Chapter 1727: Story 1727: The First Ember War

Centuries passed since Kael’s last step through the forests of the Cradle.

What began as whispers of hope had grown into empires of fla—kingdoms built on the light he had scattered. The Dreamfire lived in the hearts of humankind, but so too did the Hollow, buried deep beneath ambition and pride.

The Age of Dreamfire had beco the Age of Division.

In the city of Vareth, where towers of molten glass touched the clouds, the first war ignited not from hunger, but from faith. Two factions—the Emberborn and the Hollowguard—claid the true aning of Kael’s fire. The Emberborn believed the Dreamfire was divine, a gift ant to cleanse the weak. The Hollowguard saw it as balance—a force of renewal and destruction, to be respected, not worshipped.

At dawn, their banners burned side by side in the smoke-choked wind.

Among them walked Liraen Vale, a descendant of Serin, the Hamr of Dawn. Her eyes burned like molten gold, and the old sigil of the Cradle was etched across her armor. She carried no hamr—only a shard of light that pulsed with Kael’s forgotten breath.

“You fight over fire,” she told the generals, her voice calm amid chaos. “But fire does not serve. It becos what you make of it.”

No one listened.

By nightfall, the skies of Vareth turned crimson. Dreamfire cannons roared, their light scorching the horizon. The ground itself wept fla as both sides unleashed their fury. The air rippled, and through it—like a heartbeat from another world—the Hollow stirred.

It had never truly died.

In the wake of blood and brilliance, the Hollow’s voice crept through the screams of the dying.

“You see? They burn as you burned. Your gift was not salvation—it was spark.”

Kael’s spirit, long silent, awoke in the storm. From the heart of the battlefield, where reality bent and shadows took form, his voice thundered through the inferno.

“You mistake the fla for its maker. The fire was never ant to rule you—it was ant to remind you that you are not dust.”

Liraen raised the shard, its light resonating with his voice. For a heartbeat, the war froze. The fires dimd. Every soldier felt it—the pulse of sothing greater than rage.

Then ca the silence.

From that stillness, Liraen drove the shard into the earth. The explosion was silent but vast, spreading waves of light that erased both armies’ weapons. Dreamfire rained from the sky, gentle as snow.

When the light faded, only ash and warmth remained.

Liraen stood alone in the center, Kael’s whisper fading in her mind:

“Do not forge peace from conquest. Forge it from mory.”

And so, the first Ember War ended—not in victory, but in awakening. The Dreamfire dimd across the lands, choosing no side, no kingdom. It had returned to those who would seek it not for power, but for truth.

The Hollow retreated once more, whispering to the ashes:

“The next spark will be yours.”

The world waited, trembling—knowing the next fire was already being born.
