Capítulo 1785: Story 1785: When the Loomchild Wakes

The detonation of Dreamfire swallowed the chamber in a storm of gold and void-black. The Nexus cracked open like a dying star, bleeding radiance in every direction. Gravity twisted. Sound folded in on itself. The Hollow Sovereign’s scream rose into a jagged crescendo—

—and then abruptly collapsed into silence.

Erian slamd into the ground hard enough to rattle his bones. His vision swam. The air tasted like tal and dust. He forced himself up, coughing.

Across the chamber, the Sovereign writhed, its enormous form unraveling thread by thread. Void tendrils snapped like torn cables, flailing wildly before dissolving into fragnts of empty light. Its voice, once thunderous, now trembled with a strange, pitiful fear.

“YOU… HAVE CUT THE HEART…”

Its form shrank, collapsing inward.

“THIS REALM… FALLS WITH …”

Marra stumbled to Erian’s side, breathing hard. “Good. Let it fall.”

Tovin limped toward them, smoke rising from his hair. “Not good! Not good at all! If the realm collapses while we’re still in it, we’re going to fall too! Into what? Into nothing! And nothing is very bad for continued living!”

Lun didn’t respond.

Their attention was locked on the Loomchild.

The cocoon, once flickering and dim, now blazed with silver-white radiance. Freed from the Sovereign’s siphon, its threads pulsed with renewed strength. Cracks spiderwebbed across the surface—glowing, trembling, alive.

“Erian…” Lun whispered. “They’re waking.”

A pulse rippled outward.

The cocoon shattered.

But instead of falling apart, it unfolded—petals of luminous thread peeling back like a flower opening to the dawn. At its center floated the Loomchild, smaller than before, but brighter… impossibly bright.

Their eyes opened.

Erian froze.

Where once their eyes held the softness of a child, now they swirled with the layered awareness of sothing ancient—sothing re-woven. Their voice echoed across the chamber, gentle but carrying the power of a rising sun:

“You ca for .”

Lun’s knees buckled with relief. “Always.”

Marra let out a shaky laugh. “Kid, you scared the life out of us.”

Tovin added, “Literally! I think I died a little. Inside.”

The Loomchild reached out, touching Lun’s forehead. “Thank you for holding together.”

Light passed between them like a breath.

But the reunion was cut short as the chamber convulsed. The collapsing Sovereign scread one final ti before its form imploded, taking with it the last of the Nexus’s stability.

Cracks tore through the realm.

Reality shuddered.

Erian stepped forward. “Loomchild—can you get us out?”

The Loomchild tilted their head, listening to sothing far away.

“Yes,” they finally said. “But not through the way we ca.”

The realm around them dissolved into collapsing fragnts of mory, each one blinking out like dying stars.

“Then where?” Marra demanded.

The Loomchild extended their hand.

A new path ford—woven from threads of pure light, spiraling toward a distant horizon.

“We leave the Hollow behind,” they said.

“But the way forward… leads deeper into the Weave.”

Tovin swallowed. “Is that good or bad?”

The Loomchild smiled softly.

“Yes.”

And the path lit beneath their feet.
