The dim light filtered through a narrow, grated window high on the stone wall, casting eerie shadows across the damp floor. The team stumbled into the cold, desolate chamber, their breaths visible in the frigid air. The faint scent of mildew lingered, and a single pair of rusted shackles lay ominously in the center of the room, illuminated by a shaft of pale light.

"This isn't just a cell," Rook muttered, scanning the surroundings. "It's an execution chamber."

Viper approached the shackles cautiously, her fingers brushing against the ancient chains. "They're enchanted," she whispered, her voice laced with unease. "These were used to bind sothing—or soone—powerful."

Bulwark growled, his heavy boots echoing in the quiet space. "And now we're locked in here with whatever that was." He slamd a fist against the wall, testing its strength. "No way out. Typical."

Shadow knelt near the corner, her sharp eyes catching faint markings etched into the stone. "These symbols," she said, "they're warnings. Whoever was held here... they were dangerous beyond asure."

Ghost, who had been silent until now, stepped forward, his attention drawn to the faint sound of whispers. "Do you hear that?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

The team froze, straining to listen. The whispers grew louder, an unintelligible chorus of voices that seed to co from everywhere and nowhere. The temperature dropped further, and the light from their gear flickered erratically.

"Stay sharp," Rook ordered, raising his weapon.

The shadows in the room began to shift unnaturally, coalescing into a humanoid form in the far corner. Glowing, hollow eyes stared back at the team as the figure took a step forward, its chains dragging ominously across the floor.

"You... dare disturb my prison?" The voice was a low growl, filled with centuries of rage and despair.

Rook didn't flinch. "We're here for answers," he said firmly. "Who are you?"

The figure's laugh was a chilling echo that reverberated through the chamber. "I was once a guardian, like you. Bound to protect the ancient relics of this cursed place. But betrayal..." It raised its chained hands. "...turned into this."

Viper stepped forward cautiously, holding the glowing to. "The curse—we're here to destroy it. But we need your help."

The figure's eyes narrowed, its form flickering. "Destroy it? You cannot destroy what you do not understand. The curse is alive, feeding on the despair of those who seek it."

"Then tell us how to weaken it," Shadow interjected, her voice steady.

The figure hesitated, the chains around its wrists rattling as it extended a hand toward the team. "Free ," it said, "and I will guide you."

Bulwark scoffed. "Free you? Sounds like a bad idea."

Ghost shook his head. "We don't have another choice. This thing knows more than we do."

Rook considered for a mont, then nodded. "Viper, do it."

As Viper began chanting from the to, the chains glowed brightly, breaking apart with a deafening snap. The figure let out a roar, its form solidifying.

"You have made your choice," it said, its hollow eyes locking onto Rook. "Now, you must face the consequences."

The walls of the chamber began to tremble as the whispers grew into a deafening roar. The team readied their weapons, bracing for whatever ca next.
