A monstrous shape clung to the ceiling, its elongated limbs coiled like a predator preparing to strike.
Its skin was stretched taut over corded muscles, its exposed brain pulsating with eerie, unnatural intelligence.
Its jaw unhinged, revealing rows of serrated teeth.
Then, in an instant—it moved.
The Stalker dropped.
Lucas barely had ti to shove Evelyn aside before it crashed down, claws slicing through the air where she had stood.
Reaper opened fire—but the creature was too fast.
It blurred past them, its long tongue snapping like a whip.
The beast slamd into Leon, knocking him into a rusted filing cabinet.
His rifle clattered to the floor as the Stalker’s claws pinned him.
Leon gasped, staring into its milky, pupil-less eyes.
The creature tilted its head, as if studying him.
Then, it leaned in close—breathing him in.
Mia scread and fired.
The bullets ripped into the creature’s back.
The Stalker shrieked, its voice a warped, guttural symphony of rage.
It vaulted off Leon, flipping onto the nearest wall and scurrying into the shadows.
Silence.
Leon coughed, pressing a hand to his chest.
“What the hell was that?”
Evelyn’s face was pale.
“It’s learning.”
Reaper reloaded his shotgun.
“Not for long.”
The Stalker wasn’t running.
It was hunting.
From the darkness, the clicking started again.
The team backed up into a defensive formation.
Then—a second set of clicks.
Lucas swallowed hard.
“There’s…more than one.”
From the shadows, two more Stalkers erged.
Samantha gritted her teeth.
“We’re trapped.”
Leon grabbed his rifle, forcing himself to stand.
“Then we make a way out.”
The creatures tensed, their long, spiked fingers scraping against the walls.
