The skeletal entity’s arm continued to rise.
Slow.
Inevitable.
The frozen city trembled around it as if the world itself could feel what was about to happen.
Above the shattered street, the hunter struggled violently against the invisible prison of halted ti. Its burning orange eye twitched again, rage and terror fighting inside the ancient predator.
Cracks spread through the air around its body like fractures in glass.
Ti was breaking.
Elena Voss staggered to her feet inside the ruined basent.
Her legs felt weak, but fear forced them to move.
“You can’t let it do that,” she whispered.
The guardian creature turned toward her in alarm.
“Elena, no.”
But she stepped toward the broken wall anyway.
Outside, the towering entity still held its arm raised toward the sky.
If it completed the motion... the world would stop forever.
The hunter roared again as its massive claws finally slamd against the pavent, shattering the invisible barrier around it.
For a split second, ti snapped back into motion.
Dust fell.
Debris crashed to the ground.
Wind rushed through the street again.
The hunter lunged forward instantly, its enormous jaws snapping toward the skeletal entity’s chest.
But the entity moved faster.
Its arm dropped.
Not in attack.
In command.
The air collapsed inward with a thunderous crack.
Ti froze again.
The hunter stopped mid-bite, its teeth only inches from the entity’s body.
Silence returned.
Elena stepped out into the shattered street.
The guardian creature limped after her.
“Elena... please...”
She ignored him.
Her eyes were locked on the towering being made of shifting darkness.
“You said the door opens twice,” she said.
The entity slowly turned toward her.
Even in the frozen world, its presence bent the air around it.
Yes.
Elena placed her trembling hand against the scar on her chest.
The faint outline of the crooked eye symbol still burned beneath her skin.
“You ca through the first ti,” she said.
The entity watched silently.
Her voice grew stronger.
“So the second ti... I decide.”
The guardian creature’s eyes widened in horror.
“Elena, don’t!”
But sothing had changed.
The mont Elena said those words, the scar on her chest flared again.
The crooked eye symbol began glowing faintly beneath her skin.
The entity tilted its head.
For the first ti... it looked uncertain.
The door belongs to silence.
Elena shook her head.
“No.”
She stepped closer.
“You said I’m the door.”
The mark burned brighter.
“That ans it’s my door.”
The frozen city trembled again.
The hunter’s body twitched inside the prison of ti.
The entity raised its arm once more.

Elena scread as the mark exploded with heat across her chest.
Pain shot through her body as the crooked eye symbol began opening again.
But this ti sothing was different.
The darkness did not pour outward.
It pulled inward.
Back into her.
The entity’s endless black gaze locked onto her in sudden realization.
Impossible.
Elena gritted her teeth through the pain.
“You don’t get to stay.”
The mark dragged violently at the air around the entity, pulling at the very darkness that made up its body.
Like a doorway reversing direction.
The guardian creature whispered in shock.
“She’s... closing it...”
The skeletal entity stepped forward.
For the first ti since it arrived... it resisted.
You cannot seal silence.
Elena scread louder.
“I don’t have to seal it!”
The glowing mark on her chest pulsed like a heart.
“I just have to send you back!”
The world trembled violently.
The frozen hunter began moving again as ti cracked apart around them.
The entity’s towering body started unraveling into streams of black energy being pulled toward Elena’s chest.
Its voice echoed across the city.
The door will open again.
Elena collapsed to her knees as the power tore through her.
“Then I’ll be ready.”
The darkness surged.
And the thing that waited at the end of every world...
began to fall back into the door it had co from.
