The being stood between the frozen hunter and the shattered city beyond, its body made of shifting black structures that never fully held shape.
It looked like death trying to stand upright.
The entity raised one long arm toward the hunter’s skull.

The entity did not answer.
Instead, it slowly turned back toward the hunter.
The massive predator finally managed to move its jaw slightly.
A deep growl escaped its throat.
The prison around it cracked wider.
The frozen debris around the street suddenly began falling again.

The guardian creature’s eyes widened in alarm.
“Elena... it can’t hold the world forever.”
Outside, the hunter’s enormous body began moving again inch by inch, pushing against the invisible force.
The entity stood silently watching the struggle.
Then it lifted its arm once more.

The city trembled.
