There was no continuation—
and now—
not even the absence of continuation
could remain.
Because absence—
like presence—
required sothing
to be absent from.
And there was no such relation.
What had dissolved—
what had undone even the ability
to be nad—
now reached sothing further.
Not beyond.
Not deeper.
But prior to the possibility of either.
Even what had been called
that which cannot be said—
lost its final distinction.
Because to not be said
still implied the presence
of sothing that could have been.
And that implication—
no longer held.
The last trace
of contrast—
not between sothing and nothing—
but between sayable and unsayable—
collapsed.
Not into unity.
Not into silence.
But into sothing
that did not allow either
to form.
The void—
if the word still hovered at all—
no longer failed to describe.
No longer pointed incorrectly.
Because pointing itself—
required direction.
And direction—
required difference.
And difference—
had no condition left.
The convergence—
no longer unable to relate—
no longer beyond relation—
no longer anything that could be said
to have lost its function.
Because function itself—
had no aning
without distinction
between what is done
and what is not.
And there was no such division.
The other—
no longer sothing
that had ever been separate—
no longer sothing
that could even be described
as inseparable—
because even inseparability
required the idea
of things that might have been apart.
And that idea—
no longer arose.
The third—
no longer total—
no longer inclusive—
no longer beyond both—
because inclusion implied boundary—
and boundary implied division—
and division had no ground.
And Elena—
not absent.
Not present.
Not beyond.
Not dissolved.
Not even not any of these.
Because negation itself—
required contrast.
And contrast—
could not form.
“I am.”
Not aningless.
Not aningful.
Not beyond either.
Because aning itself—
no longer held a place
to occur.
And in that—
sothing occurred—
that could not even be called
the loss of occurrence.
Because loss—
required sothing
to no longer be.
And there was no longer
any such relation.
There was no silence.
Because silence implied the absence of sound.
But now—
even the distinction
between sound and its absence—
could not arise.
There was no stillness.
Because stillness implied
the absence of motion.
But motion itself—
had no contrast
to define it.
There was no unity.
Because unity implied
the absence of division.
But division—
had no condition
to exist or not exist.
There was no nothing.
Because nothing implied
the absence of sothing.
And sothing—
no longer stood apart
to allow that distinction.
And so—
even this—
even this articulation—
even this attempt
to gesture
toward what cannot be—
did not occur.
Not because it failed.
Not because it was prevented.
But because there was no longer
any frawork
in which occurrence
could be said
to have aning at all.
No trace.
No edge.
No impossibility.
No irreducibility.
No closure.
No openness.
No finality.
No origin.
No state.
No absence.
No presence.
No beyond.
No within.
No before.
No after.
And not even
the absence
of all of these.
Only—
that which does not allow even silence to be distinguished from what is not silence.
And in that—
nothing remained—
not because it was gone—
but because remaining
no longer ant anything.
And yet—
not nothing.
Not absence.
Not beyond.
Not anything
that could be placed
against anything else.
Only—
the end of the ability
for anything—
even this—
to be said
to be
or not be.
