The team erged from the damp tunnel into an enormous, circular chamber. It was like stepping into an ancient coliseum, but instead of seats, there were concentric layers of platforms and stairs spiraling down toward a central dais. The air was heavy with the scent of old stone, and faint echoes seed to co from every direction, making it impossible to pinpoint their source.
"Welco to the labyrinth," Shadow murmured, scanning the area with her scope.
The dais in the middle caught everyone’s attention. It was adorned with intricate carvings and a massive compass rose etched into the floor, each direction marked with strange runes glowing faintly. Four staircases extended from the center like spokes of a wheel, leading to dark, shadowy passageways on the outer walls.
"This place screams ’trap,’" Viper muttered, gripping her blade tightly.
"Agreed," Rook said, motioning for the team to spread out. "Stay sharp. Ghost, check the carvings. Shadow, cover him."
Ghost knelt at the edge of the central platform, running his gloved fingers over the runes. "These markings… they’re a map," he said after a mont. "But it’s not static. The symbols keep shifting."
"Like the place is alive," Bulwark grumbled, keeping his heavy weapon trained on the nearest staircase.
As if in response, a low rumble shook the chamber. The glowing runes on the dais pulsed brighter, and the staircases began to move, shifting their positions as if rearranging the pathways.
"Confird," Shadow said dryly. "The place is alive."
"Suggestions?" Viper asked, her tone impatient.

Rook frowned but nodded. "Alright. Ghost, you’re with . Shadow, take Bulwark. Viper, you’re solo. Stay in contact. If anyone goes silent for more than five minutes, we regroup here."
The team moved quickly, each pair heading down their assigned path. Viper disappeared into the shadows of her staircase, her footsteps silent as she navigated the labyrinth alone.
Rook and Ghost entered a chamber filled with floating, glowing orbs. The air buzzed with static energy. Ghost imdiately recognized the pattern. "These are motion sensors," he said. "Trip one, and we’re toast."
"Then we don’t trip them," Rook replied.
They moved carefully, weaving through the maze of orbs. Halfway through, Ghost paused, his sharp eyes catching a faint shimr on the floor. "Pressure plate," he warned. "Step wrong, and the whole room goes up."
Rook nodded, adjusting his path.
anwhile, Shadow and Bulwark faced a different challenge—a room filled with massive gears and pulleys, each moving at a different speed. "We’re supposed to stop this?" Bulwark asked incredulously.
"No," Shadow said, pointing to the glowing symbols on the walls. "We’re supposed to align them."
As they worked, the chamber groaned, and the gears began to accelerate.
Back at the central dais, the compass runes pulsed faster. Whatever awaited them at the end of these trials, it was clear ti was running out.
