight Show with Rey Reno.

However, this kind of format had so bad effects on the host, as the show could change its host and slightly change the title.

It had happened many tis, such as The Tonight Show with Anthony Jas.

Then it changed to The Tonight Show with Ray Reno.

In the future, it could change to The Tonight Show with Conan Bryan.

In the later future, it could change to The Tonight Show with Jim Falcon.

In short, Jennifer's existence on the show might not be permanent.

This kind of format could be bad for Jennifer. However, it was a situation Jennifer had to accept. The morning talk show was still temporary, and so was Jennifer.

All she had to do was work hard and prove herself to the production team and the TV network. She had to show them her worth and that the show was anchored by her. She must be the selling point of the show.

The first five episodes of Morning with Jennifer were pre-recorded, as Nation TV hadn't given them approval to go live yet.

On Monday, Jennifer was in a room full of mbers from the production crew. The atmosphere was tense. There were phones and monitors showing the current show that Nation TV was airing. Almost all mbers of the production team were present to watch the first episode they had created.

Aside from the production team, Collin and Salvador were also in the room.

"You won," Salvador murmured, his expression unreadable as he kept his arms folded.

"Nah, everyone won," Collin replied in a humble tone. For him, this was not a battle. At least he didn't treat Salvador as an enemy. The conflict they had was sothing Collin could shrug off.

Salvador chuckled before exhaling heavily. Indeed, it was not really a battle.

"Well, to be precise, no one has won yet. The show's fate is uncertain until the first episode is aired. Nation TV advertised the show, but no one knows if the show will actually succeed or not."

Salvador was actually nervous. This show was handled by ANT with him leading it. Almost all mbers of the production team were from ANT. If the show failed, this whole team would lose their jobs. That single consequence alone made Salvador's hands tremble. He kept clenching them as if trying to calm himself.

For now, he had no intention of scheming. All he wanted was for the show to succeed so that he would have more leverage in the company.

"Collin, I've been dying to ask you a question," he said, his voice lower than usual.

"What is it?" Collin asked, glancing at him before turning his eyes back to the screen.

"What do you want to be? Or should I say, what do you see yourself doing in the next decade?" Salvador leaned against the wall.

"In the next decade, huh? I hope I'm still in the industry, earning a lot of money." Collin shrugged. He imagined himself living a good and comfortable life... Perhaps having a wife and a child?
