The creature was still out there.

Stalking.
It wasn’t done with them.
Then, the laughter returned.
That sickening, chittering noise.
The survivors froze.
From the shadows ahead, sothing slithered.
A long, wet, sinewy appendage snapped through the air, nearly catching Lucas by the throat.
He dodged, barely.
The massive tongue retracted, disappearing into the dark.
“Move, move!” Leon shouted.
They sprinted forward—only to slam into sothing wet and pulsating.
Evelyn’s stomach twisted.
It was a cocoon of flesh, throbbing like a beating heart.
Strands of veiny tissue stretched across the walls and ceiling, creating an organic prison.
“Jesus…” Samantha whispered.
“What the hell is this?”
Leon aid his rifle at the cocoon, but before he could fire—it twitched.
A human arm burst out of the fleshy prison, reaching, clawing.
A muffled scream followed.
“They’re alive in there.” Evelyn’s voice was grim.
Mia’s hands shook.
“This thing—it’s making more of itself.”
Suddenly, the laughter erupted all around them.
The creature dropped from the ceiling.
Its massive, clawed hand slamd into Reaper, pinning him against the fleshy wall.
Its grotesque tongue whipped toward Evelyn, but she ducked, rolling across the slimy floor.
Lucas fired—bullets tore into its muscular torso, but the wounds sealed almost instantly.
With unnatural speed, the monster slashed out, raking Mia’s arm open.
Blood splattered the walls.
She scread.
Evelyn didn’t hesitate.
She lunged forward, driving her knife into its exposed brain-like head.
The creature reeled back, shrieking, its tongue whipping wildly.
The survivors took the opportunity—they ran.
They barreled down another corridor, the grotesque walls narrowing around them.
A faint light appeared ahead.
An exit?
Then, the ground collapsed beneath them.
The survivors plunged into darkness, crashing into a lower chamber filled with corpses.
Evelyn groaned, struggling to her feet.
The air was thick with rot.
Around them, twisted, half-ford creatures twitched, their bodies in different stages of transformation.
Then, from above, the creature peered down at them, drool dripping from its fanged maw.
It hadn’t chased them.
It had led them here.
A trap.
The chamber rumbled.
And then, the corpses began to move.
