Behind The Spotlight Chapter 229
"I'm not satisfied with that answer." Salvador shook his head. He pulled out a cigarette and lit it up, the fla trembling slightly in his unsteady fingers.
"What kind of answer do you want from ? You don't have to worry. As long as our intentions don't conflict, I won't prevent you from getting what you want. Ten years is a long ti for to predict the future, and countless variables could change everything."
"That's enough. It's nice working with you." Salvador extended his hand. He knew that Collin had no intention of answering his questions.
"It's nice working with you too. I hope we can continue working together," Collin said, shaking his hand firmly. No one knew if he was lying or not. His smile didn't give anything away, it was the sa calm smile he always wore.
Then, the ti for the morning talk show to air had arrived. After a short comrcial for kiddie vitamins with bright cartoon characters dancing on screen, Morning with Jennifer was broadcast.
The production team went all out for the first episode. Their first guest was Jolyne Robs. This was their hook factor, a popular celebrity guaranteed to draw viewers. Aside from Jolyne Robs, the show also invited another B-tier actress who starred in Nation TV's cody show.
Jennifer was entertaining the whole ti, and even the production mbers who had watched the first episode so many tis were laughing at her jokes, even though they had already heard them.
In the last segnt of the show, Jennifer hosted a casual ga with the audience, and whoever won would receive a giveaway. The show still had no sponsors, so the giveaways ca from the production budget, a small sacrifice to make the segnt exciting.
While the team was watching, so people were also busy receiving calls from the organization responsible for tracking the TV viewership of a show. It was called Nielsen Ratings, or Nielsen dia Research.
When the show ended, everyone in the room clapped their hands. Then, they all looked at the people who were busy receiving calls, waiting for the results.
Jennifer's hands were trembling as she squeezed the can of soda in her hands. She then looked at Collin, who kept his composure, standing quietly near the back.
For so reason, Collin didn't show any nervousness. He was just present to show support.
The docunts were faxed, and Producer Joel read them first before making an announcent. Everyone was silent, looking at the producer. Even Director Patrick had his palms sweating heavily.
Producer Joel coughed and cleared his throat.
"Ahem, in the first quarter of the show, Morning with Jennifer had a rating of 1.7 million viewers."
People started murmuring that the number was not bad. So were already nodding in satisfaction. Their show was created within a busy schedule, and they had a short ti to prepare, so expectations were modest.
Then Producer Joel continued.
"During the second and third quarters of the show, the ratings steadied at 2.9 million viewers."
There was already so celebration, as the numbers were good signs. At least Nation TV wouldn't axe their show after just the first episode, sothing every new program feared.
Suddenly, Producer Joel's tone turned serious.
"As for the last and fourth quarter of Morning with Jennifer, the show reached 5.3 million viewers."
"What!? Haha! We did it!"
"We did it!"
Director Patrick sighed in relief when he heard the result. He sat down as his body felt weak. All the tension in his body disappeared. At least the first hurdle of the show was overco.
A 5.3 million viewership for a premiere episode was a promising sign. It showed that the talk show had caught the interest of many people. Even The Tonight Show had an average viewership of 5 million.
However, none of these people thought about what was about to happen within the week.
Salvador took a deep puff from his cigarette. He looked composed, but his trembling hand betrayed him. Still, there was a slight smile on his lips, a mixture of pride and relief.
With this result, he could show his face at the ANT building tomorrow. In fact, he was congratulated by the others because the show had good potential.
As for Jennifer...
"Collin! We did it!" She jumped up and pounced on Collin. The agent prepared himself and didn't stumble from her attack, he had expected her excitent.
Jennifer hugged Collin in excitent, and Collin hugged her back.
"Jennifer, calm down."
"Hahaha! I'm sorry, I'm sorry." Jennifer was smiling from ear to ear. She had been so stressed the whole ti, and now that the result of the premiere episode was good, Jennifer finally felt at ease.
Collin patted her back. He was also happy for Jennifer. He had great trust in every client he had because he knew all of their strongest points.
He believed that Jennifer would do well because she was using her strongest talent. She had no reason to fail. The formula of their show was not bad, it used Jennifer's talent perfectly.

...
Five days later, at the headquarters of CBA Network.
"This is the viewership of the new morning show from Nation TV?" CEO Kennedy asked his secretary. As the CEO of a TV network, he had to know the information of other networks to assess their situations and co up with a plan to counter them.
"Yes, sir."
Currently, their TV network had the highest viewership rating in the tislot of 9 to 10 a.m.
Their show was a court show called Judge Juddie.
Judge Juddie was a courtroom reality TV show that tackled small claims court cases. Once in a while, it also covered infidelity and paternity cases, topics that always attracted attention. The average viewership of the show was 6 million.
CEO Kennedy opened the docunts and read them, his expression neutral at first.
The first episode of Morning with Jennifer had an average viewership of 3.2 million, while the highest viewership reached 5.3 million. Considering that it was the premiere of Morning with Jennifer, CEO Kennedy didn't find it odd that the show reached 3.2 million viewers. He believed it was because of Nation TV's relentless advertising.
In the second episode, the average viewership rose to 4.5 million. Now things were getting interesting. That surge in viewership ant that the show had potential.
In the third episode, the average viewership was 5.1 million.
In the fourth episode, the average viewership reached 6.3 million, surpassing Judge Juddie.
The more he read the docunt, the more his expression darkened. The viewership was steadily climbing. He had a dangerous premonition.
Then he saw the fifth episode, which aired today, showing an impressive rise.
8.5 million viewership!!!
Most of the audience were housewives who found the show entertaining and relatable, sothing they could enjoy during their daily routines.
The show's formula focused on interviewing people, mostly celebrities and individuals who had inspiring experiences in their lives. Aside from that, the host, Jennifer Randon, delivered jokes smoothly. She also played gas that entertained the audience in the studio.
