The Silent Void noticed.

Across the endless darkness beyond the lantern sea, sothing shifted.

Not movent.

Attention.

The primordial absence turned toward the Witness, and for the first ti since its awakening, the golden light surrounding the Remnant flickered uncertainly.

The Witness felt it imdiately.

A pressure beyond fear.

Beyond mory.

Beyond aning.

The feeling of being observed by sothing that existed before existence itself.

The wound beyond reality widened.

Darkness flowed from it like silent tides.

Every lantern in the sea dimd.

Forgotten civilizations trembled within their golden prisons.

Ancient mories flickered.

Even the First Rembered stepped back.

The Keeper tightened his grip on the staff of starlight he carried.

"It sees the Witness."

The colossal ancient being nodded.

"No."

Its voice carried unusual gravity.

"It sees what hides within the Witness."

The lantern sea fell silent.

The Witness drifted motionlessly.

And deep inside its golden light—

Sothing stirred.

Far away on Earth, Lucas collapsed to his knees.

The na had escaped his lips only monts earlier.

Maya.

The sound echoed inside his thoughts.

This ti it did not disappear.

Instead, more fragnts followed.

A snowy mountain.

Silver eyes.

A hand reaching through darkness.

A promise.

Lucas gasped as tears stread down his face.

He still could not rember everything.

But the emptiness inside him finally had a shape.

Soone had once stood beside him.

Soone important.

Soone the universe itself had forgotten.

Elsewhere across Earth, the sa phenonon began.

Artists suddenly understood the faces they had painted for months.

Children rembered the heroine from their dreams.

Writers awoke with entire Chapters appearing in their notebooks overnight.

The forgotten story was leaking back into reality.

Not completely.

Just enough.

Beyond the Archive, the Witness brightened.

The Silent Void reacted imdiately.

The darkness surrounding the wound expanded.

Entire regions beyond reality vanished into featureless absence.

The ancient being stepped forward.

"The Remnant is awakening its origin."

The Keeper stared.

"You an Maya?"

For a brief mont, the Witness trembled.

And a voice erged from within its light.

Faint.

Distant.

Almost lost.

"...Lucas..."

The lantern sea erupted.

Millions of lights blazed simultaneously.

The First Rembered recoiled in shock.

The Keeper froze.

The voice had not belonged to the Witness.

It had belonged to Maya Kane.

A fragnt.

A surviving echo.

Against every law of the Archive.

Against every rule of erasure.

A piece of her remained.

The Silent Void focused entirely on the Witness.

Its attention beca overwhelming.

Because now it understood.

The Witness was not rely a new beginning.

It was proof.

Proof that a story could survive absolute erasure.

Proof that choice was stronger than absence.

Proof that aning could outlive oblivion.

And that made it dangerous.

The wound widened further.

Darkness spilled across eternity.

The lantern sea trembled as countless ancient bells began ringing.

Warning bells.

The sa bells that had sounded when the Remnant first arrived.

The colossal ancient being looked toward the growing darkness.

Ancient concern filled its eyes.

"It is coming."

The Keeper swallowed hard.

"The Silent Void?"

"No."

The being’s expression darkened.

"Sothing that serves it."

Across the wound, a shape erged.

Vast.

Formless.

Neither alive nor dead.

A shadow woven from untold possibilities that had never beco reality.

Worlds that never existed.

Lives never lived.

Stories never told.

The creature opened countless hollow eyes.

Each contained a universe that had failed to begin.

The Witness stared into those eyes.

And sowhere within its golden heart, Maya’s faint echo stirred again.

Rembering.

Awakening.

Refusing to disappear.

As the first servant of the Silent Void crossed into existence—

The war for the First Choice finally began.
