Without thinking, he walked up and wrapped his arms around her from behind.
Inhaling deeply, he chuckled softly against her ear. "Mikoto, you sll a little different today."
The woman in his arms froze, her body going stiff.
Sensing sothing was wrong, Yuzuru lifted a hand and touched the spot he knew best.
The next second, he felt as if he were holding a furnace instead of a person.
A trembling voice broke out, half crying, "L-Lord Yuzuru, I—I'm Karura."
Yuzuru's eyes widened. "Karura? Why are you wearing a wig—and Mikoto's clothes?"
Karura's face turned red. "Senior Lihuo fell ill, so Mikoto went to care for him last night and hasn't returned yet. Little Itachi was crying for his mother, so I… dressed like her to comfort him."
Hearing her explanation, Yuzuru couldn't help but silently praise his son.
Good job, Itachi. That's one divine assist—didn't let your father down.
He smiled slyly. "Karura, it's not just Itachi who misses Mikoto. I miss her too. So, why don't you… keep playing the part?"
With that, he lifted her into his arms and carried her toward the bedroom.
Karura didn't resist. She simply nestled her head against his chest.
She'd heard Mikoto and Kushina gush about how blissful it was to be with him—now she could finally find out for herself.

Kushina's face turned even redder. Why did I understand that instantly?!

Off to the side, Mikoto giggled softly at the sight of the two bickering.
Just then, a knock ca at the door.
Outside, Obito's voice called out, "Big Brother Yuzuru! You ho?" (T/N: Obito, this is the second ti you co in a bad ti, the third won't go unpunished)
Opening the door, Yuzuru found Obito and Kakashi waiting.
Obito looked especially excited.
"What's the matter?" Yuzuru asked.
Obito pointed proudly to his eyes. "Watch closely, Big Brother!"
His once-dark pupils turned crimson, two black tomoe spinning slowly within.
"Obito, what happened? You actually awakened your Sharingan?" Yuzuru blinked in surprise.
Opening the Sharingan required intense emotional stimulation.
In the original tiline, Obito awakened his during the Third Great Ninja War, when Kakashi lost his eye.
So what could've triggered it this ti?
Kakashi sighed before Obito could answer. "Yesterday, he went mountain climbing with his grandma. She fell and broke her leg. That's when he awakened it."
Kakashi's tone carried both disbelief and resignation.
The Sharingan—one of the most powerful Kekkei Genkai—couldn't possibly awaken from sothing so mundane.
If he hadn't seen it himself, he never would've believed it.
Hearing this, Yuzuru couldn't help but give Obito a thumbs-up.
